Digital Convergence Teaching Strategy System using Spearman Correlation Coefficients (스피어만 상관계수를 이용한 디지털 융합 강의 전략 시스템)

  • Since educating digital convergence is to unite various sciences and technologies with computer as the central figure, it has different range and methods of education. Therefore, it has problems with recommending limited conceptual information because of difficulties to standardize education plan and teaching strategies. In this paper, I propose education plan and teaching strategy system by using Spearman correlation coefficients. This system is to find a solution against disadvantage of recommending limited conceptual information by ranking relations of teaching strategies from the information based on the demand of industrial and academic fields, and then provides lists of teaching strategy information suitable for user's atmosphere and characteristics. Performance test is to compare effects of precision and recall with existing service systems. The test shows 90.4% of precision and 77.6% of recall.

Effective Strategies for Teaching a Web-based Programming Course (웹 기반 프로그래밍 과목의 효과적인 강의 전략)

  • The demand for learning programming anywhere at a low cost at any time is increasing. Accordingly, there have been a great number of web-based programming courses. Generally, teaching Web-based programming classes is very challenging. Thus effective methods for teaching these courses should be researched. Based on several years of experiences in teaching a Web-based programming course as well as the related literature, this paper presents its effective teaching strategies. First, some design strategies of its course contents for developing programming skills are proposed, considering the characteristics of programming courses as well as potential learners. Next, its effective assessment and class management strategies are proposed. Finally, we evaluate the results of student grades and operation of a Web-based programming course offered most recently using proposed strategies. They demonstrate that we can enhance learning effects of the course.

Sustainable Development and New Urbanization: A Conceptual Consideration (지속가능한 발전과 새로운 도시화 - 개념적 고찰 -)

  • This paper is to conceptualize 'new urbanization' on the basis of a certain possibility of 'sustainable urbanization' in the capitalist society, while admitting some criticism on its possibility. For this purpose, first of all, this paper points out some economic and environmental difficulties in the Fordist regime of accumulation and the developmentalist strategies which have promoted the modem urbanization in the industrial society. Then, this paper examines the concept of 'sustainable development' which has been suggested to manage such problems in modem industrial cities, and explores its limitation that the application of this concept has been usually confined to some ex post facto - that is, weak sustainable development - strategies to resolve urban environmental problems. Finally, in order to overcome these problems both of developmentalism and of weak sustainable development, this paper conceptualize strong sustainable development for new urbanization and suggest urban environmental strategies for strong sustainable cities.

  • "신개념 인쇄 비즈니스 창출전략"이라는 주제의 세미나가 대한인쇄문화협회와 한국이앤엑스 공동 주최로 지난 8월25일 오후 2시부터 4시까지 코엑스 컨퍼런스 센터 402호에서 개최됐다. '2005프린코'를 기념해 유창준 프린팅코리아 편집국장의 사회로 진행된 이날 세미나에서는 제1주제 '디지털인쇄 활용 현황과 전망'에 대해 김홍석 한국후지제록스 부장이, 제2주제 '디지털인쇄 마케팅 전략'에 대해 이경선 로지트코퍼레이션 부장이 각각 강의했다. 300여명이 참석한 이날 세미나에서 홍우동 대한인쇄문화협회 회장은 인사말을 통해 "요즘 우리인쇄업계는 아날로그에서 디지털로, 오프라인에서 온라인으로 급속히 전환되면서 큰 변화를 맞이하고 있다"면서 "오늘 세미나를 통해 디지털을 기반으로 하는 새로운 인쇄물의 창출과 틈새시장 개척이라는 두 마리 토끼를 잡는 계가 되기를 기대한다"고 말했다. 다음은 각 주제별 강의 내용이다.

Characteristics of Teaching Orientation and PCK of Science Teachers in Online-offline Mixed Learning Environment (온-오프라인 혼합 학습환경에서 과학교사의 교수 지향과 PCK 특징)

  • This study explore characteristics of teaching orientation and pck of science teachers in online-offline mixed learning environment. Data consisted of open-ended survey, semi-structured interview, class observation, field notes from 12 science teachers. We categorized teaching orientation considering both science education goals and science teaching·learning orientation. There were 8 different teaching orientations such as 'understanding science concepts-lecture centered' 'constructing science concepts-inquiry based' 'applying science concepts and inquiry-inquiry based' 'applying science concepts and inquiry-lectured centered' 'analyzing and judging science information-inquiry based' 'developing scientific attitude-inquiry based' 'developing scientific attitude-lecture centered' and 'developing perception of interrelationships among science, technology, and society-inquiry based'. Teachers with inquiry based teaching·learning orientation seemed to have knowledge of science curriculum specific to online learning environment for student inquiry. While teachers with 'understanding science concepts-lecture centered' teaching orientation appeared to have questioning strategy of checking student understanding and strategy of repeating a lecture, teachers with 'constructing science concepts-inquiry based' teaching orientation appeared to have knowledge of instructional strategies to perform online group activities targeting student construction of knowledge and to replace face-to-face group activities with virtual experiments and individual experiments. While teachers with 'understanding science concepts-lecture centered' teaching orientation did not show knowledge of student science learning, teachers with 'constructing science concepts-inquiry based' teaching orientation appeared to have knowledge of student difficulties in inquiry based learning.
