  • This paper is implementation of cellular automata neural network system using evolving hardware concept. This system is a living creatures'brain based on artificial life techniques. Cellular automata neural network system is based on the development and the evolution, in other words, it is modeled on the ontogeny and phylogney of natural living things. The phylogenetic mechanism are fundamentally non-deterministic, with the mutation and recombination rate providing a major source of diversity. Ontogeny is deterministic and local physics. Cellular automata is developed from initial cells, and evaluated in given environment. And genetic algorithms take a part in adaptation process. In this paper we implement this system using evolving hardware concept. Evolving hardware is reconfigurable hardware whose configuration si under the control of an evolutionary algorithm. We design genetic algorithm process for evolutionary algorithm and cells in cellular automata neural network for the construction of reconfigurable system. The effectiveness of the proposed system if verified by applying it to Exclusive-OR.

  • Criticality prediction models that identify fault-prone spots using system design specifications play an important role in reducing development costs of large systems such as telecommunication systems. Many criticality prediction models using complexity metrics have been suggested. But most of them need training data set for model training. And they are classification models that can only classify design entities into fault-prone group and non fault-prone group. To solve this problem, this paper builds a new prediction model, HMM, using two styled hybrid metrics. HMM has strong point that it does not need training data and it enables comparison between design entities by criticality. HMM is implemented and compared with a well-known prediction model, BackPropagation neural network Model(BPM), considering internal characteristics and accuracy of prediction.

  • Database Integration problems has been recognized as a critical issue for effective logistics service in logistics environment. However, researches related to effective methodology for this have been studied theoretically in the DB schema integration, are insufficient in the side of the system realization. The aim of this paper is to present a schema integration technique to integrate DB using XML(eXtensible Markup Language) in the part of practical DB integration, a quantitative methodology for the identification of conflict that is a representative problem on database integration. To achieve this aim, we extracted the entity name and attribute name from DB schema and suggested a quantitative methodology to easily fine name conflict that frequently give raise to a trouble when schema integration, based on the level of semantic similarity between attributes and entities.

  • In this review, the compositions of the sex pheromones of 22 lepidopteran species were analyzed and briefly arranged by comparing the research results conducted in different locations worldwide. These compositions can be used as monitoring tools for pests of rice, maize, leguminous crops, perilla, and sesame in Korea. The sex pheromone compounds and those compositions of four species were successfully identified within Korean populations. The optimal compositions of sex pheromones of three other species were selected through behavioral studies using synthetic chemicals of the known pheromone compounds in laboratories and fields, without chemical identification processes in the sex pheromone compounds of Korean populations. For a few species, the roles of the minor components of the sex pheromone volatiles should be re-assessed for use in the development of optimal monitoring lures.

  • The distributed war-game simulation system has been used to represent the virtual battlefield environment. In order to produce a simulation result, simulators connected from a network transfer messages with location information of simulated objects to a central simulation server. This network traffic is an immediate cause of system performance degradation. Therefore, the paper proposes a system to manage and control network traffic generated from distributed war-game simulation. The proposed system determines the moving distance of simulated objects and filters location messages by a distance threshold which is controlled according to system conditions like network traffic and location error. And, the system predicts the next location of simulated objects to minimize location error caused by message filtering. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system is effective to control the network traffic of distributed war-game simulation systems and reduce the location error of simulated objects.

  • In NEMO scenarios, mobile node's variety of movements and mobile router's point of attachment changes can result in handover. This handover process needs additional time to finish due to the multiple levels of indirection involved in NEMO. And the performance issues of mobile node's handover such as handover delay and packet loss in above cases haven't been studied thoroughly. So, in this paper, we define fast handover failure cases in hierarchical mobile IPv6 network based NEMO. We briefly described NEMO architecture and handover procedures of FMIPv6 and HMIPv6. And then, we classified mobile node or mobile router's movement pattern into several scenarios. Analysis for the fast handover classified NEMO scenarios, in terms of handover latency and packet delivery cost have been performed.

  • This paper presents the time-segmented storage structure in order to increment search performance and the two data migration strategies: migration by Time Granularity and migration by LST-GET. In the migration strategy by Time Granularity, we describe how to assign entity version to the past, current segment, and future segments. We also describe searching and moving processes for data validity at a granularity level. In the migration strategy by LST-GET, we describe how to computer the value of dividing criterion. We simulate the search performance of the proposed segmented storage structure in comparison with the conventional storage structure in comparison with the conventional storage structure in relational database system. Finally, extensive simulation studies are performed in order to compare the search performance of the migration strategies with the time-segmented storage structure.

  • This study deals with the user task that is the goal of development of RDA (Resource Description & Access), an international standard for future bibliographic description. RDA seeks to implement the user task based on FRBR-FRAD model. User task could be composed of two areas: (1) find, identify, select, and obtain of bibliographic resources in information seeking and (2) find, identify, clarify, and understand of entities related to resources (i.e., person, family, corporate, concept, etc.). This research analyzes how the resource is defined with entity, attributes, and relationship in RDA based on the conceptual model of FRBR-FRAD. And this finally shows the ways of supporting user task in RDA.

  • In this paper, we review essential constituents of a dialogue interface system and propose practical methods to implement the each constituent. The implemented system consists of a discourse manager, an intention analyzer, a named entity recognizer, a SQL query generator, and a response generator. In the progress of implementation, the intention analyzer uses a maximum entropy model based on statistics because the domain dependency of the intention analyzer is comparatively low. The others use a simple pattern matching method because they needs high domain portability. In the experiments in a schedule arrangement domain, the implemented system showed the precision of 88.1% in intention analysis and the success rate of 83,4% in SQL query generation.
