A Research of the suitable Area and Module in Elementary School Classroom - Focusing on Elementary Schools of Northern Province of Gyeonggi-do - (초등학교 일반교실의 필요 면적과 모듈에 관한 연구 - 경기북부지역 초등학교를 중심으로-)

  • Before long the number of Elementary School students per class will be 20 in Korea, but the current Area and Module of Elementary School are planned for 30 students. Therefore, necessary Area and Module for less than 20 students should be prepared. The purpose of this research is to find out necessary Area and Module for less than 20 students in Elementary School Classroom. I researched 60 Classrooms of 10 Elementary Schools before 2 researches of mine, and researched the sizes of every path in the classrooms. With the Plans for 20 students, I found the conclusion as follows: First, the one-way class requires a minimum of 5.4m×8.1m (43.74m2), a maximum of 5.4m×8.7m (48.6m2). Second, the 3-row alignment class requires a minimum of 7.2m×7.2m (51.84m2), a maximum of 7.5m×7.5m (56.25m2). Third, the group study class requires a minimum of 6.0m×8.7m (52.2m2), a maximum of 6.3m×9.3m (58.59m2). Fourth, the group study class requires a minimum of 2.34m2, a maximum of 14.85m2 more than the one-way class. Fifth, the suitable module which fits both 2-row alignment class and group study class except the 3-row alignment class is 6.0m×8.7m (52.2m2).

The Effects of Communication Competence, Clinical Competence and Experience of Handover on Self-efficacy of Handover Reporting among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 의사소통능력, 임상수행능력, 인수인계 경험이 인수인계 자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate communication competence, clinical competence and experience of handover which influence self-efficacy of handover among nursing students. The study design was a descriptive survey. A total of 255 students were recruited from nursing departments in G-city. Structured questionnaire was self-administrated from June to September, 2019. The collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. As results of the study, communication competence 57.3, clinical competence 69.8 and self-efficacy of handover was 33.8. Self-efficacy of handover had significant differences in gender(F=4.60, p<.001), age(F=16.72, p<.001), grade(t=-6.39, p<.001), satisfaction of clinical practice(F=3.68, p=.027), education experience about handover(t=26.44, p<.001), experience of handover(t=4.84, p<.001), fear of handover(F=16.97, p<.001), and handover importance of patient's safety(F=6.42, p=.002). Self-efficacy of handover had significant positive correlations with communication competence(r=.249, p<.001) and clinical competence(r=.426, p<.001). In multiple regression analysis, fear of handover(β=-.294, p<.001), clinical competence(β=.252, p<.001), grade(β=.191, p=.001), experience of handover(β=.185, p<.001), gender(β=.150, p=.003), and education experience about handover(β=.126, p=.017) were significant factors of self-efficacy of handover explaining 40.0%(F=29.26, p<.001) of the variables. In conclusion, to enhance self-efficacy of handover for nursing students, it is necessary to develop educational program for increasing experiences of handover, education experience about handover, and clinical competence.

Operation and Perception on Dietary Life Education and Nutrition Counseling of Elementary School in Chungbuk Province (충북지역 초등학교 영양교사의 식생활 교육과 영양상담 운영실태 및 인식)

  • The purpose of this study is to present a more effective nutrition education activation plan. As a result of investigating the dietary education operating situation, 58.9% underwent direct education, and 89.5% underwent food life education through traditional food culture succeeding business operation. The results from investigating the recognition regarding dietary education are as follows. The activation level by education types was as low as 2.24 points, the necessity was as high as 4.54 points, the difficult point in performing food life education was 'overwork' with 4.43 points, and the teaching activity ability level was 'can effectively prepare a teaching guidance plan' at 2.96 points. As a result of investigating the nutrition consultation operating situations, 62.8% underwent it and all of the students as well as some parents and teachers performed it. The consumed time per consultation for effective nutrition consultation was 10~20 minutes, the required education equipment and data were 'consultation program' with 40.3%, and the important content during consultation was 'contents related to eating habits' with 70.5%, which was recognized as the most important.

