The Inflow of the Creative-Class and Forming of Cultural Landscape on the Kyunglidan-Gil (경리단길 창조계급의 유입과정과 문화경관 형성요인)

  • With the recent 'Creative economy' and 'Cultural prosperity' coming to the fore as a new code to build up a city or a region, it is necessary to focus on strengthening the regional creative capacity as well as developing spontaneous regional culture. In such trend this research aims to explore the Kyunglidan-gil, Seoul, Korea in which creative-class are appearing autogenously in clusters and forming new cultural landscape, to identify the factors of their accumulation and changing aspect of cultural landscape. This study has the following purposes: First, Investigating the historical context of the Kyunglidan-gil's landscape. Second, considering the process of the creative-class being flowed into the Kyunglidan-gil as the subject leading to the modification of the region. Third, their activity was analyzed to consider the unique aspect of forming the cultural landscape at the Kyunglidan-gil. Regarding why the creative-class should flow in, results of the study drew five factors including region in issue compared to inexpensive rents, coexistence with nature, quiet atmosphere seeming isolated from the urban confusion, location possible to test and share individual materials one likes, and a site with synergy effect of activity through the network with acquaintances. Also, five characteristics of cultural landscape forming by the people's activity were drawn - space of communication for increasing creativity, temporary and flexible spatial use, expression of one's identity and taste, distinguishing, and positive use of the existing facilities. Like this, by exposing the 'creative-class', a subject of the leader in changing process of the Kyunglidan-gil, this research identified the aspect of forming cultural landscape.

Research on the current conditions of cultural heritage management in North Korea - an example of the management of provincial sites - (북한의 문화유산 관리 현황 연구 - 지방의 유적 관리 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • Both as a means of improving North-South relations, as well as a necessary component for carrying out research on the past of the Korean peninsula, interest in North Korean cultural resources has been growing in South Korean society. As a result, studies have begun to look beyond North Korean cultural resources themselves and attempt to determine how cultural resources are managed in North Korea. Such studies have tended to investigate laws related to the management of cultural heritage in North Korea, but information gleaned from laws alone is limited. To provide a more complete picture, research must also investigate how cultural resource management laws are applied and enforced and also take into consideration aspects of cultural resource management that are not directed or regulated by law. In this study, we refer to the current National Cultural Resources Protection Laws in order to investigate systems of cultural resource management in North Korea. Furthermore, we conducted interviews with a former North Korean national who had until recently worked as a director of historical sites in North Korea. Through comparisons of information relating to organization, labor power, responsibilities, budget, and other factors of cultural resource management gained through the interviews and the 'National Cultural Resources Protection Laws,' we hoped to gain a fuller understanding of the reality of cultural resource management in North Korea. As a result, we were able to gain a better understanding of the organization and tasks related to cultural resource management and, at the same time, clarify some of the provisions that were unclear in the laws. Throughout the process, we were also able to determine that the management of cultural resources in North Korea is currently inadequate. However, because this study focuses on a specific region and is limited only to historical sites, it is difficult to generalize our findings to the entirety of cultural resource management in North Korea. In order to gain an objective and more accurate understanding of the current state of cultural resource management in North Korea, information must be collected at many levels to be synthesized and compared.

Improvement of State Ownership of Excavated Cultural Heritage System and Establishment of Policy Direction (발굴매장문화재 국가귀속제도의 정책 개선방안 연구)

