Optimization of the Number of Filter in CNN Noise Attenuator (CNN 잡음감쇠기에서 필터 수의 최적화)

  • This paper studies the effect of the number of filters in the CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) layer on the performance of a noise attenuator. Speech is estimated from a noised speech signal using a 64-neuron, 16-kernel CNN filter and an error back-propagation algorithm. In this study, in order to verify the performance of the noise attenuator with respect to the number of filters, a program using Keras library was written and simulation was performed. As a result of simulation, it can be seen that this system has the smallest MSE (Mean Squared Error) and MAE (Mean Absolute Error) values when the number of filters is 16, and the performance is the lowest when there are 4 filters. And when there are more than 8 filters, it was shown that the MSE and MAE values do not differ significantly depending on the number of filters. From these results, it can be seen that about 8 or more filters must be used to express the characteristics of the speech signal.

A Study on Vibration Analysis and Estimation of Vibration Damping of Tricone-Bits Drilling Machine (Tricone-Bits 천공장비의 진동 분석 및 진동 거리감쇠 추정에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, with the development of construction machinery, low-vibration construction machine such as Tricone-Bits, which can drill both soil and rock layers and minimize vibration, is being used frequently. However, although many studies have been conducted on the prediction of vibration values for earth augers and pile drivers, the reality is that studies on the effects of vibration on low-vibration drilling equipment are lacking. In this paper, ground vibration values for Tricone-Bits were measured, and a vibration distance damping formula was proposed using this. In addition, after predicting the vibration of the earth auger and pile driver using the previously proposed vibration distance damping formula, the degree of vibration damping for the Tricone-Bits was evaluated by comparing and analyzing it. As a result, the Tricone-Bits showed a vibration reduction effect of 97% and 93% compared to these machine and It will help with management and prediction of the ground vibration effects evaluation on the low-vibration equipment such as Tricone-Bits.

  • Nowadays, the construction sites are growing in city every year, so complaints for construction noise have increased more and more. To analyze this noise scientifically, construction noise prediction program was developed in 1998 and 2005 but it is too difficult to apply program in field because there is few soundproof facilities and it can't understand the coordinate system and so on. The aim of this study is to develop noise prediction program to apply in construction sites. For this, the problems of existing program was analyzed and survey was performed to get requestion of field overseer and upgraded program. To get reliability of program, it was compared with sound measurement value in field. As a result, construction sound prediction program have various soundproof facilities data than existing program. It can also analyze multi receiver point at the same time for several construction machinery. Most of all, it is more powerful to set receiver or source in the axis of X, Y, Z. so program user can make use of it easily. An average of difference is -0.9$\sim$1.8dB.

  • A construction noise is the main reason for people's petition among the pollution. The purpose of this study is to develop the noise prediction program to see the level of the noise on the construction site more accurately. For this purpose, the database of the power level on the various equipments was made. The noise reduction by distance and the noise reduction by diffraction of barrier were mainly considered and calculated. The simple noise prediction program will provide the information about proper height and length of the potable barrier which satisfies noise criteria of the construction sites from a construction planning stage. To investigate the reliability of this program, the predicted data was compared with the measured data. An average of difference between measured data and predicted data is $0.1{\sim}2.8\;dB(A)$ and a coefficient of correlation is about $0.85{\sim}0.95$.

  • The QoS guarantee for the forward link in satellite communication networks is very important because there are a variety of packets with multiplexing. Especially, the packets are processed depending on the available bandwidth in satellite network changing the wireless channel state in accordance with weather condition. The DVB-S2 increases the transmission efficiency by applying the adaptive coding and modulation (ACM) techniques as a countermeasure of rain attenuations. However, the channel estimation algorithm is required to support the ACM techniques that select the MODCOD values depending on the feedback data transmitted by RCSTs(Return Channel via Satellite Terminal) because satellite communication networks have a long propagation delay. In this paper, we proposed the channel estimation algorithm using rain attenuation values and reference data and the packet scheduling scheme to support the QoS and fairness. As a result of performance evaluation, we showed that proposed algorithm exactly predicts the channel conditions and supports bandwidth fairness to the individual RCST and guarantees QoS for user traffics.

