A Quantitative Performance Measurement on the Construction Technology R&D Projects through Research Characteristic (연구개발 사업의 특성을 고려한 건설 R&D의 정량적 성과측정)

  • The construction R&D(Research & Development) has various performance according to research charater. But present performance evaluation form evaluates project rather than charater of research. The important reasons that evaluats the performance are to try conclusions with evaluated objects in the short run, but to forecast the performance of future construction R&D and to get the better performance. Thus this study extracts the RPI(Research Performanc Index) with output as the conter, developes the estimation method and measures the quantitative performance. Applying the ANOVA(Analysis of Variance), it is proved that the performance according to research charater is various. And applying the Correspondence Analysis, it is analised the relationship with performance and research charater. The purposes of this study are to idetify the problem of uniform performance evaluation and to improve it.

  • The Korean housing supply have been provided by the Pre-construction sales system. The Pre-construction sales system contributed to large housing supply. But it followed by the market anomaly. Along the housing market is changing to tile market for consumers, it requires new policy and regulations. This market changes and needs to modify the policy make a discussion about introducing the Post-construction sales system. it concerns to change the time to sale. This paper analyzes the present feasibility study and makes a tool to predict construction cashflow considering changed sales point. The sales timing leads to decide the amount of financial costs in the construction project and that cost affects to the feasibility. The accurate cashflow prediction is required for a successful apartment construction delivery.

  • Today the domestic construction industries are changing. The bigger, higher and more professional are gradually the construction industries, the faster does the fusion into the other industries also undergone. It is gradually needed to estimate the process of the project in the construction industries through this tendency. Consumers or the owner gradually reify their needs and it is essential for an objective appraisal standard to estimate the accomplishment of the project because its level is raised. In this study the problem is understood through the analysis on the existing system of construction industries and it is indicated to new performance measurement system in construction project through the analysis on the influential factors including the qualitative analysis such as consumer satisfaction.

  • In preparation of the increase in the domestic debts and the rise in the US interest rate, the Korean government has started to strengthen the regulation on the property market since 2017. So, it is likely that the sales in the domestic construction market would be decreased. Even in the overseas plant projects market, as there has been the continuous increase in the cost and the resulting increase in the losses, it looks hard for the large construction companies to keep their credit ratings as they are now. This study is designed to check Korean government's property policy and any possible problems caused by the overseas and domestic economic environment, which include the property market policy, interest rate, rise in the property price and lackluster sales in housing market. It showed the change in the credit ratings by finding out the sales, work capability, sales in non-governmental projects, operating profits and PF contingency liabilities. For this study, the questionnaires were sent to 30 practical experts to analyze the effect of the risk factor on the outside credit rating of large construction companies.

Case Study for Preventing Construction Site Fall Accidents (건설현장 추락사고 예방을 위한 사례 연구)

  • Recently, the government has shown a decrease in disaster accidents throughout the industry and construction industry due to various efforts to reduce disasters. However, the fall accidents in the construction industry are not decreasing but increasing. In particular, the fall accident caused by scaffolding is low each year, but the disaster intensity is very high in that it directly leads to the death of workers. Scaffolding working environment in domestic construction industry is very poor. Moreover, scaffold workers in small construction sites are not subject to safety oversight and control. Therefore, this study is the installation and non-installation of the vertical lifeline, which is the most fundamental problem to be prevented during the study, to prevent the fall of the moon scaffold. In addition, it is hoped that it will be a solution for preventing accidents in construction site construction through the identification of various causes of disasters such as rope loosening, rope breaking, and fixed point failure.

  • It is highly in demand to establish a bunker-type underground data center to ensure the safety of national critical data, such as financial information and medical information, and prevent those outflow of national important data. In particular, the security of a data center which is a key national structure has become a social issue due to EMP weapon and earthquakes, but data centers in the nation have not been able to deal with it properly. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an underground data center that is safe from human-induced and natural disasters while reducing power costs by utilizing the benefits of underground spaces such as constant temperature and isolation. In this analysis, the status and trends of data centers around the world were analyzed and based on those trend analyses, the research strategy for underground data center were discussed.