  • State Ownership of Excavated Cultural Heritage System was originated from the legislations concerning cultural objects during the Japanese colonial period (1910~1945) and was succeeded by the present Buried Cultural Properties Act enacted in 2011. Despite the importance of the system that completes the outcomes of excavations and determines the state-owned cultural properties, the foundation of national heritage, it has been limitedly regarded as administrative area and neglected by the academic scholars or policy researchers. Recently the traditional culture has drawn increasing domestic interest and awareness that the cultural heritage contributes to building cultural identity and vitalizing tourism has led to increasing the demand of a local government's role in management of the state-designated cultural heritage and even fighting for hegemony in securing the cultural objects between the central and local governments. Despite the continuing efforts for improving the selection process of cultural heritage and its management institution, establishment of an advanced objective system has been requested. This paper is intended to suggest the policy direction through demonstrating the problem and assignment caused in the process of implementing the Buried Cultural Properties Act and reviews the State Ownership of Excavated Cultural Heritage System from the legal point of view accordingly. First, I suggest improving the selection process of the state-owned cultural properties. Even though current law states that Administrator of Cultural Heritage Administration reviews the research reports and selects the possible candidates for the state-owned cultural properties almost all the cultural objects listed on the reports are practically selected. In this regard, two possible resolutions can be made; newly establishing a separate process for selecting the state-owned cultural properties after publishing the report or adding the selection process of the state-owned cultural properties during the heritage selection meeting. Either way should contribute to strengthening the impartiality and objectivity of the policy. My second suggestion is improving the operating system of the heritage selection meeting in which the cultural properties to be listed on the reports are determined. Given the present extensive assessment criteria, there is much room for certain experts' subjective opinions. Therefore, in order to enhance the fairness and credibility of the heritage selection meeting, specifying the assessment criteria and advance review of the expert list are necessary. Third, this paper suggests increasing the local government's role in management of the state-owned cultural heritage and diversifying the heritage management institution. Development of a local self-governing system has led to the increased demand for delegating the authority of the state-owned heritage management to the local governments. Along with this, the gradual improvements of public museum management raises the need for expanding the cultural benefits through increasing the local government's role in management of the state-owned heritage. Considering the fact that overall majority of the art collections housed at national or public museums is owned by the central government, developing a variety of heritage contents and vitalizing the heritage tourism are crucial. The true meaning and value of the state-owned cultural heritage hidden at the storage of a museum can be found when they are shared together with the public.

  • Being a symbolic image to let traditional 'mother wonlee' contents characters known widely, need to be made in a way that can deliver the powerful message of korea An-dong traditional local contents and the value of regent story. As for the contents character develope methods and the scope of the study, an theoretical study was conducted based on literature review, and, factor plus fiction field surveys, and the legend story and then an effect of character marketing on global contents with original identity. 'mother wonlee' pre-production plaining have been analysis with creative described based on the ancients features and the classification of ancient original characters, and the situation and the concept of An-dong local place. as a results this thesis is show up how to make up a main character develop processing and make a features design processing of the characters who different age and a scenes. as a conclusion is drawing about a 'Wonlee' and 'Eungtea' both main Character plaining processing and graphics; traditional face, all clothes, body proportion, etc. Also we trade to traditional patten with character planing. it will be a high value industry which facilitates a variety of industries in conjunction with marketing traditional source characters in global. Recognizing the value of traditional story main character design and graphics marketing and utilizing the value through various media will create infinite value, enabling the global marketing.

A Study on Satisfaction Survey for the Revitalization of the Ancient Capital Cities in Korea (고도(古都)보존육성에 관한 만족도 조사 분석)

  • This study examines Korea's revitalization policy on the ancient capital cities, which has been set out for preserving and improving living quality of the local communities. Since it was established, the policy has faced with constant challenges such as the lack of funding for preservation and revitalization of local communities. This study aims at providing a set of recommendation on the problems on the policy. In order for the study, it takes objective and empirical analysis on the problems of the policy by executing survey on the satisfaction level of the stakeholders and policy-makers on the present policy. The survey has displayed that the government needs to 1. subsidize more budget, 2. set out a policy to reduce the inconvenience of local communities 3. establish a supportive program to help the present promotion policy. In addition, the survey analysis has proved that the elements of revitalization policy affect to the increase of satisfaction. It concludes with a set of recommendation, 1. to secure sufficient budget to implement the policy; 2. to reduce a restriction of individual rights; 3. to promote the supporting program of local community; 4. to establish governance system with officers, experts, residents, and research institutes.

Studies on the Quality Evaluation of Korean Red Pepper by Color Measurement (색소측정에 의한 고추의 품질평가에 관한 연구)

  • The general properties(size, shape, fruit constituents) of ten different varieties of dried red pepper and the proximate chemical composition, carotenoids content and Hunter color values of their powders were examined in order to establish an objective instrumental method to evaluate the consumer acceptability of red pepper powder. The results of instrumentally measured color values were compared with the sensory acceptability data obtained from 100 housewives in Korea. Red carotenoid consisted of 68-85% of total carotenoids, while ${\beta}-carotene$ content showed close relationship with the sensory color preference. The values of Hunter color system, L,a,b and axL, showed significant relationships with the sensory color preference. Especially, axL value had close relationship with both color preference and pungency intensity of red pepper. Therefore, we suggest the consumer acceptability of red pepper powder can be determined instrumentally by axL value of colorimeter. Sensory acceptability=0.02001(axL)-12.5774

