Performance Analysis of OFDM receiver for Digital Video Broadcasting using Array Antenna (배열 안테나를 사용한 디지털 비디오 방송용 OFDM 수신기의 성능평가)

  • Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) is becoming the chosen modulation technique for wire and wireless communications with fast data rate because of good spectral efficiency and sufficient robustness of fading channel. Digital Video Broadcating is using OFDM to modulate. But Digital Video Broadcating has performance degradation in moving reception according to DOA(Direction of Arrival). The purpose of this paper is to improve reception performance using array antenna in environment with doppler effect.

  • 퍼지 제어기는 유도전동기에 대한 정확한 수학적 모델링의 과정 없이 IF-THEN 규칙으로 제어하는 비선형 제어기로서 과도 응답 특성과 외란에 대한 강인성 면에서 고전 제어 방식보다 우수한 성능을 보여준다. 그러나 입출력 변수의 공간을 균등하게 나누고 일정한 형태의 삼각형 멤버쉽 함수를 이용한 퍼지 제어기는 한정된 성능 이상을 기대할 수없다. 다라서 퍼지 제어기의 성능을 항상시키기 위해서는 멤버쉽 함수의 폭과 위치를 조정하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 퍼지 제어기의 각 변수에 할당된 삼각형 멤버쉽 함수의 폭을 유도 전동기의 광범위한 속도에서의 과도 응답 상태에 EK랄 rkqustlzladmfhTJ 유도 전동기의 성능을 향상시키는 방법에 대해 연구하였다.

  • 본 논문은 SVM(support vector machine)을 이용한 음성인식기에 대해 효과적인 특징 파라메터를 제안한다. SVM은 특징 공간에서 비선형 경계를 찾아 분류하는 방법으로 적은 학습 데이터에서도 좋은 분류 성능을 나타낸다고 알려져 있으며 최적의 특징 파라메터를 선택하기 위해 본 논문에서는 SVM을 이용한 음성인식기를 사용하여 PCA(principal component analysis), ICA(independent component analysis) 알고리즘을 적용하여 MFCC(met frequency cepstrum coefficient)의 특징 공간을 변화시키면서 각각의 인식 성능을 비교 검토하였다. 실험 결과 ICA에 의한 특징 파라메터가 가장 우수한 성능을 나타내었으며 특징 공간에서 각 클래스의 분포도 또한 ICA가 가장 높은 선형 분별성을 나타내었다.

Development of Rotation Invariant Real-Time Multiple Face-Detection Engine (회전변화에 무관한 실시간 다중 얼굴 검출 엔진 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose the structure of a high-performance face-detection engine that responds well to facial rotating changes using rotation transformation which minimize the required memory usage compared to the previous face-detection engine. The validity of the proposed structure has been verified through the implementation of FPGA. For high performance face detection, the MCT (Modified Census Transform) method, which is robust against lighting change, was used. The Adaboost learning algorithm was used for creating optimized learning data. And the rotation transformation method was added to maintain effectiveness against face rotating changes. The proposed hardware structure was composed of Color Space Converter, Noise Filter, Memory Controller Interface, Image Rotator, Image Scaler, MCT(Modified Census Transform), Candidate Detector / Confidence Mapper, Position Resizer, Data Grouper, Overlay Processor / Color Overlay Processor. The face detection engine was tested using a Virtex5 LX330 FPGA board, a QVGA grade CMOS camera, and an LCD Display. It was verified that the engine demonstrated excellent performance in diverse real life environments and in a face detection standard database. As a result, a high performance real time face detection engine that can conduct real time processing at speeds of at least 60 frames per second, which is effective against lighting changes and face rotating changes and can detect 32 faces in diverse sizes simultaneously, was developed.

Design of a synchronization controller for non-rail mobile rack using repetitive control method (반복제어기법을 이용한 무궤도 이동랙 동기화제어기 설계)

  • The non-rail mobile rack, which is used for cargo storage, can improve the storage capacities of logistics centers. Furthermore, it has the advantage that it can be used in traditional logistics centers without making any changes or renovation, such as installing rails. However, when the rack is operated by separated drive actuators mounted on the left and the right wheels, precise position control of the wheels is necessary even if the unbalanced cargo weight on the rack would affect the control. Therefore, internal synchronization control for position tracking between the left and right wheels on the non-rail mobile rack is necessary in this study. In addition, external synchronization control for realizing the same straight movements between mobile racks is necessary. For the internal and the external synchronization control, we propose a synchronization control algorithm based on the repetitive control theory. An internal synchronization control algorithm with repetitive control theory requires the application of the robust servo control method owing to parameter variations. In this case, we can set up the gains for the robust servo control system by considering the cargo variations on the mobile rack. Furthermore, for developing the external synchronization control algorithm, we use a double repetitive control system to perform synchronization control between mobile racks. The efficiency of the proposed control algorithm will be verified by simulation and experimental results. The proposed algorithm can be easily applied in the industry.

