A study on the shear bond strengths of veneering ceramics to the colored zirconia core (착색지르코니아 코어와 전장 도재 사이의 전단결합강도에 관한 연구)

  • Statement of problem: Delamination of veneering porcelain from underlying ceramic substructures has been reported for zirconia-ceramic restorations. Colored zirconia cores for esthetics have been reported that their bond strength with veneered porcelain is weaker compared to white zirconia cores. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the shear bond strength by manufacturing the veneering porcelain on the colored zirconia core, using the layering technique and heat-pressing technique, and to evaluate the clinical stability by comparing the result of this with that of conventional metal ceramic system. Material and methods: A Metal ceramic (MC) system was tested as a control group. The tested systems were Katana zirconia with CZR (ZB) and Katana Zirconia with NobelRondo Press (ZP). Thirty specimens, 10 for each system and control, were fabricated. Specimen disks, 3 mm high and 12 mm diameter, were fabricated with the lost-wax technique (MC) and the CAD-CAM (ZB and ZP). MC and ZB specimens were prepared using opaque and dentin veneering ceramics, veneered, 3 mm high and 2.8 mm in diameter, over the cores. ZP specimens were prepared using heat pressing ingots, 3 mm high and 2.8mm in diameter. The shear bond strength test was performed in a Shear bond test machine. Load was applied at a cross-head speed of 0.50 mm/min until failure. Mean shear bond strengths (MPa) were analyzed with the One-way ANOVA. After the shear bond test, fracture surfaces were examined by SEM. Results: The mean shear bond strengths (SD) in MPa were MC control 29.14 (2.26); ZB 29.48 (2.30); and ZP 29.51 (2.32). The shear bond strengths of the tested systems were not significantly different (P > .05). All groups presented cohesive and adhesive failures, and showed predominance of cohesive failures in ceramic veneers. Conclusion: 1. The shear bond strengths of the tested groups were not significantly different from the control group (P >.05). 2. There was no significant different between the layering technique and the heat pressing technique in the veneering methods on the colored zirconia core. 3. All groups presented cohesive and adhesive failures, and showed predominance of cohesive failures in ceramic veneers.

A Quantitative Evaluation of ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ Estimation Methods Based on Random Loading Crack Growth Data. (랜덤하중하의 피로균열진전 데이터를 이용한 ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ 평가법의 정량적 평가)

  • Methods for estimation of the effective stress intensity factor range (${\Delta}K_{eff}$) are evaluated for narrow and wide band random loading crack growth test data of 2024-T351 aluminum alloy. Three methods of determining $K_{op}$, visual measurement, ASTM offset compliance method, and the neural network method proposed by Kang and Song, and three methods of estimating ${\Delta}K_{eff}$, conventional, the 2/PI0 and 2/PI methods proposed by Donald and Paris, are compared in a quantitative manner by using the results of fatigue crack growth life prediction under random loading. For all $K_{op}$ determination methods discussed, the 2/PI0 and 2/PI methods of estimating ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ provide better results than conventional method for narrow and wide band random loading data.

  • 발열량은 화재현상을 이해하고 화재의 위험도를 평가하는데 있어서 가장 기본이 되는 물리량으로 화재강도를 나타내는 척도로 인식되고 있다. 발열량의 신뢰성은 화재 물성이나 공간화재 특성의 이해뿐만 아니라 화재해석을 통한 위험성 평가에 있어서 중요한 요소이기 때문에 측정의 신뢰성이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 수치해석 모델을 통하여 화재 발열량계의 배기덕트 구조에 따른 내부 유동특성을 파악하고자 한다. 해석결과를 바탕으로 각 측정점의 위치에 따른 상태오차 정도를 분석하고 산소소모법에 의해 계산된 발열량을 비교한다. 화재 발열량계의 수치해석을 통하여 발열량 산정의 오차특성을 평가함으로써 발열량계 설계 과정을 최적화하고 효과적인 발열량계 운영을 위한 기초자료를 얻는데 기여하고자 한다.

An Analytical Study on the Anchorage Design in Exterior R/C Beam-Column Connections (R/C조 외측 보-기둥 접합부의 정착설계에 대한 해석적 연구)

  • An analytical model was developed for predicting the pullout behavior of straight beam longitudinal bars anchored at exterior beam-column connections. The model incorporates a local bond constitutive simulation capable of considering the effects of anchored bar diameter, yield strength and the spacing, concrete compressive strength, and column pressure on the bond characteristics of deformed bars in confined conditions of exterior joints. The analytical techniques adopted in this study were shown to satisfactorily predict the results of pullout tests on straight bars embedded in confined concrete specimens. An evaluation of the ACI-ASCE Committee 352 development length requirements in exterior joint conditions was made using the developed analytical approach. The results of this analytical evaluation are indicative of the conservatism of the current development length requirements in the confined conditions of exterior joints.

A Study on the Evaluation of the Failure for Carbody Structures made of Laminated Fiber-Reinforced Composite Materials Using Total Laminate Approach (전체 적층판 접근법을 이용한 섬유강화 적층 복합재 차체 구조물의 파손평가 연구)

  • In order to evaluate the strength of carbody structures of railway rolling stock made of laminated fiber-reinforced composite materials, total laminate approach was introduced. Structural analyses were conducted to check the basic design of hybrid composite carbody structures of the Korean Tilting Train eXpress(TTX) with the service speed of 180km/h. The mechanical tests were also conducted to obtain strengths of composite laminates. The results show that all stress components of composite carbody structures are inside of failure envelopes and total laminate approach is recommended to predict the failure of hybrid composite carbody structures at the stage of the basic design.

