The purpose of this study was to identify and describe attitudes and beliefs that might act as barriers to addressing patient sexuality concerns and to determine the extent to which these attitudes and beliefs are influenced by personal factors such as age, gender, education. The Sexuality Attitudes and Beliefs Survey was used to assess nursing students(N=214). Important barriers to addressing patient sexuality reported by the majority of the students included not making time to address the concerns (86.9%) and Feeling confident in ability to address patients' sexual concerns(76.2%). A statistically significant difference was found in scores based on sex(p=0.03) and religion(p=0.02). Results of this study have implications for educational programs in dealing with patient sexuality.

매년 4월의 셋째주. 한국건강관리협회는 이때를 ‘건강관리 강조주간’으로 정하고 전국 20여개소에 가두 무료 건강상담소를 설치하여 각종 기본 건강검사 및 건강상담을 실시해오고 있다. 지난 4월 15일부터 1주일간 실시되었던 ‘91년도 가두 건강검사는 국민들에게는 건강관리의 필요성을, 협회에는 보다 활발한 검사의 필요성을 느끼게 해주었다. 총 1만여명에 대한 혈당검사혈액형검사혈압측정요검사기생충검사 등이 건강검사와 상담을 마친 서울지부 가두 무료 건강검사의 현장을 이번 호에 소개한다.

알레르기성 비염을 앓는 아이가 부쩍 늘었다. 2009년 국민건강보험공단의 발표에 따르면 알레르기성 비염을 앓는 아동, 청소년이 4년 전에 비해 1.3배나 증가했다. 특히 4세 이하 영유아의 경우 5명중 1명이 알레르기성 비염을 앓고 있다고 한다. 그러나 이 시기의 아이들은 어느 곳이 어떻게 불편하지 정확하게 표현하지 못하기 때문에 치료에 소홀하기가 쉽다.

본 연구는 간호대학생의 성지식, 성태도, 생식건강증진행위를 확인하고 이들의 상관관계 확인을 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 간호대학생 300명을 대상으로 설문하고 229부로 분석하였다. 연구도구는 Jeon(2004)의 성지식, Ho(2009)의 성태도, Jo(2014)의 생식건강증진행위 측정도구를 사용하였다. 자료분석은 일반적 특성은 실수와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, 성지식, 성태도, 생식건강증진행위는 평균과 표준편차를 이용하였다. 일반적 특성에 따른 성지식, 성태도, 건강증진행위 차이는 independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, 사후검정으로 Scheffe's test를 이용하였다. 상관관계는 Pearson's correlation coefficients로 분석하였다. 여학생의 성지식이 높았으며, 생식건강증진행위 교육은 저학년이 적절한 시기임을 알 수 있다. 또한, 성지식이 높을수록 생식건강증진행위가 높아 생식건강증진행위 향상을 위한 성교육의 필요성이 여전히 요구됨을 시사한다. 이에, 본 연구는 간호대학생의 생식건강을 위한 상담과 교육에 활용할 생식건강증진행위의 교육자료 개발에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Background: This study aimed to identified the relationship between the risk of obstructive sleep apnea, subjective health, and health-related quality of life among the middle-aged and elderly population in Korea. Methods: Adults aged 40 or older were extracted from the total 22,559 respondents to the 2019-2020 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey VIII, and secondary analysis was conducted on a total of 6,659 middle-aged and elderly people with no missing values. Logistic regression analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted to examine the relationship between obstructive sleep apnea risk factors and subjective health as well as quality of life. Results: The subjective health status decline in the high-risk group compared to the non-risk group for obstructive sleep apnea was statistically significantly higher, with an odds ratio of 1.84 (p<0.001). The health-related quality of life was also statistically significantly lower by 0.02 points (β, -0.02; p<0.001). As a result of subgroup analysis on specific variables, the association between the risk of obstructive sleep apnea and subjective health and health-related quality of life was statistically significant depending on gender, sleep time, presence of depression, household income, and number of household members. Based on the obstructive sleep apnea risk group, women had a higher correlation with low subjective health and lower health-related quality of life scores than men. Sleeping time of more than 8 hours or less than 6 hours was more associated with low subjective health and lower health-related quality of life score than sleeping time of 6-8 hours. Patients with depression were more likely to have low subjective health than those without depression. The lower the household income level and the smaller the number of household members, the higher the association with low subjective health and the lower the health-related quality of life score. Conclusion: It is essential to recognize that the risk of obstructive sleep apnea not only directly affects sleep disorders but also impacts individuals' subjective health and quality of life. Consequently, social support and education should be provided to raise awareness of this issue. Particularly, programs for preventing and managing obstructive sleep apnea should target vulnerable groups such as women, individuals in single-person households, low household income, and those with depression, aiming to improve their subjective health and quality of life.