A Study on the Investigation of Sanitary Knowledge and Practice Level of School Foodservice Employees in Jeonju (전주지역 학교급식 조리종사자의 위생지식 및 위생관리 수행에 관한 연구)

  • This study was to investigate the sanitary knowledge and its practice level of school foodservice employees in Jeonju area. A total of 508 questionnaires were usable; resulting in 79.0$\%$ response rate. Statistics data analysis was completed using the SPSS 10.0 program. The results of this study were summarized as follow : About 62$\%$ of school foodservice employees were 41 $\∼$50 years old and 84$\%$ of them had a irregular job and they had a sanitation training at least once a month. The school foodservice employees had more knowledge about 'personal hygiene' than that about 'equipment and facilities sanitation', 'foodborn disease and food microorganism' Their hygiene practice level were high for 'equipment and facilities sanitation' (4.90$\pm$0.25) and were lesser in the order from 'foodborn disease and food microorganism'(4.86$\pm$0.30), 'personal sanitation'(4.79$\pm$0.34) and the least for food processing hygiene (4.70$\pm$0.37). As a result of relationship between knowledge and hygiene practice level, knowledge of school foodservice employees was not influenced on tile hygiene practice level during their working.

Dietary Habits and Foodservice Attitudes of Students Attending American International Schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi Area (서울.경기지역 외국인 학교 학생들의 식습관 및 급식만족도 -미국계 외국인 학교를 중심으로-)

  • This study was designed to obtain basic data for the globalization of Korean food and the expansion of food exports through contract foodservices. A survey of dietary habits and attitudes toward school foodservices was given to students in three American international schools served by a domestic contract foodservice management company located in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. The results showed an average of three meals taken daily 3.39 times for male students and 2.95 times for female students and the time required for a meal was about 24~26 minutes. The average breakfast frequency was 5.10 times(4.59 times for male students and 5.35 times for female students) and many students reported skipping breakfast due to a lack of time. The average weekly frequency of dining out was 1.78 times(2.15 times for male students and 1.60 times for female students). In all schools, irrespective of gender and grade, students responded that a desire for snacking was 'why they want to have cookies', and snacking hours were frequently listed as 'between noon and evening'. Many also responded that an unbalanced diet is the reason some snacks are 'not to their taste'. Overall, students were highly satisfied with the foodservice menu, although there was a significant difference in what was considered proper food temperature, proper food seasoning, suitable amounts of food, and freshness of food. Male and female students were specifically highly satisfied with the 'freshness of food materials' and 'variety of menu' respectively. Overall, all students were highly satisfied with the foodservice, including the 'cleanliness of tables and trays'.

A Survey on Child Battering among Elementary School Children and Related Factors in Urban and Rural Areas (도시 및 농어촌 아동의 가정내 구타발생률 및 관련요인 조사)

  • To determine the incidence rate of child battering and related factors, a questionnaire survey was Conducted on 1,255 children in 4th and 5th grades of two elementary schools (one in the upper economic class area with 519 students and the other in the lower economic class area with 504 students) in Taegu and two schools in rural areas of Kyungpook province (120 and 112 students, respectively) from 1st May to 10th May 1990. Total number of children who were battered during one-month period (1-30 April 1990) prior to the survey was 918 (73.1%). Among the battered children 87 (6.9%) were severely battered (twice or more in a month by kicking or more severe method) and 831 children (66.2%) were moderately battered (all other battering than severe battering). The percentage of battered children and degree of battering were not significantly different between two schools in Taegu and between urban and rural areas. Common reasons for battering were disobediance (61.9%), making troubles (34.9%), and poor school performance (33.3%). However, 16.1% of severely battered children responded that the perpetrators battered them to wreak their anger and 5.7% of them did not know the reason why they were battered. A majority of the battered children (65%) regretted their fault after being battered but 20.7% of the severely battered children wanted to run away and 9.2% of them had an urge to commit suicide. While most of the physical injuries due to battering were minor as bruise (52.7%) but some of them were severe, e.g., bone fracture (2.5%), skin laceration (1.5%), and loss of consciousness. (0.2%). The common psycho-behavioral complaints of the severely battered children were unwillingness to study (31%), unwillingness to live (17.2%), and reluctance to go home (13.8%). The incidence rate of severe battering was significantly higher (p=0.018) among the children living in a quarter attached to a store (14.0%) than the children living in an apartment (6.6%) and individual house (6.2%). The incidence rate of severe battering was higher among children living in a rental house (8.4%) than children living in their own house 6.3%) (p=0.005). The children of father only working (5.1%) and mother only working (4.5%) had a lower incidence rate of severe battering than the children of both parents working (9.1%) and both parents unemployed (20.7%) (p=0.006). More children were battered when there was a sick family member (80.8%) compared with the children without a sick family member (71.4%) (p=0.001). The incidence rates of severe and moderate battering increased as the frequency of quarreling between mother and father increased (P=0.000). The percentage of unbattered children was higher among children whose father's occupation was professional (39.4%) than that of the total study subjects (26.9%) (p<0.001).