Strength Evaluation of Bonded Dissimilar Materials by Using Stress Singularity Factor (응력특이성계수에 의한 이종 접합재료의 강도평가)

  • Recentrly advantages in composite and light weight material techniques have led to the increased use of bonded dissimilar materials such as ceramics/metal bonded joints, IC package, brazing, coating and soldering in the various industries. It is required to analyze the evaluation method of fracture strength and design methodology of bonded joints in dissimilar materials. Stress singularity according to changes of scarf angles for bonded scarf joints in dissimilar materials was investigated by the boundary element method and static experiments. In this paper, effect of the stress singularity factors at the interface edges of scarf joints on various dissmilar materials combinations were investigated by analysis of its stress and stress singularity index using 2-dimensional elastic program of boundary element method. And the variations of stress singularity index by changes for Young's modulus ratios of materials and scarf angles were investigated. Also, it is found that stress singularities at bonded interface edges are disappeared for certain combination of scarf angle in a pair of bonded dissimilar materials. As the results, it is proposed that the strength evaluation by using stress singularity factors, $\Gamma$, considering stress singularity at the interface edges of bonded dissimilar materials, is very useful.

  • 온실가스와 같은 환경오염으로 인한 규제로 인해 경량화 소재인 알루미늄의 차체 적용이 늘어가는 추세이다. 하지만 알루미늄의 낮은 용접성으로 인하여 기계적 접합법 등이 알루미늄의 접합에 사용되고 있으나 낮은 접합강도 등의 문제가 발생하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스폿용접 시뮬레이션 프로그램인 SORPAS를 이용하여 건전한 용접부를 얻을 수 있는 알루미늄 합금 용접 조건을 도출하였고 실제 델타스폿 용접기를 이용하여 도출된 실험 결과와 비교 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 전극의 형태에 따른 용접성의 변화를 분석하였고, 전류 및 가압력 프로파일에 따른 용접성의 특징을 관찰하였다. 그리고 각각의 용접 변수들의 변화에 따른 용접 특성 평가 실험을 통하여 각 변수들의 특성을 파악하였고, 용접강도가 높고 용접부에 결함이 존재하지 않는 용접성을 가진 변수조건을 구하였다. 최종적으로 변수 특성 평가 실험의 결과를 바탕으로 Al 6032와 Al 5454에 대하여 넓은 적정용접 영역을 가진 로브 곡선을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 2009년도 서울시 산학연 협력사업(과제번호 10848) 및 BK21의 연구비 지원을 받아 수행 하였음.

Shear Strength of Plate Girder (플레이트거더의 전단내력)

  • In the design of plate girder web panels, it is required to evaluate accurately the elastic buckling strength under shear, whether or not the post-buckling strength is accounted for. Currently, elastic shear buckling coefficient of web panels stiffened by transverse intermediate stiffeners are determined by assuming conservatively that web panels are simply supported at the juncture between the flange and web. Although the notion of the real boundary condition at the juncture of the web and the flanges to be somewhere between simple and fixed has been recognized from early days, the boundary condition has been conservatively assumed, mainly due to lack of means to evaluate it in a rational manner. In this paper, a series of numerical analyses and experiments is carried out to provide a simple equation with some parameters especially the flange-web thickness ratio.

나노 크기의 생체 재료를 이용한 골 재생 촉진용 지지체의 제작 및 특성 평가

  • 우리 몸의 뼈를 재료적인 측면으로 보면, 주로 나노 크기의 콜라겐과 아파타이트로 이루어 져 있는 복합체이다. 때문에 최근 생체 모사적인 측면에서 나노 크기의 생체 활성 재료를 이용하여 골 재생 촉진이 우수한 지지체를 제작하고자 하는 많은 연구 들이 진행되고 있다. 이러한 나노 크기의 재료는 일반적인 마이크로 크기의 생체 재료에 비해 표면적이 월등히 크기 때문에 생체 활성 (bioactivity)이 우수하다고 알려져 있으며, 이를 골 재생용 지지체의 구성 재료로 사용하였을 경우 기계적 강도 또한 향상 시킬 수 있다고 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 나노 크기의 HA, CaSiO3 등 다양한 나노 생체 활성 입자들을 침전법 (precipitation method)을 통하여 제조하였으며, 이를 이용하여 골 재생 촉진을 위한 3차원 지지체를 제조 하였다. 또한 기존의 마이크로 크기의 생체 재료로 제작된 지지체와의 생물학적, 기계학적 비교 평가를 통하여 나노크기의 재료의 우수성을 입증하고자 하였다. 결론적으로, 나노 크기의 재료로 제작된 골 재생용 지지체의 경우 기존의 마이크로 크기의 재료로 제작된 지지체보다 골세포의 부착, 증식 및 분화능이 우수하였고, 지지체의 기계적 강도 또한 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통하여 나노 크기의 생체 활성재료는 골 재생 촉진을 위한 지지체 제작에 응용 가능성이 높음을 확인 할 수 있었다.

A Study on Seismic Performance Evaluation of Road Tunnel according to Seismic Analysis Conditions (내진해석 조건에 따른 도로터널 내진성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • When constructing a tunnel on a stable ground, stress is changed in the ground during excavation stage and installation of ground support materials. In the standards for safety evaluation of structures in use, it is suggested to perform numerical analysis reflecting the excavation stage. But method of seismic performance evaluation was not presented. Therefore, in this study, numerical analysis was performed with different analysis methods, and the results were compared and analyzed. As a result of the numerical analysis, seismic wave applied in the horizontal direction were no difference depending on the analysis methods. However, there was a big difference in the result according to the evaluation methods of tunnel member forces. When reviewing with the strength design method, the structure performance could be not satisfied depending on the existence or nonexistence of reinforcing bars. Based on these research results, it is suggested that the interpretation method should be clearly presented and reflected in the relevant standards.