Scalable Fingerprinting Scheme based on Angular Decoding for LCCA Resilience (선형결합 공모공격에 강인한 각도해석 기반의 대용량 핑거프린팅)

  • Fingerprinting scheme uses digital watermarks to trace originator of unauthorized or pirated copies, however, multiple users may collude and escape identification by creating an average or median of their individually watermarked copies. Previous research works are based on ACC (anti-collusion code) for identifying each user, however, ACC are shown to be resilient to average and median attacks, but not to LCCA and cannot support large number of users. In this paper, we propose a practical SACC (scalable anti-collusion code) scheme and its angular decoding strategy to support a large number of users from basic ACC (anti-collusion code) with LCCA (linear combination collusion attack) robustness. To make a scalable ACC, we designed a scalable extension of ACC codebook using a Gaussian distributed random variable, and embedded the resulting fingerprint using human visual system based watermarking scheme. We experimented with standard test images for colluder identification performance, and our scheme shows good performance over average and median attacks. Our angular decoding strategy shows performance gain over previous decoding scheme on LCCA colluder set identification among large population.

The Noise Robust Algorithm to Detect the Starting Point of Music for Content Based Music Retrieval System (노이즈에 강인한 음악 시작점 검출 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes the noise robust algorithm to detect the starting point of music. Detection of starting point of music is necessary to solve computational-waste problem and retrieval-comparison problem with inconsistent input data in music content based retrieval system. In particular, such detection is even more necessary in time sequential retrieval method that compares data in the sequential order of time in contents based music retrieval system. Whereas it has the long point that the retrieval is fast since it executes simple comparison in the order of time, time sequential retrieval method has the short point that data starting time to be compared should be the same. However, digitalized music cannot guarantee the equity of starting time by bit rate conversion. Therefore, this paper ensured that recognition rate shall not decrease even while executing high speed retrieval by applying time sequential retrieval method through detection of music starting point in the pre-processing stage of retrieval. Starting point detection used minimum wave model that can detect effective sound, and for strength against noise, the noises existing in mute sound were swapped. The proposed algorithm was confirmed to produce about 38% more excellent performance than the results to which starting point detection was not applied, and was verified for the strength against noise.

Robust Location Tracking Using a Double Layered Particle Filter (이중 구조의 파티클 필터를 이용한 강인한 위치추적)

  • The location awareness is an important part of many ubiquitous computing systems, but a perfect location system does not exist yet in spite of many researches. Among various location tracking systems, we choose the RFID system due to its wide applications. However, the sensed RSSI signal is too sensitive to the direction of a RFID reader antenna, the orientation of a RFID tag, the human interference, and the propagation media situation. So, the existing location tracking method in spite of using the particle filter is not working well. To overcome this shortcoming, we suggest a robust location tracking method with a double layered structure, where the first layer coarsely estimates a tag's location in the block level using a regression technique or the SVM classifier and the second layer precisely computes the tag's location, velocity and direction using the particle filter technique. Its layered structure improves the location tracking performance by restricting the moving degree of hidden variables. Many extensive experiments show that the proposed location tracking method is so precise and robust to be a good choice for implementing the location estimation of a person or an object in the ubiquitous computing. We also validate the usefulness of the proposed location tracking method by implementing it for a real-time people monitoring system in a noisy and complicate workplace.

Stereo-based Robust Human Detection on Pose Variation Using Multiple Oriented 2D Elliptical Filters (방향성 2차원 타원형 필터를 이용한 스테레오 기반 포즈에 강인한 사람 검출)

  • This paper proposes a robust human detection method irrespective of their pose variation using the multiple oriented 2D elliptical filters (MO2DEFs). The MO2DEFs can detect the humans regardless of their poses unlike existing object oriented scale adaptive filter (OOSAF). To overcome OOSAF's limitation, we introduce the MO2DEFs whose shapes look like the oriented ellipses. We perform human detection by applying four different 2D elliptical filters with specific orientations to the 2D spatial-depth histogram and then by taking the thresholds over the filtered histograms. In addition, we determine the human pose by using convolution results which are computed by using the MO2DEFs. We verify the human candidates by either detecting the face or matching head-shoulder shapes over the estimated rotation. The experimental results showed that the accuracy of pose angle estimation was about 88%, the human detection using the MO2DEFs outperformed that of using the OOSAF by $15{\sim}20%$ especially in case of the posed human.

Robust Maneuvering Target Tracking Applying the Concept of Multiple Model Filter and the Fusion of Multi-Sensor (다중센서 융합 및 다수모델 필터 개념을 적용한 강인한 기동물체 추적)

  • A location tracking sensor such as GPS, INS, Radar, and optical equipments is used in tracking Maneuvering Targets with a multi-sensor, and such systems are used to track, detect, and control UAV, guided missile, and spaceship. Until now, Most of the studies related to tracking Maneuvering Targets are on fusing multiple Radars, or adding a supplementary sensor to INS and GPS. However, A study is required to change the degree of application in fusions since the system property and error property are different from sensors. In this paper, we perform the error analysis of the sensor properties by adding a ground radar to GPS and INS for improving the tracking performance by multi-sensor fusion, and suggest the tracking algorithm that improves the precision and stability by changing the sensor probability of each sensor according to the error. For evaluation, we extract the altitude values in a simulation for the trajectory of UAV and apply the suggested algorithm to carry out the performance analysis. In this study, we change the weight of the evaluated values according to the degree of error between the navigation information of each sensor to improve the precision of navigation information, and made it possible to have a strong tracking which is not affected by external purposed environmental change and disturbance.
