Comparison of Airworthiness Certification System between Korea and U.S. (국내 항공인증과 미국 인증체계의 비교)

  • From design to serial production, aircraft should go thorough complicated certification procedure from airworthiness authority such as Type Certificate, Production Certificate and Certificate of Airworthiness. On the other hand, aircraft components are mandated to receive Technical Standard Order Approval and Production Manufacture Approval before commercial use. As domestic aircraft and LRUs are currently under development, Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement is promoted for the purpose of increasing aviation safety as well as foreign export. This paper describes the basic aircraft certification procedure and compares the difference in the certification system of US and Korea. Thorough this, it is attempted to suggest a requirements for establishing international certification system.

  • The process of developing a online 3D game engine involves designing details of the engine, alpha test, adjustment, supplementation, beta test and introduction, and an online 3D game engine is made of a server engine and client engine. The server engine, which is made of server construction part, distribution center and DB construction part for building asymmetric multiple servers, is developed by Linux, and the client engine, which is made of a graphic part, sound part, AI part and object management part, is developed by using DirectX in Windows, and it proposes an engine configuration and method based on 3D engine technology by analyzing the network technology, which is a common engine technology.

  • Purpose: LST-II is a special naval ship to carry out landing operations by transporting tanks, armored vehicles and military vehicles. Bad weather, maximum wave height of 4-5 m, caused damage to the LCM cradles while the LST-II No.O ship was moving to Thailand for training in February 2016. Methods: Based on the results of the field check, DTaQ conducted a study on the causes analysis and improvement measures. Results: The improvement plan that was derived was verified through a structural analysis and the improvement plan was applied to the follow-up ships. Conclusion: The improvement of LCM cradle has increased the safety of the crew and landing forces, and improved the operational efficiency.

Impact Analyses for the Safety Checks of Used Wave Dissipation Concrete Block Considering Construction Phases (사용된 소파블록의 안전성 검토를 위한 시공단계별 충돌해석)

  • Many harbor structures have been constructed, and some structures are now under construction in Korea, which is a peninsular state and a logistics hub in Northeast Asia. Expansions and extensions of existing harbors are also being planned to meet increasing natural disaster threats. Wave-dissipation concrete blocks are recycled or discarded based on the personal experience of engineers only, and there are no safety checks or criteria. To check the safety of used blocks, material evaluations were done by visual inspection of blocks on the ground and under water and from 20 non-destructive measurements of the rebound hardness test and 3 concrete core samples. Wave-dissipation blocks are sometimes fully or partially damaged in the process of transferring and mounting them or during construction. Therefore, a safety check is essential for recycling blocks with an evaluation of materials while considering the construction phases. To do this, a block was modeled with a 3D finite element method using ADINA, and impact analyses were done according to the transfer, mounting, and construction phases. From the results of the impact analyses and material evaluation, the safety checks and reasonable evaluation of used blocks were examined, and detailed construction methods are proposed. The methods are expected to maximize the reuse of used wave-dissipation blocks from an economical point of view.

Development of Environment Friendly Permeable Concrete Bio Blocks (친환경 투수 콘크리트 바이오 블록의 개발)

  • Rising sea levels along the coast from global warming causes the increase of wave energy along the coast. This rise in sea levels results in relatively deep water levels, which would incur the loss of sand that had not occurred in the past from erosion in coastal areas. Generally, it has been challenging to protect against coastal erosion, and the slope, cross-sectional shape, and materials are selected for the site conditions depending on the change in external forces. However, the application of counter measures based on insufficient understanding of the phenomenon is causing various damage, indicating the need for technological development and converging technologies to improve credibility. In this study, we developed eco-friendly permeable biopolymer concrete blocks to control the coastal erosion by using the Bio-Coast, an effective porous structure that mitigates the destructive erosion caused by the rising sea levels. The hexagonal design of Bio-Coast was derived from the honeycomb, columnar joints, and clover, which are durable and stable structures in nature, and the design was changed to apply bumps on the Bio-Coast filling in the form of a clover to reduce wave overtopping and run-up. Applying the field condition of beaches on the east coast of Korea, the block weight and size were decided and the prototype blocks were manufactured and are ready for field placement. In particular, it is intended to protect coastal areas from destructive erosion by natural and artificial external forces, and to extend the design to river,s lakes, and natural walking trails, to improve the efficiency of quality control and process control through the use of blocks.