A study on Regional Disparity of Youth Cultural Welfare (청소년문화복지 지역격차연구 - 충청지역을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to present foundational data to promote the cultural welfare status of youth. The actual condition of the youth's cultural welfare was investigated by investigating the degree of youth's cultural welfare satisfaction and needs by regional groups. A total of 1486 questionnaires were used for the final data analysis. The analysis revealed the following results. 1. Actual conditions of adolescents cultural welfare. 1) Among various cultural activities, adolescents find leisure and social activity, artistic, mass media and video-media activities very boring and one-sided, Instead, they have greater interest in computer- and Internet-related activities, such as getting and sharing information and communication. 2) While adolescents living in urban areas benefit from well developed social infra-structure, those living in rural areas seldom take advantage of it. 3) The obstacles against cultural welfare of the youth can be categorized as: 'lack of money,' 'lack of time,' and 'lack of cultural facilities. ' In urban areas 'lack of time' becomes an issue, whereas in rural areas 'lack of money' and 'lack of cultual facilities' are important. 2. Degree of cultural welfare satisfaction of the youths. Youths generally appear either 'unsatisfied' or 'neutral' concerning their satisfaction degree about leisure and social activity parts, and art and play-activity paris. On the other hand, they appear 'neutral' concerning their satisfaction degree about computer- and Internet-related information and communication parts, and mass- and video-media activity parts. In addition, urban youths show a higher degree of satisfaction than rural youths. 3. What the youths need To improve their culture welfare status, they need a lot of supplements for cultural activity in the form of cultural infra-structure. Regarding the cultural infra-structure, rural youths need more than urban youths.

A Phenomenological Study on Multicultural Adolescents' Career Preparation Out of School (학교밖 중도입국 청소년의 진로준비에 대한 현상학적 융합연구)

  • The purpose of this study provides multicultural adolescents' out of school career preparation experience. Seven multicultural adolescents out of school living in Seoul, Gyeonggido, Chungchungdo were selected for the in-depth interview. Data were collected from July to September, 2019. This research utilized Colaizzi's phenomenological method. The participants provided 14 themes on the essential structure of experience and 5 theme clusters. The final 14 themes were relationship with friends, speedy learning ability, fear of learning, generous character, no dreaming, enjoying hobby, influence of job, influence of mother, no concept of career, looking for mother language-related job, no managing time and health, material abundance, trying diet, burden about test. Based on this result, it is suggested to acknowledge importance of positive motive pursuit for career, various support giving power, positive attitude of career, self-reflection, road to go for career preparation.

A study on Improved De-Interlacing Applying Newton Difference Interpolation (Newton 차분법을 이용한 개선된 디인터레이싱 연구)

  • We propose an improved de-interlacing method that converts the interlaced images into the progressive images by one field. In the first, Inter-pixel values are calculated by applying Newton's forward difference, backward difference interpolation from upper and lower 5 pixel values. Using inter-pixel values obtained from upper and lower 5 pixel values, it makes more accurate a direction estimate by applying the correlation between upper and lower pixel. If an edge direction is determined from the correlation, a missing pixel value is calculated into the average of upper and lower pixel obtained from predicted direction of edge. From simulation results, it is shown that the proposed method improves subjective image quality at edge region and objective image quality at 0.2~0.3dB as quantitative calculation result of PSNR, compared to previous various de-interlacing methods.

  • This study attempts to suggest a model on the factors of the experiential intent. We propose a model that includes (1) the entertainment, aesthetic, empathy, information as exogenous constructs, (2) utilitarian value and hedonic value, as mediating constructs (3) experiential intent, as endogenous construct. To test the model, we analyze the data using the LISREL structural modeling. The results of our analyses suggest, as expected, that program traits -entertainment, aesthetic, empathy, information- influence utilitarian value and hedonic value, in turn, utilitarian value and hedonic value influence the experiential intent. We conclude with a discussion of managerial implications, including the potential to advance understanding the factors of experiential intent on broadcast program.
