Personal information protection has become one of the most impending business issues because leakage of personal information can cause tremendous financial losses and image degradation. Consequently, personal information protection initiatives have been recognized widely in business. To invigorate personal information protection investments, performance measurement method such as cost benefits analysis or qualitative analyses are needed, which have not been studied enough in the previous studies. This study proposes a performance measurement model which can include quantitative and qualitative analyses in the context of personal information protection investments. A comparative analysis has been performed on security investment and IT investment performance measurements, which leads to choose the WiBe method (developed by the German Interior Ministry), considering the privacy characteristics and the method's applicability. In particular, the quantitative effect measured how proactive threat assessment based on the way according to the nature of the businesses and organizations of privacy and possible investment decisions. This study proposes the 16 performance indicators, which turn out to be meaningful in terms of their materiality and feasibility by conducting focus group interviews of 25 experts on personal information protection.

A field of privacy protection lacks statistical information about the current status, compared to other fields. On top of that, since it has not been classified as a concrete separate field, the related survey is only conducted as a part of such concrete areas. Furthermore, this trend of being regarded as a part of fields such as informatization, information protection and law will continue in the near future. In this paper, a novel and practical way for collecting and storing a big amout of data from 110,000 privacy policies by data controller is proposed and the real analysis results is also shown. The proposed method can save time and cost compared with the traditional survey-based method while maintaining or even advancing the accuracy of results and speediness of process. The collected big personal data can be used to set up various kinds of statistical models and they will play an important role as a breakthrough of observing the present status of privacy information protection policy. The big data concept is incorporated into the privacy protection and we can observe the method and some results throughout the paper.

By studying the awareness level of students, for the need to protect personal information, and also by studying students' level of perception as to which information needs protection, this study aims to show that increased education is beneficial, and necessary, across all university majors. This increased education is necessary to improve information security, and increase the responsible sharing of private data which has many benefits, specifically in the Healthcare field. Utilizing student volunteers across multiple majors at a university in South Korea. These questionnaires measured the students' awareness of private information, their perception of private information and also the students' experience in receiving university level education regarding private information and the need for its protection. This study shows that, when compared to students in other fields, students in the field of public health had a higher level of awareness regarding the consequences of personal information disclosure for both public purposes and medical research. Within the parameters of this study, this outcome can be explained as the result of exposure to educational curriculum which contained information related to personal information protection. This increased education raised the student's awareness of which information is considered private, as well as, which information is valuable when responsibly shared. As a result, this study shows that an increase in education regarding information privacy, should be included in all university majors, and gives us evidence to support that this additional education is valuable to students at all levels and should be encouraged.

최근 측위 장치와 모바일 단말 장치, 이동 통신 기술이 발달함에 따라 위치기반서비스에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 위치기반서비스는 이용자에게 편리하고 유용한 정보를 제공하지만 개인의 프라이버시를 침해할 수 있는 가능성을 함께 가지고 있다. 특히 개인이 깨닫지 못하는 사이에 측위 장치가 탑재되어, 개인의 위치가 제3자에 의해 추적된다면 심각한 프라이버시 침해라 할 수 있다. 이러한 개인 위치정보를 보호하기 위해서는 법적인 규제와 기술적인 장치가 함께 마련되어야 한다. 이 논문에서는 위치정보를 보호하기 위한 위치정보보호시스템을 제시한다. 제시된 위치정보보호시스템은 법적인 규제와 표준 그리고 위치정보를 보호하기 위한 방법들이 설계 및 구현되어 있다.

최근 전 세계적으로 스마트, 모바일, 클라우드 등 새로운 형태의 컴퓨팅 환경속에서 정보의 집적화, 대량화가 점차 확대됨에 따라 개인 정보의 유출 가능성은 날로 높아지고 있다. 오늘날 개인정보는 개인의 권익에 관한 문제로 국한되는 것이 아닌 기업의 사활을 좌지우지하는 비즈니스 이슈이다. 특히 국내 개인정보보호법의 전면적인 법 시행 후 규제대상이 아니던 기업 종업원의 개인정보는 물론 문서형태의 개인정보까지를 규제대상으로 삼고 있어 개인정보보호 시장이 크게 확대될 것으로 전망된다. 본 논문에서는 개인정보보호와 관련하여 국내외 컴플라이언스를 비교분석하여 기업이 보다 효과적으로 IT컴플라이언스를 준수할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다.

