  • A recent development of seismic design, which is required among environmentally friendly members, increased the concern on light-weight concrete. Extending around the building, the structural design which is applied for light-weight concrete has been increased. This study therefore evaluates the bending resistance and the shear resistance involved using four specimens that were manufactured and tested. The parameters used in this study exist. This study investigates the structural performance of composite slab using light-weight concrete with KCI (2007).

Fire Resistance of Concrete Filled Double Skin Tubular Columns under Axial Load (일정 축력을 받는 Double CFT기둥의 내화성능 평가)

  • Although an uncoated CFT column with a high axial-force ratio can be used to secure fire resistance for two hours or less in low-rise buildings, it does not satisfy the three-hour-long fire resistance required in high-rise buildings. Accordingly, so that the uncoated CFT column could be used for high-rise buildings, additional measures for the improvement of its fire resistance should be proposed. In this regard, the use of a Double CFT column as a measure for improving the fire resistance of the uncoated CFT column was proposed in this paper. A fire resistance test was conducted on an uncoated CFT column and a Double CFT column in real scale, under a load. Through such test, the effect of the Double CFT column on fire resistance was evaluated and then compared with that of a variant shape of the cross-section of a steel column.

Construction of Earthquake Disaster Management System Based on Seismic Performance Evaluation of Architectural Structure (건축물 내진성능평가에 의한 지진재해관리정보체계 구축)

  • This paper proposes potentialities of constructing the information system for earthquake hazard management which can manage and analyse earthquake risk and hazard systematically. The experimental results as well as architectural structure investment data for seismicity assessment are built in database and connected with GIS for assessing earthquake safety of building in urban area. For earthquake-resistant performance assessment, we collected and classified building structural data according to assessment criteria using building register, architectural map, digital map, and then complemented database with field survey data. We also suggest GIS-based information system can cope with and manage earthquake hazard effectively, as evaluating earthquake risk by performing detailed earthquake-resistant assessment and determining final assessment scores. The assessment should be processed quickly and accurately by integrating the earthquake hazard information management system with modularization of assessment procedure and method in the future.

Collapse Capacity Evaluation of Steel Intermediate Moment Frames Using Incremental Dynamic Analysis (비선형 증분동적해석을 통한 철골 중간모멘트 골조의 붕괴성능 평가)

  • Steel intermediate moment frames (IMFs) have been generally used as seismic load resisting systems (SLRSs) of a building to provide resistances against strong ground shaking. However, most of low and mid-rise steel buildings in Korea were constructed during pre-seismic code era or before the introduction of well-organized current seismic codes. It has been recognized that the seismic performance of these steel IMFs is still questionable. In order to respond to such a question, this study quantitatively investigates the seismic capacities of steel IMFs. Prototype models are built according to the number of stories, the levels of elastic seismic design base shear and the ductilities of structural components. Also, the other prototype models employing hysteretic energy dissipating devices (HEDDs) are considered. The collapse mechanism and the seismic performance of the prototype models are then described based on the results obtained from nonlinear-static and incremental-dynamic analyses. The seismic performance of the prototype models is assessed from collapse margin ratio (CMR) and collapse probability. From the assessment, the prototype model representing new steel IMFs has enough seismic capacities while, the prototype models representing existing steel IMFs provide higher collapse probabilities. From the analytic results of the prototype models retrofitted with HEDDs, the HEDDs enhance the seismic performance and collapse capacity of the existing steel IMFs. This is due to the energy dissipating capacity of the HEDDs and the redistribution of plastic hinges.

  • This study examined ways of improving the internal insulation performance of aging university buildings, and to enhance the convenience of occupants in university buildings and the insulation effect of aging buildings. This research was conducted to solve the problem of continuous requests for improving the insulation performance of office workers in the Nehemiah Hall building of Handong University. The results showed that the internal temperature of Nehemiah Hall was low compared to the internal temperature of the adjacent building. Considering the characteristics of the building, the university chose insulating materials under the theme of internal insulation. The experiment was conducted by installing internal wall insulation used in the market by producing a model room that miniaturized the university professor's office. Based on the experimental results, an economic evaluation was conducted to analyze the insulation effect by measuring the heating time and actual heat transmission coefficient. An economic evaluation was conducted by experiment and theory and on a winter and summer basis. According to the research, when an Isopink (30 T) was introduced as an internal insulation material in 60 offices of Nehemiah Hall, it could save up to 1,071,600 won in total during the winter season and 109,200 won during the summer season.

