A Discrimination System Model of Harmful Contents using Collective Intelligence and Collective Emotions (집단지성 및 집단감성을 활용한 유해 콘텐츠 판별 시스템 모델)

  • The case of South Korea's Internet newspapers, harmful advertising is illegal but rampant. The children and youth are not protected, so effective measures are urgently required. Therefore, to achieve self-regulation, a discrimination system model using collective intelligence and collective emotions is proposed. This study is to suggest a Discrimination System Model of harmful contents using collective intelligence and collective emotions as the actual program of self-regulation. The Discrimination System model forms the level of harmful contents by using contents, form, text, size as well as the implied and reminiscent story of image as discriminant factors of a group testing. The formed level is established for harmful contents discriminant criteria after going through the process of generalization again. It can be not clear and ambiguous for internet newspaper banner ads to be measure the level of harmfulness. This Discrimination System will have the strengths of resolving this problem.

Emotion Recognition Using The Color Image Scale in Clothing Images (의류 영상에서 컬러 영상 척도를 이용한 감성 인식)

  • Emotion recognition is defined as that machines automatically recognize human emotions. Because the human emotions is very subjective, it is impossible to measure objectively. Therefore, the goal of emotion recognition is to obtain a measure that is agreed by as many people as possible. Emotion recognition in a image is implemented as the method that matches human emotions to the various features of the image. In the paper, we propose an emotion recognition system using color features of clothing image based on the Kobayashi's image scale. The proposed system stores colors of image scale into a database. And extracted major colors from a input clothing image are compared with those in the database. The proposed system can obtain three emotions maximally. In order to evaluate the system performance 70 observers are tested. The test results shows that recognized emotions of the proposed system are very similar to the observers emotions.

Types of Contemporary Emotional Designs : A Focus on the Correlation with Social Paradigms (현대 감성디자인의 표현유형 분석 : 사회적 패러다임과의 연관성 분석을 중심으로)

  • Contemporary era has witnessed a diversity of emotion and emotions being expressed through consumption. This paper examines the relationship between social paradigms and emotional design by means of literature study. In sections 2 and 3, I examine the prevalent social paradigms and the concept/development of emotional design. In section 4, I show the correspondence between social paradigms and specific types of emotional design. More specifically it is shown that "pluralism and decentrality" has led to fun design, individual design and participative design; "emotional revolution" has given rise to multi-sensory design, design with positive feelings, design with negative feelings and aesthetic design; "non-materialistic values" have their correspondence in design as performance and story-telling in design; and "organic worldview" finds its expression in ecological design with a wellness emphasis, and in interactive emotional design.

  • Recent research shows that emotion is closely related to memory and learning. Although a growing number of educators have high interest in affective aspects of learning processes and outcomes, there are few studies to investigate systematically instructional strategies and learning environments based on learners' emotion. Despite the efforts to understand the role of emotion and to facilitate positive emotion for meaningful learning in face-to-face and online environments, it is still a challenging issue to measure emotion in a valid and reliable way. To implement emotion-based education, it is essential to overcome the limitation of self-report surveys on emotion, which rely on the memory of learners. The current study surveyed emotion measurement tools, which are recently developed in education and other domains, in terms of self-report, neurophysiology, and behavioral responses. This study also discussed how emotion measurement tools can be used in authentic learning and teaching situations. Particularly, this study focused on cutting-edge technologies that would enable educators to collect and analyze learners' emotion easily in real-world contexts. This study will contribute to the research about the role of emotion in education and the design of adaptive learning environments that consider the change of learners' emotion.

  • Online game industry is also making much efforts in developing games that have emotional disposition which is rapidly growing by the increase of emotional demand by the user. In the online game development that induces immersion stimulating the emotion of the human has the evaluation stage it must surely pass, and in this stage, emotional evaluation system is known as the evaluation method that one can verify the function, usage and human emotion desire of the game before its launching. Nevertheless, at this situation the studying result is absent in the verification of efficiency and validity of the emotional evaluation system, this study is to work on the availability and validity of the emotional evaluation system as the evaluation tool of the game comparing with the Jakob Nielsen's evaluation system through common user group which are the subjects.

  • As interactivity is becoming one of the key success factors in today's digital communication environment, increasing emphasis is being placed on technologies for user-oriented emotion expression. We aim for development of enabling technologies for creation of emotional characters who can express personalized emotions in real-time. In this paper, we conduct a survey on domestic and international researches and case studies for emotional characters with a focus on facial expression. The survey result is believed to have its meaning as a guideline for future research direction.