This study was conducted with the goal to identify the degree to which elementary school students' knowledge about personal information protection practices impacted their actual behavior with regard to privacy protection. To fulfill this goal, knowledge about personal information protection was set as (1) knowledge about concepts of personal information, (2) knowledge of the rights of information holders, (3) knowledge about the code of conduct for information protection, and (4) awareness of the value of personal information. As for students' behaviors to ensure their personal information protection those were set as their habits to comply with the personal in-formation protection code of conduct and their efforts to respond and recover from any personal information violation. This study was conducted targeting 510 elementary students. The degree of the students' knowledge and their behaviors was measured by first distributing a self-report survey to the students and then analyzing their responses. The results of the analysis revealed the following: First, it was found that there are no differences among the four factors of knowledge and behavior according to the status of their education. Second, the two factors that primarily affected their personal information protection behavior were found to be their awareness of the information protection code of conduct and awareness of the value of personal information. This study holds significance in that it makes suggestions as to how personal protection practices should be taught to public school students.

Big Data is strictly positioning one of method to deal with problems faced with mankind, not an icon of revolution in future anymore. Application of Big Data and protection of personal information have contradictoriness. When we weight more to usage of Big Data, someone's privacy is necessarily invaded. otherwise, we care more about keeping safe of individual information, only low-level of research using Big Data can be used to accomplish public purpose. In this study, we propose a method to anonymize Big Data collected in order to investigate the problems of personal information infringement and utilize Big Data and protect personal. This will solve the problem of personal information infringement as well as utilizing Big Data.

The government was fully aware of the gravity of a recent massive leak of personal information of credit card users. Meanwhile, the government just took a light disciplinary action by imposing a fine, but it showed its intention to strengthen the regulations by taking the severest disciplinary action. The tightened regulations against personal information leak will be applied to the private security industry without exception to protect individual people's property and lives if such an incident occurs in that industry that deals with a wide variety of personal information such as CCTV data or privacy information all the time. The purpose of this study was to examine the state of the protection and management of personal information for service users among private security firms in an effort to suggest some reform measures. The findings of the study were as follows: First, administrators or managers who are involved with personal information protection should make a full-fledged effort to gather information. Second, counseling or related programs should be provided for small and mid-sized security firms to guarantee thorough personal information protection. Third, Korea Security Association should improve the educational system related to personal information protection to resolve problems with this education currently provided for managers and employees of these companies.

As digital advertising industry grows, consumers' concerns over personal information protect also rise. Thus, the current study is designed to explore college students' perspectives on digital behavioral advertising and personal information protection through in-depth interviews. According to study results, importance of personal information protection is highly regarded among college students and interviewees suggest individuals, companies, and government organizations work together to protect personal information. College students' behavioral level of personal information protection can be divided into three levels such as 1) no-action taken, 2) passive response, and 3) active response. The study found that college students' attitude toward digital behavioral advertising is positive and also negative at the same time. Lastly, the study suggests that college students have positive attitude toward companies' personal information collection and use for the marketing purpose such as digital behavioral advertising. At the discussion section this study puts emphasis on the need for digital media literacy education and suggests practical implications for personal information collection and its procedures.

지난 3월 10일 삼성동 코엑스 3층 컨퍼런스홀에서 KISA가 '정보보호 연구성과물 전시 및 발표회'를 가졌다. 그동안 KISA는 민간기업과 일반 사용자를 위한 침해사고 대응, 정보보호 인식제고, 정보보호 정책수립 기관으로서의 이미지가 강했던 것이 사실이다. 그런 KISA가 이번 발표회를 통해 정보보호 연구개발 분야에서도 중추적 역할을 하고 있음을 스스로 입증했다. 이날 발표회에서는 신규 융합서비스 보호기술, 인터넷 침해사고 대응기술, 개인정보 유출 방지기술 등 3개 분야의 10개 핵심기술 전시와 설명회가 460여명의 산 학 연 보안전문가가 참석한 가운데 성황리에 이뤄졌다. 기업 정보보호 담당자들에게는 최신 보안동향 및 기술에 대한 정보를 제공하고 보안 실무에 직접 적용 가능한 기술들이 선보인 이번 발표회의 주요 내용을 지면을 통해 소개해 본다.