  • 화재발생시 가장 주요한 사망원인인 유독가스의 제어와, 소방관의 소화활동을 돕기 위한 제연설비는 각 구성품이 유기적으로 동작하는 시스템을 이루기 때문에 전체의 조화도 중요하지만, 기본적으로 각 설비요소가 제 기능을 발휘할 때 전체 시스템의 제연성능을 확보할 수 있게 된다. 그러나 현재 법으로 규정된 국내기준은 주요 구성품별 성능을 제대로 평가할 수 있는 방법 및 기준이 없어 본 연구를 통하여 배연창의 성능평가기술을 개발하고 항목별 성능시험을 실시하여 평가방법의 적합성을 검토하고 국가표준을 만들기 위한 기초 자료로 제공하고자 한다.

  • 화재시 발생하는 연기 및 유독가스를 효과적으로 제어하기 위한 제연설비는 일정한 성능이 요구되며 각 장치에 대한 성능시험방법과 평가기준이 마련되어 있어야 하지만 아직 국내기준은 서류에 의한 예비검사나 부위검사 등으로 되어 있어 성능위주의 평가기준이 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 제연설비 주요 구성품 중 제연댐퍼에 대해 국내외 기준을 비교분석하고 정량적인 성능기준을 제시하여 이에 따른 평가와 적합성을 분석하고자 하였다.

An Investigation into the Building's Thermal Mass Effect on the Variation of Indoor Temperature (건물의 축열질량이 실내기온 변화에 미치는 영향 평가)

  • This paper is concerned with the accurate estimation of the thermal mass effect on the variation of indoor temperature for residential buildings. To carry out the analysis here, the method called "PSTAR(Primary and Secondary Terms Analysis and Renormalization)" has been extensively used. This method was originally developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory(NREL) in the United States. The test results reported here represent two extreme cases of the interior thermal mass, which demonstrate its effect on the interior thermal environment as well as on the overall thermal behavior of the building structure. The monthly heating and cooling loads are also extrapolated by using the renormalized model, which are crucial in designing and refurbishing HVAC systems for the building.

월성 2,3,4호기 비상급수계통 성능평가에 관한 연구

  • CANDU-6형 원자력발전소인 월성 2,3,4호기 비상급수계통의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 설계기능 수행과 관련된 변수로서 격납건물내 집수조(sump) 온도와 열수송계통으로 주입되는 냉각재온도를 사용한 분석을 수행하였다. 이 온도들은 NTU(Number of Transfer Unit)방법을 이용한 비상노심 냉각계통 열교환기의 열전달속도와 열전달계수의 해석을 열평형관계식과 함께 조합한 프로그램을 사용하여 계산하였다. 또한 증기발생기 급수량과 추후 수조에 공급되는 보충수에 대한 설계요건을 검토하였다. 이러한 변수와 설계요건은 비상급수계통이 발전소 정상 열제거기능 상실후 노심의 붕괴열제거에 유효한 열침원으로서의 기능을 수행함을 보여 주었다. 또 격납건물의 건전성 유지와 관련된 집수조내 최고온도가 허용치 이하로 유지되었다.

  • This study has been conducted to describe the establishment of national measures to reduce world energy consumption and $CO_2$ Emission. Particularly, Reductions in energy consumption from building operation is the most important part to achieve these national objectives. Element to evaluate the quantitative effects of these systems by having rationalized regulation and operation is essential, when planning for building energy reduction design. USGBC(US Green Building Council) have operated sustainable assessment method called LEED, which introduces baseline performance and evaluation direction for building simulation techniques. This research analyzed Quantitative assessments of the building energy consumption and analyzed baseline figures to provide comparative analysis with standard building settings.