Applying Emotional Information Retrieval Method to Information Appliances Design -The Use of Color Information for Mobile Emotion Retrieval System- (감성검색법을 기초로 한 정보기기 콘텐츠 디자인 연구 -색채정보를 이용한 모바일 감성검색시스템을 사례로-)

  • The knowledge base on emotional information is one of the key elements in the implementation of emotion retrieval systems for contents design of Mobile devices. This study proposed a new approach to the knowledge base implementation by automatically extracting color components from full-color images. In this study, the validity of the proposed method was empirically tested. Database was developed using 100 interior images as visual stimuli and a total of 48 subjects participated in the experiment. In order to test the reliability of the proposed 'emotional information knowledge base', firstly 'recall ratio' that refers to frequencies of correct images from the retrieved images was derived. Secondly, correlation Analysis was performed to compare the ratings by the subjects to what the system calculated. Finally, the rating comparison was used to run a paired-sample t-test. The analysis demonstrated satisfactory recall ration of 62.1%. Also, a significant positive correlation (p<.01) was observed from all the emotion keywords. The paired Sample t-test found that all the emotion keywords except "casual" retrieved the images in the order from more relevant to less relevant images and the difference was statistically significant (t(9)=5.528, p<.05). Findings of this study support that the proposed 'emotional information knowledge base' established only with color information automatically extracted from images can be effectively used for such visual stimuli search tasks as commercial interior images.

  • 텔레매틱스(Telematics)는 IT와 인터넷의 발달로 인해 유비쿼터스라는 큰 흐름 속에 가상공간을 확장해주는 개념으로 자동차의 역사를 새롭게 변화시키고 있다. 현재는 태동 단계의 편의성과 약간의 엔터테인먼트성의 콘텐츠에 초점이 맞추어져 있지만 향후 텔레매틱스를 통해 제공되어지는 콘텐츠는 상상하기 힘들 정도로 풍부해지리라 본다. 현재 텔레매틱스 콘텐츠는 운전자와 동승자에게 구분없이 제공되고 있어 운전자의 안전을 위협하고 있는 실정이다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 운전자와 동승자에 따라 어떤 형태로 콘텐츠가 제공되어야 적합한지에 대해 연구해 보았다. 연구결과 운전자에게는 안전과 편의성 위주의 콘텐츠를 제공하고 동승자에게는 엔터테인먼트성 위주의 콘텐츠를 제공해야 하는 것으로 연구결과 나타났다.

Research Representative Color Image Emotion Emotional Image Size Changes through Tree (영상 이미지 색채 감성트리를 통한 대표감성크기 변화 연구)

When 50% brightness increase, about pleasure (X-axis) has increased by 10.49 points. Brightness 50%, GREEN 50% increase in the degree of pleasure (X-axis) of 10.49 points, tone (Y axis) has increased by 15.85 points. Brightness 50%, GREEN 50% increase in the degree of pleasure (X-axis) of 10.49 points, tone (Y axis) has increased by 15.85 points. Brightness 50% of the free-extent (X-axis), BLUE 50% when the tone (Y axis), pleasure extent (X-axis) of 10.49 points, tone (Y axis) as much as 14.65 points sensibilities have changed. When representatives emotions size changes have increased 50% brightness, color RED 50%, increased 5.4% Emotional excitement, emotion depressed declined -4.2%. 50% brightness, color GREEN 50% increase in emotional excitement had increased to 8.6%, declined by -5.5% this melancholy sensibility. Representative emotion and emotional changes increase or decrease the size of the emotional attributes were analyzed by quantitative methods. After the happy emotions number is needed to study more similar to the human emotion through the execution of the video image emotion emotional tree computing.

The Effect of Childcare Center Director's Emotional Leadership on Childcare Teachers' Emotional Intelligence and Quality of Life (어린이집원장의 감성리더십이 보육교사의 감성지능과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of child care center director's emotional leadership on childcare teachers' emotional intelligence and quality of life. For this purpose, this study conducted a questionnaire survey of 277 teachers working at child care centers located in K and J provinces. The data collected for this study were analyzed by frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson's product moment correlation, and multiple regression using SPSS Win 20.0. The results of the study are as follows. First, it was found that the child care center director's emotional leadership has a significant positive correlation with emotional intelligence, and has a 7.2% influence on child care teachers' emotional intelligence. Second, it was found that the child care center director's emotional leadership has a significant positive correlation with quality of life, and has a 9.9% influence on child care teachers' quality of life. Through these results, this study aims to provide basic data to prepare policy strategies for improving child care teachers' quality of life in terms of child care center director's emotional leadership and childcare teachers' emotional intelligence.
