Optimization of Multi-reservoir Operation with Hedging Rules: Case Study of Han River Basin (Hedging Rule을 이용한 댐 연계 운영 최적화: 한강수계 사례연구)

  • 홍수기에 집중되는 하천유출량을 갈수기에 적절히 활용하기 위한 대표적인 시설이 댐이다. 제한된 용수공급량을 적절히 분배해 용수수요량을 만족시키면서 미래 갈수기시 용수공급을 위한 댐 저류량을 조절하는 것이 댐 운영의 중요한 목적 중 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 댐 저류량에 따라 댐 계획방류량을 일정비율 줄여주는 Hedging Rule을 5단계로 적용하여 댐의 상시만수위 저류량에 대한 실제 저류량의 편차 절대치 합, 수요에 대한 용수공급 부족량의 합, 그리고 하천유지유량에 대한 하천유량 부족량의 합을 목적함수로 하여 혼합정수 선형계획법(MILP, Mixed Integer Linear Programming)으로 식을 구성하였다. 한강수계의 다목적댐인 충주, 횡성, 소양강 댐과 용수전용댐인 광동 댐, 그리고 발전용 댐이지만 비교적 큰 저류용량을 가진 화천 댐을 댐 연계 운영 대상으로 하여 수자원장기종합계획의 2003년 유출량 및 수요량 자료와 댐운영실무편람의 댐 계획방류량 자료를 10일 단위로 입력하여 GAMS/CPLEX를 이용해 최적화하였다. 그 결과 생공용수 수요량 99.99%, 농업용수 수요량 99.91%, 그리고 하천유지용수 수요량 99.24%를 충족시키면서, 댐 저류율이 66.54%에서 86.39%로 증가하였다.

Optimization Analysis between Processing Parameters and Physical Properties of Geocomposites (지오컴포지트의 공정인자와 물성의 최적화 분석)

  • Geocomposites of needle punched and spunbonded nonwovens having the reinforcement and drainage functions were manufactured by use of thermal bonding method. The physical properties (e.g. tensile, tear and bursting strength, permittivity) of these multi-layered nonwovens were dependent on the processing parameters of temperatures, pressures, bonding periods etc. - in manufacturing by use of thermal bonding method. Therefore, it is very meaningful to optimize the processing parameters and physical properties of the geocomposites by thermal bonding method. In this study, an algorithm has been developed to optimize the process of the geocomposites using an artificial neural network (ANN). Geocomposites were employed to examine the effects of manufacturing methods on the analysis results and the neural network simulations have been applied to predict the changes of the nonwovens performances by varying the processing parameters.

  • A reversed trapezoidal fin with variable lateral surface slope is optimized using a two-dimensional analytic method. For a fin base boundary condition, convection from the inside fluid to the inside wall and conduction from the inside wall to the fin base are considered. Heat loss from the fin tip surface is not ignored. The maximum heat loss at the practical fin length, the corresponding optimum fin efficiency, fin length and fin base height are presented as a function of the fin inside and outside convection characteristic numbers. One of the results shows that the optimum fin shape becomes 'fatter and shorter' as the ratio of fin tip height to base height increases.

  • In this paper, the optimization of frictional bearings that applied to improve the seismic performance of conventional bridges were conducted. The nonlinear dynamic analysis of steel bridges and concrete bridges are carried out with the El Centro and artificial earthquake motions, and the reponses of the bridges were optimized by genetic algorithm. The object functions were considered with two parameters, such as shear forces and displacements at bearing, and the optimum object functions were searched by varying the weighting factors of the two parameters. As results, in case of the steel bridges, the optimum results were obtained when larger weight factor was imposed to the shear force. However, in case of concrete bridges, larger weight factor was need to the displacement for optimum results.

  • The crank shafts need anti-corrosion materials. So STS 304 is the essential material to manufacture this shaft. However, it costs more to manufacture the shafts by using only STS 304 than welding of STS 304 to other carbon steels. And it has been difficult to weld this sort of dissimilar materials. They could be unstable in the quality by the conventional arc welding. And also they have a lot of technical problems in manufacturing. But by the friction welding technique, it will be able to be made without such problems. Then, this study aimed not only to develop the optimization of dissimilar friction welding of crank shafts steels of STS 304, SM35C, but also to develop the application technique of the acoustic emission to accomplish in-process real-time quality(such as tensile) evaluation during friction welding of the shafts by the AE technique.

  • 국내에서도 최근 이상기후 현상이 빈번하게 발생하고 있고, 이로 인해 매년 봄가뭄과 여름홍수가 반복적으로 발생하여 효율적 수자원 관리의 중요성이 더욱 강조되고 있다. 최적 저수지 운영을 통한 효율적인 수자원 이용으로 과다한 무효 방류와 같이 낭비되는 수자원을 절감시켜 신규 수자원 개발과 유사한 효과를 획득하고, 기존 시설에 의한 지역 용수의 안정적인 공급으로 신규 수자원 개발 억제에 의한 비용 절감의 필요성과 유역의 수자원 변화를 평가하기 위한 모형의 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 저수량 확보, 생활.농업.공업.하천유지용수 공급, 홍수조절, 수력발전 등의 다양한 목적들을 적절히 고려하고, 사용자의 요구에 따라 목적별 우선권을 변경할 수 있도록 적절한 membership 함수를 구축하여 fuzzy DP 모형을 개발하였다. 또한, 개발된 fuzzy DP 모형에 소양강 다목적댐의 기왕의 수문자료를 도입한 모형의 최적화 운영결과와 기왕의 실적자료를 비교 검토하여 최적화 운영의 우수성을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 저수지의 효율적인 운영을 위한 지침으로 사용될 수 있을 것이며, 유역의 수자원 영향 평가에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Feed Optimization for High-Efficient Machining in Turning Process (선삭 공정에서의 고능률 가공을 위한 이송량의 최적화)

  • High-efficient machining, which means cutting a part in the least amount of time, is the most effective tool to improve productivity. In this study, a new feed optimization method based on the cutting power regulation was proposed to realize the high-efficient machining in turning process. The cutting area was evaluated by using the Boolean intersection operation between the cutting tool and workpiece. And the cutting force and power were predicted from the cutting parameters such as feed, depth of cut, spindle speed, specific cutting force, and so on. Especially, the reliability of the proposed optimization method was validated by comparing the predicted and measured cutting forces. The simulation results showed that the proposed optimization method could effectively enhance the productivity in turning process.

  • A triangular fin with variable fin base thickness and base height is analyzed and optimized for the fixed fin base height using a two-dimensional analytical method. At the middle of the fin length, the variation of the temperature along the fin height is listed. The influences of the fin length, base thickness and base height on the heat loss and fin efficiency are analyzed, The optimum heat loss, corresponding optimum efficiency and optimum fin length as a function of the fin base thickness are presented. The optimum heat loss and optimum fin tip length as a function of the convection characteristic number are represented.

  • The culture conditions of chinese cabbage medium for the growth of Bacillus lentimorbus G-74, having antifungal activities, were optimized. The optimal growth of B. lentimorbus G-74 was obtained when the concentration of chinese cabbage extract was 50%(v/v). The optimum temperature and pH for the cell growth of B. lentimorbus G-74 were $35^{\circ}C$ and 7.0, respectively.
