A practical model for predicting the risk of fatigue failure of steel highway bridges is developed in this study. The proposed model is derived from fatigue reliability methods by incorporating various factors which may affect the fatigue life of bridges. The fatigue reliability function is assumed to follow the Weibull distribution. The computational form of the Weibull is adopted from Ang-Munse's approach that includes all the statistical uncertainties of the fatigue life of steel members and the stress ranges under variable amplitude loadings. The model accounts for the variation in ADTT, the change in stress history and the effects of inspections, which may occur during the serivce life of bridges. Stress range histograms are collected from the random stress spectra based on the field measurements of an existing bridge, and, thus, the resulting stress range frequency distribution is modelled with a beta distribution. The results of applications of the proposed fatigue analysis methods to an existing bridge show that the proposed models with the computer program developed for numerical computations can be used as a practical tool for the fatigue rating or for the predictions of the remaining fatigue life of deteriorated existing steel bridges.

In our country, nation-wide forest road works are being carried out as one of the efforts to bolster the international competitiveness of agriculture, however such environmental problems as sediment discharge and water quality degradation accompany such efforts more often than not. Hence, in this research report, we compile and analyze the Japanese sources dealing with the "research direction of the forest road construction", "environmental impact assessment upon the watershed of the forest road construction", "environmentally-sound forest road construction and its research method" in consideration of the fact that natural environment of Japan is similar to that of our country and Japanese forest road works has a long history. We hope that this report be useful to the reasonable watershed management and the environmentally-sound forest road works.

Well organized design based education is the one of the best way to develop the abilities needed for the engineer such as the recognizing and formulating a problem and then solving it creatively and systematically. In order for this, we prepared a course named 'Introduction to the Engineering Design' for the first-year students, which aims at developing creativity and ability to promote a project. Experiment-design mixed courses and theory-design mixed courses, where students have to solve various design problems, are provided for the higher grade students. In this paper, we are focused on the experiment-design mixed course for the second-year students which has been operating from two years ago. Here we show how the teamwork ability is improved. We also present how to operate the course in detail so that anyone can easily get the way to reach the outcomes needed for the engineers.

This study proposed to assess courses which are currently offered in the Department of Library and Information Science, and to explore directions for improvement. Based on field librarians' needs and opinions about the courses, we suggested separating the required, core, and elective courses. We proposed six courses including 'Internship', 'Introduction to Library and Information Science', 'Cataloging and Classification', 'Library Management', and 'Information Retrieval' as required courses, and 5 courses including 'Practice in Cataloging and Classification', 'Information Resource and Service', 'Collection Development', 'Digital Library System', 'Introduction to Bibliography' and 'Records Management and Archives' as core courses. Finally, the remaining courses were recommended as selective courses which each department could select depending on their circumstances and faculty. The important components for substantial LIS courses are as follows: timeliness of training topics, expertise of educational contents, professionalism and qualifications of faculty, specialized educational materials, and increasing the major correlation between courses and professors.

Theoretically, this study reviewed effects that career orientation and entrepreneurial support programs as entrepreneurial support program of participation have on entrepreneurial intention. Based on this review, a research model was made. Then, this study empirically analyzed research hypotheses by classifying universities which establish entrepreneurship courses supported by Small and Medium Business Administration (as of 2006) and ones which do not into Seoul and regions, and business department and engineering department. Results of the empirical analysis were summarized as follows: First, career orientation was not significant in terms of entrepreneurial support program of participation. Second, autonomy orientation, technical competence orientation, managerial competence orientation, and entrepreneurial creativity orientation out of career orientation had significant positive effects on entrepreneurial intention, while security orientation resulted the same significantly positive effects but statistically insignificant. Third, entrepreneurial support program of participation had significant influence on entrepreneurial intention.

In order to develop education centered animation course, this study aims to research curricular that are equipped with industrial specialty based on the basic of visual arts. The subjects of the study were the international and domestic universities that have education goals of practical education, art education, and combined-typed education. The research was done by classifying curricular from basic course to advanced course. Production stage was divided into planning-production-follow up stage. The idea area was divided into three parts form basic emotion training to creativity development. This paper is focused on presenting to configure the basic features of the educational center for 4-year curriculum based on the course content and curriculum of international and domestic universities. The study of training course required for the configuration of the course of study focused on subjects which match the characteristics of major curriculum based on common subjects, major required courses, major electives were classified as the opening. As a result, It is difficult to lead common of educational contents because of the study of education-oriented curriculum and interdisciplinary educational goals of each university are different from other individual characteristics

The purpose of this study is to explain the regional transformation in the lowest level administration district(Myeon). The major factor of regional transformation is the change of geographical range, identity of place name, the formation and change of regional center. Jo-Chon Myeon as a sample study region is located in near Jeon-Ju city. The large and dynamic city in neighbor is strong influenced to the change of geographical range. But the place name has Identity in spite of the regional change. The formation of new regional center is influenced by new road, rail road and station, japanese large farm, administration office in this district.

Information skill, which means information technology skill and information handling skill, is related to the aims and processes of higher education as a knowledge creation activity. In this study, a curriculum design is proposed for the development of the information literate student. The framework of this curriculum derives form the US Information literacy standards for higher education 2000, the UK Information skills in higher education 2004, and Australian and New Zealand Information literacy framework 2004. The teaching plan and content is based on the information literacy programs of NMSU, CSU Hayward, and IUE. It is proposed that the development of the idea of information literacy requires a collaborative and integrated approach to curriculum design and delivery based on investigation of user's satisfaction with the curriculum.

The social media paradigm centered on videos continues to deepen due to the diversification of 5G devices, high-definition and immersive SNS. The purpose of this study is to propose various utilization strategies and measures through the analysis of the current status of YouTube channel operation and provided contents operated in public libraries. In this study, 44 libraries in Korea that have opened and operated Library YouTube Channel and 12 libraries that actively utilize library YouTube channels with more than 1,000 subscribers were surveyed for the current status of subscribers, views, video count data, and contents and delivery methods of Library YouTube Channel. Based on the analysis results, the library's YouTube channel was proposed to utilize the library's YouTube channel, 1) to secure the specificity and purpose of the library's YouTube channel, 2) to promote and enhance access to the YouTube channel, 3) to improve the YouTube channel to user-friendly interface, 5) to plan and provide library expertise and educational contents, 6) to operate the integrated YouTube channel, and 7) to provide user-based content.

The importance of business ethics has been increased as time goes on. However, there are lacks of education and research in business ethics, domestically and internationally. Especially, in Korea, there are not many universities which teach business ethics as formal curriculum and there are not sufficient researches on business ethics. Also, the level of education of business ethics is only restricted to the type of case discussion and research of business ethics is focused only on one topic, corporate social responsibility which is only one of various and important topics in business ethics. Accordingly, as a qualitative research, this paper presents some directions that are essential to education and research in business ethics, discusses what has been educated and researched in business ethics, and proposes what are necessary for the future of education and research in business ethics. Based on this research, various researches which investigate various topics in business ethics are possible in the future.