Case Study on Combustion Stabilization in FASTRAC Thrust Chamber Using Acoustic Cavities (FASTRAC 연소기에서 음향공을 이용한 연소불안정 제어 사례 연구)

  • 3-D linear acoustic analysis has been performed to elucidate damping characteristics of large Helmholtz acoustic cavities in FASTRAC thrust chamber. Acoustic impedance concept has been introduced to quantify combustion stabilization capacity. For a given acoustic cavity, sonic velocity in the cavity to achieve an optimal tuning has been determined and satisfactory agreement with the previous results has been obtained. Feasible estimation of sonic velocity in the acoustic cavity has been devised. Results show similar trends without significant deviations, which can be used in the procedure of design and verification of acoustic cavity. From the satisfactory results, investigation of other thrust chambers with acoustic cavities which have shown combustion instabilities will be done as future works.

Dynamic Deformation Characteristics of Cohesionless Soils in Korea Using Resonant Column Tests (공진주시험을 이용한 국내 비점성토 지반의 동적변형특성)

  • 본 논문에서는 반복하중이나 지진하중을 받는 지반-구조물 시스템의 설계에 필수적인 변수인 전단탄성계수와 감쇠비에 대한 연구를 국내에 존재하는 비점성토 지반에 대하여 수행하였다. 국내 퇴적토지반 및 풍화토지반에서 채취된 자연시료와 입도분포를 조정하여 제작한 시료를 포함하여 총 60개의 시료에 대하여 20kPa에서 500kPa의 구속응력 범위에서 공진주 시험을 수행하고, 이를 조립질 사질토, 실트 및 실트질 모래, 풍화토의 3개의 그룹으로 나누어 결과를 정리하였다. 저변형률 영역의 변형특성인 최대전단탄성계수와 최소감쇠비에 대하여 구속응력의 영향을 확인하였다. 최대전단탄성계수를 예측하는 경험식을 3개의 그룹별로 제안하였다. 최소감쇠비는 구속응력에 따른 분포영역을 제시하였다. 세립분이 적은 조립질 사질토의 경우, 비선형 변형특성이 구속응력의 영향을 뚜렷이 받고 있어 이를 주요한 변수로 고려하여 대표곡선과 분포영역을 제안하였다. 구속응력의 영향을 적게 받는 실트 및 실트질 모래와 풍화토는 구속응력에 관계없이 대표곡선과 분포영역을 제안하였다. 제안된 각 시료의 대표곡선과 기존의 Vucetic-Dobry와 Seed-Idriss가 제안한 곡선과 비교하였다. 본 논문의 연구결과는 국내지반의 비점성토 지반에 대한 지진해석이나 동하중을 받는 시스템의 해석시 유용하게 사용될 것으로 판단된다.

Prediction of the Damage in the Structure with Damping Using the Modified Dynamic Characteristics (동특성 변화를 이용한 감쇠 구조물의 손상예측)

  • A damage in structure alters its dynamic characteristics. The change is characterized by changes in the modal parameter, i.e., modal frequencies, modal damping value and mode shape associated with each modal frequency. Changes also occur in some of the structural parameters; namely, the mass, damping, stiffness matrices of the structure. In this paper, evaluation of changes in stiffness matrix of a structure is presented as a method not only for identifying the presence of the damage but also locating the damage. It is shown that changed stiffness matrix can be accurately estimated a sensitivity coefficient matrix derived from modifying mode shapes, First, with 4 story shear structure models, the effect of presence of damage in a structure on its stiffness matrix is studied. By using these analytical model, the effectiveness of using change of stiffness matrix in detecting and locating damages is demonstrated. To validate the predicted changing stiffness and its location, the obtained results are compared to the reanalysis result which shows good agreement.