Reaction Characteristics of Water Gas Shift Catalysts in Various Operation Conditions of Blue Hydrogen Production Using Petroleum Cokes (석유코크스 활용 블루수소생산을 위한 Water Gas Shift 촉매의 조업조건에 따른 반응특성)

  • To confirm the applicability of the water gas shift reaction for the production of high purity hydrogen for petroleum cokes, an unutilized low grade resource, Cu/ZnO/MgO/Al2O3 (CZMA), catalyst was prepared using the co-precipitation method. The prepared catalyst was analyzed using BET and H2-TPR. Catalyst reactivity tests were compared and analyzed in two cases: a single LTS reaction from syngas containing a high concentration of CO, and an LTS reaction immediately after the syngas passed through a HTS reaction without condensation of steam. Reaction characteristics in accordance with steam/CO ratio, flow rate, and temperature were confirmed under both conditions. When the converted low concentration of CO and steam were immediately injected into the LTS, the CO conversion was rather low in most conditions despite the presence of large amounts of steam. In addition, because the influence of the steam/CO ratio, temperature, and flow rate was significant, additional analysis was required to determine the optimal operating conditions. Meanwhile, carbon deposition or activity degradation of the catalyst did not appear under high CO concentration, and high CO conversion was exhibited in most cases. In conclusion, it was confirmed that when the Cu/ZnO/MgO/Al2O3 catalyst and the appropriate operating conditions were applied to the syngas composition containing a high concentration of CO, the high concentration of CO could be converted in sufficient amounts into CO2 by applying a single LTS reaction.

  • 현재 컴퓨터 응용프로그램을 개발하기 위해 많은 프로그래밍 언어가 존재한다. 사용자는 사용 목적에 따라 그에 맞는 새로운 프로그래밍 언어를 학습하고 사용한다. 그러나 프로그래밍 언어를 학습하고 사용하기 위해서는 많은 시간과 노력이 필요하기 때문에 사용자의 언어 학습의 비용과 시간을 줄이기 위해 두 언어간에 변환을 가능하게 해주는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 어휘 분석, 구문 분석 등의 여러 단계를 거치는 방법과는 다른 토큰 매핑 테이블과 XML로 기술한 변환 규칙을 통한 새로운 언어 변환을 위한 설계 방법을 제시함으로써 재사용성과 생산성을 높일 수 있는 것으로 기대된다.

  • 근래들어 생물기술이 급속히 발전함에 따라 생물반응을 통해 다양한 생물제품들의 생산이 이루어지고 있다. 생물반응에 의한 생물제품들의 생산량은 극단적으로는 기질 1g당 10$^{-8}$g 정도로서 극히 낮아 이를 상업제품이 요구하는 순도(95 %이상)로 까지 정제하기 위해서는 여러 단계를 거치는 복잡하고 지루한 분리.정제 과정이 필요하며, 이 분리.정제의 후류공정(downstream process)비용이 생물제품 생산비의 상당부분을 점유케 되어 생물공정의 경제성을 낮게 한다. 따라서 생물공정을 이용한 생물제품 생산이 산업적으로 경제성을 갖기 위해서는 생물제품을 보다 효율적.경제적으로 분리.정제할 수 있는 후류공정의 확립이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 산업적 규모로 생산되는 생물제품들을 효율적으로 분리.정제하는데 응용 가능한 방법의 하나로서 관심의 대상이 되고 있는 책체 크로마트그래피 기법을 연구의 대상으로 하였다.

미국의 시행착오에서 배우는 폐광 환경복원 최적화 기법

  • 폐기물과 오염물질 투기로 인해 발생된 오염지의 복원은 1980년대 초반 미국이 본격적으로 시도하여 현장조사, 위해도 평가, 타당성 검토의 3단계를 거쳐 복원대책을 수립하는 정형이 이루어졌다. 이 정형에서는 먼저 현장조사로 오염상태에 대한 자료를 수집하고 위해도 평가로 오염도가 인체와 환경에 미치는 위해도를 정량화하며 타당성 검토에서 위해도를 제거하기 위한 각종대안을 검토하여 최종안을 선정한다. 이 과정 자체는 합리적이었으나 여러 가지 시행착오를 거치며 과잉대책이 남발되고 사업효과도 미흡하여 점차 예산낭비의 대표적인 사례로 비판이 제기되었다. 시행착오의 가장 큰 기술적 원인은 위해도 평가와 별개로 타당성 검토를 수행하며 비현실적인 완벽복원을 추구한 탓이며 이를 극복하려는 최적화 기법이 90년대 초반에 소개되었다. 이 최적화기법은 타당성 검토단계에서 각 대안의 잔류 위해도를 산정하고 해당대안의 비용과 비교하여 위해도를 허용수준으로 줄이는 최소비용 대안을 발견하는 방법이다. 이 최적화기법을 실제 프로젝트에 적용한 결과 복원대책 수행에 기대 이상의 비용절감을 이루고 정부의 수용도도 높았다. 특히 정비대책에 현장조건의 특성을 활용하는 창의적 대안을 도입하면 효과를 극대화 할 수 있는 바 두 가지 사례를 소개하였다. 앞으로 상당한 투자가 예상되는 폐광오염 문제에도 이 기법을 적용하면 비용과 효과를 최적화할 수 있을 것으로 기대되어 그 모델을 제시하였다.

  • Thanks to the development of applications, many people are using a smart phone cradle these days. But it has some problems. First of all, it is hard to fix on automobiles. Also, it is vulnerable to external vibration. Recognizing these problems, we decided to improve this device by using FreeCAD and ANSYS. Because FreeCAD is newly invented software, we used another 3D modeling software to cover shortages of tools in FreeCAD. Also, we used famous analysis software 'ANSYS' to analyze bending deformation, modal analysis, and harmonic analysis.
