Design of the Adaptable Turtle World (적응형 거북 세계의 설계)

  • Educational programming languages help learners to easily understand and use computer system itself. They also enhance the reasoning power and the contemplative faculty of learners. However, in spite of the importance of educational programming languages in education, there has not been much research and development on them compared with general purpose programming languages. In this paper, we propose and examine a new educational programming environment TWo (Turtle World) which is designed for learners to utilize the recent information technologies. Aimed at being used as a learning and working tool for multimedia programming and processing, TWo is a web-based reflective object-oriented Hangul programming environment which provides each learner with the learning environment according to his intellectual ability to learn.

  • In this paper a simulation program for the powertrain control of a gasoline engine with automatic transmission is presented, The object-oriented programming approach has been pursued, and MATLAB/ SIMULINK was adopted for its environment. The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate the programmability of a control system in the object-oriented fashion so that the transferability of the objects is guaranteed. The program developed in the paper was applied to a gasoline engine and the mathematical models used in the paper were just adopted from the literature. It is shown that the simulation results and real experimental results coincide well. Therefore, it is expected that the program or objects made in the paper are useful for the automotive engineers when they design a new engine/transmission system or modify a part of existing system.

Steady-state flow analysis of pipe network (배관망 내의 정상상태 유동 해석)

  • A computer code based on a node equation method has been developed for the analysis of pipe network. Both data structure and object-oriented programming technique are used for pipe and node modelling, in which simplification process is applied to complicated and large pipe network. The semi-direct solver, ILU-CGS, improves greatly both the accuracy and the rate of convergence. The computational result of high-pressure pipe network of city gas in Taegu shows the good agreement with the real data.

  • In order to transform the underground utility data into the 3-D spatial objects, this thesis defined the type of the 3-D spatial objects and the storage structure of objects, and developed the spatial data transformation system that transforms the 2-D underground utility data into the pre-defined 3-D spatial objects through the Booch Method, an object-oriented development method. For this sake, the relational data model of ARC/INFO and the storage structure are analyzed, as well as the pre-requisites, required for the 3-D visualization of the underground utilities. Also, the 2-D underground utility data, saved in ARC/INFO, were transformed into the ASCII files through the internal pre-processing procedure, then used as the input data of the transformation system. In addition, to develop the transformation system, the object-oriented development methods are studied first and, then, applied to the system analysis and the design procedure with the Booch Method as a development method. Finally, the results of analysis and design procesure are implemented through AML, a ARC/INFO macro language, and C++, an object-oriented programing language. As a result of this study, the 3-D spatial objects that can visualize the 2-D utilities in 3-D, are acquired, and the adaptation of object-oriented development method to the system development procedure enabled an effective development prodedure.

  • An entity-based integrated design product and process model uses product and process entities to describe design information and design activities, respectively. The concepts and notation for product and process entities in the entity-based integrated design model are similar to the concepts of object-oriented programming languages such as C++ and Smalltalk. This paper uses C++ to program an entity-based integrated design model for building frames structures. The design information and activities involved in the three dimensional building space, the locations of frames, and the grouping of frames represented as entities in the entity-based integrated design model are transformed to C++ codes. Each product or process entity can be basically transformed to an class. The attributes of an entity can be defined as variables and member functions of a class.

  • 본 논문은 객체지향형 분산처리 환경 하에서 오디오나 비디오 등과 같은 실시간(real-time) 스트림(stream) 데이타를 처리하는 데 필요한 소프트웨어 기반구조를 설계하고 구현한 내용을 기술한다. 본 논문에서 제시한 DAViS(Distributed Object Framework supporting Audio/Video Streaming)는, 오디오/비디오 데이타의 처리와 관련된 여러 소프트웨어 구성요소들을 분산객체로 추상화하고, 그 객체들간의 제어정보 교환경로와 오디오/비디오 데이타 전송경로를 서로 분리하여 처리한다. 분산응용프로그램 작성자는 DAViS에서 제공하는 서비스들을 이용하여, 기존의 분산프로그래밍 환경이 제공하는 것과 동일한 수준에서 오디오/비디오 데이타에 대한 처리를 표현할 수 있다. DAViS는, 새로운 형식의 오디오/비디오 데이타를 처리하는 부분을 손쉽게 통합하고, 하부 네트워크의 전송기술이나 컴퓨터시스템 관련 기술의 진보를 신속하고 자연스럽게 수용할 수 있도록 하는 유연한 구조를 가지고 있다. Abstract This paper describes the design and implementation of software framework which supports the processing of real-time stream data like audio and video in distributed object-oriented computing environment. DAViS(Distributed Object Framework supporting Audio/Video Streaming), proposed in this paper, abstracts software components concerning the processing of audio/video data as distributed objects and separates the transmission path of data between them from that of control information. Based on DAViS, distributed applications can be written in the same abstract level as is provided by the existing distributed environment in handling audio/video data. DAViS has a flexible internal structure enough to easily incorporate new types of audio/video data and to rapidly accommodate the progress of underlying network and computer system technology with very little modifications.

  • The enterprise system is becoming more complex and larger. With the changes of the times, the system is developing to object-oriented programming method(OOP). However, the same code inserts to the core class repetitiously in the OOP, that causes a decrease in productivity and a trouble of application of another requirement. To solve this weak point, we propose a weaving mechanism what applies to metadata and crosscutting concern. For a class optimization and an integration between different languages, we take the following way. This paper uses three ways, those are, metadata generation using reflection, transformation to Abstract Syntax Tree, and mapping through crosscutting information specified XML. Through the proposed theory, class optimization can be accomplished by solving a functional decentralization and a confusion of codes.

  • This paper describes the development and implementation for the SYMBOLGEN(SYMBOL GENerator) software. The SYMBOL-GEN software is for improving graphic processing speed and decreasing data communication load in ASC by genera ting and downloading off-line symbol file for HUD and MFD , which are the main display equipments in military aircraft. The SYMBOL-GEN is developed on PC using C++ language and MS Visual Studio 6.0 development tool. It is also designed to be modified and extended easily by introducing object-oriented software development technique.

  • According evolution of computer technology, computers execute complex and several tasks. Because of the complexity of program and restriction of programming language, applications are implemented using one more programming language. But it is no general methodology for using several languages and implementing it. This paper classified usages of programming language integration and methodology for implements programming languages integration through HLID(Heterogeneous Language Integration Degree) for solving above problem. And using HLID, it designed and implemented Java Preprocessor that improvement JNI-current implementation for integration between object-oriented language Java and procedural language C.

  • The purpose of this study is to construct the AM/FM system for a university. The sample area used in this study is the Gyeongsang National University in Chinju City, Korea. The layout maps, which scale are 1/1200, 1/3000 and 1/5000, a map of planning of common duct, which scale is 1/1200, and the facility maps which scale is 1/200 were used for input of spatial data. The year of pipe buried, materials of pipe, pipe diameter, length of pipe, depth of pipe buried and slope of pipe buried were purpose of efficient data searching, analyzing, and processing. It was revealed that rapid providing of facility informations and efficient facility management are possible using the constructed the AM/FM system for a university.
