Monitoring of Residual Pesticides in Agricultural Land from the Southern Area of Seoul (서울 강남지역 채소류 경작지의 토양 중 잔류농약 실태조사)

  • Monitoring of pesticide residues were conducted at three sites in the Southern Area of Seoul, Korea (Gang-nam, Gang-dong and Song-pa). We measured pesticide residues within soil samples using multi-pesticide residues analysis. Samples were collected at the three sites with 60 sampling spots. The amount of pesticide residues in the soil samples were as follows [(minimum-maximum), mg/kg] endosulfan 0.002-0.999, procymidone 0.002-1.200, diazinon 0.003-0.024, metalaxyl 0.012-0.075. In soil treated with 0.445 mg/kg of endosulfan, the pesticide absorbed by chamnamul, was 0.157 mg/kg (Absorption rate : 35.3%). However, in soil treated with 0.358 mg/kg of endosulfan, the pesticide absorbed by lettuce, was 0.004 mg/kg (Absorption rate : 1.1%).

  • 지난 4일부터 9일까지 서울 강남구 코엑스(COEX) 태평양홀과 인도양홀에서 개최된 서울국제도서전에는 이색 특별전이 특히 눈길을 끌었다. 이중에서 가장 많은 시선을 모은 곳은 바로 금서특별전 코너. 이곳엔 갖가지 이유로 빛을 보지 못했던 소위 금서들이 전시됐다. 시대적 배경에 따라 부침을 거듭했던 출판의 역사를 한눈에 보는 느낌이다. 국내외 금서는 어떤 것이 있었는지 살펴본다.

  • This paper examines the problems of officetel management and tests three types of hy-pothesis; use of officetel, the numbers of officetel, and ownership period to derive the efficient management in officetel as typical profitable real estate using survey data of officetel management satisfaction in Teheranro, Seoul. The problems classifies institutional inertia and lacks of management mind. This paper approaches to the internal and external problem concerning management from the viewpoint of actual owners getting out of fragmental investment value and investigates management solutions in the cost as well as institution aspect.

  • Water Footprint is utilized to analyze direct and indirect water consumption for sustainable water resource management. This study aims to understand potential applicability of water footprint concept by analyzing the status of water consumption and related water policies in Seoul. We analyzed a direct gray water footprint and the blue water footprint in Seoul affected by the social and economic characteristics of the consumers in the city. In particular, in order to analyze the blue water footprint represented by both surface and underground water for the provision and consumption of products, we calculated the actual water consumptions of surface and underground water for 25 districts in Seoul. Our analysis in consideration of population and households indicates that Jung-gu has the highest blue water footprint followed by Jongro-gu, Gangnam-gu, Yongsan-gu, and Seocho-gu. Gray water footprint was calculated by estimating the amount of water for purifying wastewater to meet the water quality standard (above BOD 3.5ppm) for each district. As a result, Jung-gu has the highest gray water footprint, followed by Jongro-gu, Gangnam-gu, Yongsan-gu, Seocho-gu, and Youngdeungpo-gu. Our study suggests the potential value of using water footprint concept to complement the current limitations of water use management focusing on water supply control. We expect that our analysis will provide an important basis for considering water use management which is economically and socially more resilient and sustainable.

A Study on Risks and Returns Using A Housing Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM): the Case of Three Gangnam Districts Apartment Market in Seoul (주택 자본자산가격결정모형(Capital Asset Pricing Model)을 활용한 위험과 수익 분석: 서울 강남 3개구 아파트시장의 경우)

  • This paper examines the tendency of housing assets to become increasingly quasi-financial assets by analyzing the relationships between risks and returns in three Gangnam districts (Gangnam-gu, Seocho-gu and Songpa-gu) apartment markets in Seoul, especially for the apartments to be reconstructed, capitalizing upon some capital asset pricing models (CAPM). A single factor CAPM model shows positive relationships between risks and returns regardless of the types of apartments in three Gangnam districts. Multi-factors CAPM models also confirm that the market and SMB (small minus big) factors are positively related to the rate of returns regardless of the types of apartments. However, the unsystematic risk factor is found to be statistically positive especially for the apartments to be reconstructed, while the momentum factor is dependent upon the regression models used. An analysis on some portfolios classified by the size of apartments and price volatility and/or beta values suggests that there are the positive linear relationships between risks and returns and the SMB factor is clearly found to be significant in determining the rate of returns. In particular, housing assets are highly highlighted as investment goods and/or quasi financial assets for the apartments to be constructed in the Gangnam housing.

태슬모자형 변환(Tasseled Cap)을 이용한 서울시 연무지수 산출 연구

  • 1991년 5월 31일, 1996년 9월 1일 그리고 1997년 6월 17일의 Landsat TM 위성화상자료를 Tasseled Cap 변환을 통하여 추출되는 4번째 특징을 연무지수농도로 사용할 수 있는가를 알아보고 또한 이렇게 산출된 연무지수를 사용하여 각 일자별 대기오염측정인자와 기상측정인자와 비교하고 서울시 각 행정구별 연무현상에 대하여 알아보았다. 동일화상내에서 연무가 있는 삼림지역과 연무가 없는 삼림지역을 표본조사하여 검정한 결과 Tasseled Cap 변환의 4번째 특징이 연무지수와 관련되어 있음을 밝혔고 기상측정 인자의 시정거리와 연무지수사이의 역상관의 경향이 있음을 확인하엿다. 대기오염측정 인자의 경우 정확한 연관성을 파악하지는 못하였는데 이는 연무현상이 대기오염 물질의 2차 생성물에 의한 것으로 추정된다. 각 날자에서 1991년 5월 31일과 1997년 6월 17일 서울에 연무현상이 있음을 확인하였고 대체적으로 날짜에 상관 없이 중구, 종로구, 강남구, 서초구에서 높은 연무지수를 나타내었다.