  • Participation in official development assistance (ODA) construction projects can be proposed as a way to revitalize Korean small and medium-sized construction companies' entry into the overseas construction market. To this end, the necessary competency items were derived for the execution of the project, and a survey was conducted and an analysis of importance-current competency was performed. 24 out of a total of 32 competency items were analyzed as having a low level of competency compared to their importance, indicating that it is urgent to strengthen corporate-level capabilities for the smooth execution of related projects in the future. In detail, it is judged that it is necessary to seek to establish a preferential capacity-strengthening plan for contract management-related items such as the 'Construction-related fundamental laws, Contract management method, and International administration negotiation'.

  • Recently, the fatality rate in the construction industry has not decreased any more and is in a stagnant state, and there are efforts by various construction participants such as ordering, design, and construction, management to improve it. In order to reduce serious accidents in the construction industry, which is higher than in other industries, the government evaluates the safety level of construction participants and announces it to raise awareness. However, in the items, standards, and procedures of the safety management level evaluation, there are points that do not match the site situation, and it is necessary to improve them. In this study, in order to improve the safety management level evaluation for construction technology service providers who are in the worst situation for safety management, the safety management level evaluation result analysis and Focus-Group-Interview(FGI) were conducted. improvement direction was suggested.

A Study on the Stability of Embankment Due to the Construction of Embankment Combined Use Road (제방겸용도로 건설에 따른 제방 안정성 해석에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzes the change of stability of embankment due to the construction of embankment combined used road with two different construction phases. The stabilities have been checked both in the phase of earth banking for a road construction and in the phase of the application of the traffic roads(DB-24). In both cases the factor of safety has been found higher than 1.3 which is the general criterion of the safety of an embankment. The results indicate that the safety of an embankment due to the construction of embankment combined use road is assured, and thus, it is thought that the construction of embankment combined use road can be considered for cutting down on expenses of construction sites for a road construction. However, the pre-examination of stability due to the construction should be carried out because it decreases the factor of safety of an embankment. From this study, it has been found that the factor of safety was dropped most when the water level rose in the transient flow. The result indicates that the stability analysis of a river embankment where the water level changes frequently should be carried out in the condition of transient flow. It is recommended that the inner side of an embankment should have a slope of 1:2 which is identical with the slope of the existing embankment. In addition, the factor of safety also can be decreased due to the traffic loads, and therefore, the effect should also be considered after the construction of embankment combined used road limiting the traffic loads.

Comparison of Construction Cost Applied by RC and PC Construction Method for Apartment House and Establishment of OSC Economic Analysis Framework (공동주택 RC 및 PC공법 적용 공사비 비교 및 OSC의 포괄적 경제성 분석 프레임워크 구축)

  • OSC is a type of supply chain and value chain that spans the entire process of construction production (planning, design, construction, maintenance, etc.). It is a method of producing the final object by manufacturing it in a factory, transporting it to the site, installing and construction. This research as is the construction cost was compared for each case A, which applied the PC method, and case B, which applied the RC method. In the case of applying the PC method (excluding the PC design cost), compared to the case where only the RC method was applied, the frame construction cost per unit quantity (m3) increased by about 70% (50% based on the total RC construction type). Of the total frame construction cost of PC method application, PC accounted for 90.2%, 'PC manufacturing cost' 54.8%, 'PC assembly cost' 28.5%, and 'transportation cost' accounted for 6.89%. Also a decision-making framework that can consider both costs and benefits was established. In the case of benefits, the construction period, defect repair, disaster occurrence, energy efficiency, noise/dust/waste, and greenhouse gas emission indicators reflecting OSC technical advantages were presented. It can contribute to providing a basis for helping decision-making on the introduction of PC apartment houses using OSC.
