Development of a CAS-Based Virtual Learning System for Personalized Discrete Mathematics Learning (개인 적응형 이산 수학 학습을 위한 CAS 기반의 가상 학습 시스템 개발)

  • The aim of this paper is to develop a web-based Virtual Learning System for discrete mathematics learning using CAS (Computer Algebra System), The system contains a series of contents that are common between secondary und university curriculum in discrete mathematics such as sets, relations, matrices, graphs etc. We designed and developed web-based virtual learning contents contained in the proposed system based on Mathematia, webMathematica and phpMath taking advantages of rapid computation and visualization. The virtual learning system for discrete math provides movie lectures and 'practice mode' authored with phpMath in order to enhance conceptual understanding of each movie lesson. In particular, matrix learning is facilitated with conceptual diagram that provides interactive quizzes. Once the quiz results are submitted, Bayesian inference network diagnoses strong and weak parts of learning nodes for generating diagnostic reports to facilitate personalized learning. As part of formative evaluation, the overall responses were collected for future revision of the system with 10 university students.

  • Information society, which requires knowledge-workers having creative and active problem-solving ability, needs development of on-line educational contents technique from existing teacher-oriented to learner-oriented education. Special quality of most on-line studying contents is real condition that is not satisfying on-line studying special quality that learner-oriented becomes center by lacking functions of lecture progress of teacher-oriented, contents manufacture and contents offer platform than learner-oriented. Wish to propose about way to compose existent contents offer platform and complementary situation about contents offer platform for on-line education of learner- oriented that is on-line studying special quality in this research.

  • Recently, metaverse is rapidly expanding its area as a platform that can be applied to various fields. In particular, the function that allows many users to interact in a three-dimensional space allows VR/AR-based educational content to be used as a more advanced concept. Due to the nature of engineering education, it is often based on three-dimensional objects. In the case of a three-dimensional object, it is difficult to explain through two-dimensional videos or documents, and it becomes more difficult to express when the process of changing the object is included. The three-dimensional space of the metaverse can improve this difficulty based on real-time rendering. Another characteristic of engineering education is that there are many invisible elements. Although it is involved in the movement of objects due to electromagnetic fields, magnetic fields, and forces, it is the main reason for increasing learning difficulty because it is invisible. These problems can also help learning because they can be visually represented in the metaverse space. In this paper, the results of the establishment of the metaverse platform for engineering education and the real-time lecture contents produced based on it are described, and the applied results and lecture evaluation are discussed. Lectures using a total of 9 metaverse contents were conducted, and 90% of the positive lecture evaluation results were obtained.

A Study on the Possibility of Cyber Art Education : Focusing on a Drawing Course (사이버 미술교육의 가능성 연구 : 드로잉 수업을 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to examine the possibility of developing a drawing course in online education and to assess the satisfaction and dissatisfaction of students. The drawing class consisted of a conceptual understanding of the drawing, learning actual techniques and performing drawing tasks. This course was rated on the content satisfaction scale and the course evaluation scale when it was developed in 2014 and partially modified in 2016. Both the content satisfaction and lecture evaluation showed similar scores to the average for all subjects in the school. Specifically, 'organization of content' received good reviews, while 'interaction' received a low rating in the content satisfaction scale. Additionally, 'enthusiasm' and 'response sincerity of teacher' received high ratings, but 'overall satisfaction' was low in the course evaluation scale. Finally, the self-assessment of students was also low. These results indicate that students want more practice and more active interactions.

  • 웹기반 교육은 사용자가 원하는 시간과 장소에서 학습자 스스로 수준별 학습이 .가능하며 능동적으로 학습에 참여할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 이를 바탕으로 한 웹 코스웨어는 원거리 학습자들의 학습 욕구를 가능케 했으며 기존의 텍스트, 사운드를 통한 단순한 콘텐츠에서 동영상 이미지를 중심으로 한 멀티미디어 동영상 강의, 하이퍼텍스트로 구성된 인터넷 홈페이지 등 주문형 교육 서비스(EOD : Education On Demand)가 가능해 졌다. 이처럼 현재 많은 분야에서 다양한 방법으로 웹기반 교육콘텐츠를 개발하여 학습에 활용하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 양적으로 팽창하는 웹 코스웨어의 효율성을 분석하고 이를 통하여 보다 질적인 우수성을 포함하는 콘텐츠 활용 방안을 연구하고자 한다.

  • Because e-learning system does not have any dynamic contents-delivery mechanism, all students in the same class get identical contents. In this paper, we introduce a personalized learning system, which is carefully designed and implemented based on data stream technology. The proposed system have a mechanism and interface changing lecture contents based on learner's level and ability. The system consists of a dynamic contents-delivery mechanism and learner level-test system. In this paper, we describe what are points to be considered when design and implementing a personalized learning system.