Providing reliable and high quality information sources will be one of the basic skills of librarians in the future. Therefore, this study proposed evaluation criteria for health-related information sources based on a survey of public and medical librarians. As a result, a total of 21 items were selected as evaluation items, in three groups. The first, the health information content group, had 13 evaluation items, including accuracy, recency, medical expertise, regular updates, consideration of audience, objectivity, ease of understanding, plain (non-scientific or technical) language, completeness, relevance to the topic, verifiability, citation of information sources, and specification of precautions or warnings. The second group, the health-information sources group, had 5 evaluation items including clarity of health information for achieving its purpose, clarification of the responsibility of health information, compliance to the privacy policy, fairness of health information providers, and ethics of health information providers. The third group was the health-information website design group, and featured 4 evaluation criteria: ease of access, search capabilities, website ease of use, and query-response services.

최근 의학의 진보에 따라 체격이나 평균수명은 향상되었으나 다수의 사람들이 특별한 질병의 상태가 아니면서 건강하지도 않은 반쪽 건강 상태에 있으며, 암, 동맥경화, 심장질환, 고혈압, 당뇨병, 간질환 및 만성 위장병의 증가가 문제시 되고 있다. 이들 질병의 예방이 식생활과 밀접한 관련이 있다는 사실이 알려지면서 식품의 영양소와 기호성 이외에 기능성, 건강지향성을 재인식하게 되었으며, 건강한 식생활이 건강관리의 한 방법으로 자리를 차지하게 되었다. 따라서 올바른 식품과 영양에 대한 지식이 일상의 식생활에 적극적으로 반영되면서 많은 사람들이 식원병을 예방하고 건강을 유지할 수 있을 것이다. 본 보고에서는 양과 질의 측면에서 영양학적으로 우수한 특성을 갖거나 민간전승적으로 건강에 좋으며, 식품의 과학적 효과가 입증된 대표적인 농산물의 종류와 활용에 대하여 살펴보았다.

The purpose of this study is to assess the relationships of alcohol consumption patterns to mental distress and self-rated health. Data of 19,856 adult drinkers over 19 years of age and older from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were evaluated by multivariate logistic regression analysis. Risks of experiencing perceived high stress, depressive symptoms and suicidal thoughts were higher in alcohol use disorder group in male, whereas the risks were higher in both alcohol use disorder and hazardous drinking groups in female, reflecting higher susceptibility to mental distress. In both male and female, former drinkers presented poor self-rated health compared with low-risk drinkers, although no difference was found in the prevalence of mental distress. Specialized mental health management measures for female drinkers are required, and former drinkers are suggested to be assessed separately from never or low-risk drinkers for their physical and mental health status.

Fungal arthritis is a rare joint infection that occurs in immunosuppressant patient, intravenous drug abuser and long term antibiotics user, and is especially rare in a healthy adult. Two case reports of fungal arthritis have been demonstrated in the country, but those in healthy adults have not been reported yet. Here, we experienced an antifungal treatment following successful arthroscopic debridement of fungal arthritis with a popliteal cyst in a healthy adult who got repetitive intraarticular steroid injections and report the case with review of relevant literatures. Surgeons should consider the possibility of fungal arthritis although it is rare and demonstrates nonspecific clinical features.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to compare the demographic characteristics, health and quality of life between general adults and adults living with dementia. Method : The data were collected using raw data of the 2016 community health survey and compared between 2,592 adults living with dementia patients and 225,840 general adults. health were assessed for sleep time, stress level, depression, and subjective health status, and quality of life was measured by EQ-5D. Result : In comparison of demographic characteristics, age and family number of adults living with dementia patients were significantly higher than general adults (p<.001), income and eduation levels were low (p<.001), and marital status was higher rate of living with spouse (p<.05). In comparison of health status, adults living with dementia patients were significantly longer in sleep time than the general adults (p<.001), and stress level was higher (p<.001), the percentage of experience of depression was higher (p<.001), and the subjective health status was worse (p<.001). Adults living with dementia patients were significantly lower in quality of life total score and all sub-domain than general adults (p<.001). Conclusion : Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to seek ways to improve the health and quality of life of dementia patients' families.