Study on Reproductive and Pork Production Performance for Two-way and Three-way Crosses in Swine (이원교잡종(二元交雜種) 및 삼원교잡종(三元交雜種) 돼지의 산자(産仔) 및 산육능력(産肉能力)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The results of a crossbreeding experiment with a total of 315 litters and 325 pigs of Berkshires, Hampshires, Durocs, Landraces, Large Whites, eight different two-breed crosses and twelve different three-breed crosses, produced at Livestock Experiment Station from 1975 through 1979, are summarized as follows. 1. Number born alive per litter was largest in the D♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ mating, followed by the D♂${\times}$(H♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ mating, and smallest in the Hampshires. The pigs in the 3rd-6th parities had larger litter size at birth than those in other parities. 2. Birth weight of pig was heaviest in L♂${\times}$Lw♀ mating and lightest in the Large White. The total litter weight at birth was heaviest in the D♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ mating, followed by D♂${\times}$(H♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ and Lw♂${\times}$L♀ matings, and was smaller in Hampshires and Birkshires. 3. Litter size at weaning was largest in the D♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ mating, followed by D♂${\times}$(H♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ and Lw♂${\times}$L♀ matings, and was smaller in Durocs and Hampshires. The pigs in the 3rd-6th parities had larger litter size at weaning than those in other parities. 4. The total litter weight at weaning was heaviest in the D♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ mating, followed by H♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$♀ and Lw♂${\times}$L♀ matings, and was lighter in Durocs and Hampshires. The weaning weight of pig was largest in D♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ mating and lightest in L♂${\times}$H♀ mating. 5. Survival rate at weaning was highest in L♂${\times}$Lw♀ mating, followed by D♂${\times}$(L♂${\times}$H♀) $F_1$ ♀ and D♂${\times}$(H♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ mating, and was lowest in Durocs. 6. The three-breed cross from D♂${\times}$(H♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ mating had the highest average gain and lowest feed requirement per unit gain, followed by the D♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ and H♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ matings. The Birkshires and Landraces ranked lowest among the 25 mating groups compared for both of the traits. Males had higher average daily gain than females by about 0.06kg and had lower feed requirement by about 0.14. 7. The three-breed crosses from D♂${\times}$(H♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀, D♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ and H♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ matings reached 90kg body weight at younger age than the other groups. The D♂${\times}$(H♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀ group reached 90kg at younger age than the Landrace by 39 days. 8. The dressing percentage and lean meat percentage tended to be higher in H♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$ ♀, H♂${\times}$L♀ and L♂${\times}$B♀ matings compared to the other mating groups. The loin-eye area was largest in the Lw♂${\times}$L♀ mating and smallest in the B♂${\times}$L♀ mating. Males had higher dressing percentage, higher lean meat percentage and lion-eye area than females. The backfat was thinnest in purebred Hampshire and was thickest in B♂${\times}$L♀ mating. 9. The results obtained in this study suggest that the two-breed cross from Lw♂${\times}$L♀ mating, and the three-breed crosses from D♂${\times}$(Lw♂${\times}$L-♀) $F_1$ ♀ and D♂${\times}$(H♂${\times}$L♀) $F_1$♀ matings are superior crossbreds for reproductive and pork prodnction performance.
