Fatigue Life Assessment of Ship Structures based on Crack Propagation Analysis -Simplified Prediction Method of Stress Intensity Factors- (균열전파해석에 의한 선체의 피로수명 평가법 -응력강도계수의 간이추정법-)

  • The prediction of stress intensity factor(SIF) is one of the most important factors to analyse the propagation behavior of cracks in hull structural members. Up to now, however, simplified prediction method of SIF has not yet been established for the cracks experienced in large complex structures. As a first step to predict crack propagation behavior in a ship structure with very large structural redundancies, simplified SIF prediction formulas for various crack shapes were derived based on the results of the stress analysis under a non-crack condition in this study. The adequacy of the proposed method was then verified in comparison with other experimental and analysis results.

  • The dynamic behavior of a structure by earthquake is considerably affected by the flexibility of the base soil. This phenomenon is called dynamic soil-structure interaction effect. There are two broad categories of soil-structure interaction analytical technique: direct method and substructure method. Substructure method, in contrast to direct method, has many limitations in applying to embedded structures or structures on layered soil sites, while it is relatively simple. In this paper, a simplified soil-structure interaction analytical procedure using substructure method is proposed to eliminate its original limitations. The proposed method is well applicable to embedded structures or structures on layered soil sites with as good results as FLUSH.

  • In this paper, a new method composed of discrete element method and genetic algorithm has been introduced to estimate the safety factor and search critical slip surface on slope stability analysis. In case of estimating the safety factor, conventional methods of slope analysis based on the limit equilibrium do not satisfy the overall equilibrium condition; they must make assumptions regarding the inclination and location of the interstice forces. An alternative slope analysis method based on the discrete element method, which can consider the compatibility condition between force and displacement, is presented. Real-coded genetic algorithm is applied to the search for the minimum factor of safety in proposed analysis method. This search method is shown to be more robust than simple optimization routines, which are apt to find local minimum. Examples are also shown to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method.

  • PSC 연속 평판슬래브의 설계는 부정정 평판슬래브에 대한 정확한 해석의 어려움 등으로 등가보이론과 등가골조이론에 의한 근사식을 수정없이 사용하거나 컴퓨터를 이용한 해석에 의존하고 있으나 해석결과를 간단하게 정확히 평가할 수 있는 기법은 없는 실정이다. 또한 PSC 연속 평판슬래브의 부재력은 긴장재의 곡선형태에 따라 변하므로 실제 설계시 PS 긴장재의 정확한 곡선식을 찾는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 비부착 PSC 연속 평판슬래브를 설계할 때 기둥과 기둥을 연결하는 PS 긴장재의 기하학적 곡선형태를 결정하는 방법과, PS 긴장력으로 인해 발생하는 평판슬래브의 기둥부 휨모멘트에 대하여 판이론을 기초로 간편하게 계산하는 방법을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 이론으로 계산된 PSC 연속 평판슬래브에 대한 해석값과 유한요소 해석에 의한 지점 부모멘트를 비교 검토하여, 본 논문에서 제시한 기법의 타당성을 입증하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 설계자에게 컴퓨터의 해석결과를 간단하고 정확하게 검증할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • The country has built and is operating IT-based integrated management system for efficient management of national highway tunnels used publicly these days. Since this system doesn't include the management function on earthquakes, it is impossible to promptly respond to earthquakes and to select the sections requiring seismic reinforcement. Tunnels designed and constructed after 1999 have been subjected to seismic design for an earthquake with a return period 1000 years. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the stability of structures in case of earthquakes more than this. Since it takes a lot of time to perform the stability evaluation on various earthquake magnitudes, a method that can easily evaluate earthquakes is needed. In this paper, the empirical simplification method that can easily evaluate the earthquake was proposed. For this, the study calculated ground displacement by conducting one-dimensional ground response analysis, and examined the safety of tunnels in the event of occurrence of an earthquake using two means of response displacement method (analytics and numerical analysis).

  • To ensure the structural integrity of membrane type LNG tank, the rational assessment of impact pressure and structural responses due to sloshing should be preceded. The sloshing impact pressures acting on the insulation system of LNG tank are typical irregular loads and the structural responses caused by them also very complex behaviors including fluid structure interaction. So it is not easy to estimate them accurately and huge time consuming process would be necessary. In this research, a simplified method to analyze the dynamic structural responses of LNG tank insulation system under pressure time histories obtained by sloshing model test or numerical analysis was proposed. This technique basically based on the concept of linear combination of the triangular response functions which are obtained by the transient response analysis under the unit triangular impact pressure acting on structures in time domain. The validity of suggested method was verified through the example calculations and applied to the structural analysis of real Mark III type insulation system using the sloshing impact pressure time histories obtained by model test.

  • 최근 승용차의 급격한 수요증가와 더불어 차량의 승차감 개선에 많은 관심이 집중되면서, 저진동 저소음 차량에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 연구의 일부로서, 수치해석법 및 진동실험에 의하여 복잡한 전체 구조물을 해석할 경우, 계산기의 기억용량, 계산시간, 비용이 많이 들게 되고, 한번 해석을 행한 구조물을 부분적으로 변경할지라도 전체의 계산을 다시 수행해야만 한다. 그래서, 복잡한 전체 구조물을 몇 개의 부분구조물로 나누어, 분계의 특성에 맞게 각기 수치해석법이나 모달실험을 적용한 후, 다시 합성하는 방법이 제시되었는데, 이것이 부분구조합성법이다. 이 방법을 사용하면, 유한요소 모델링이 쉬운 분계와 실험이 쉬운 분계를 서로 구분하여 각기 해석한 후 합성함으로써, 각 분계의 특성에 맞는 효율적인 해석을 수행할 수가 있다. 지금까지의 연구를 살펴보면, 유한요소해석에 의한 모드합성법에서는 Hurty가 구속모드법을 제안한 이래, 불구속모드법, 주종계법 등 많은 연구가 있었으나, 실험모달해석을 병행할 경우에는 결합부에서의 회전자유도의 처리문제, 특성 행렬의 동정문제, 많은 절점으로부터 데이타를 얻어야 하는 등의 어려움이 있었다. 이러한 문제를 개선시켜서 Hermanski등은 회전자유도가 보간된 모드합성법(interpolated mode synthesis, IMS)을 연구하여, 적은 실험데이타만을 사용하면서 단순지지 보에 적용함으로써 타당성을 입증하였다. 한편, 차체는 복잡한 부분구조물들로 이루어져 있으므로, 본 연구에서는 유한요소모델링의 용이함, 실험의 간편성, 계산의 효율성등을 추구하며, 실험과 유한요소해석을 병행한 부분구조합성법을 차량의 BIW(body in white)에 적용하는 방법을 연구하게 되었다. 그 기본연구로서 실험과 유한요소해석을 병행하여 회전자유도를 보간하는 방법을 먼저 단순한 판구조물에 적용을 하고, 나아가 실제 BIW를 축소하여 자체 제작한 모형차에 적용시켜 보았다.물은 분계 A(16개의 사각요소)와 분계 B(8개의 사각요소)로 이루어져 있으며 두개의 스프링으로 결합되어 있다. 설계변수는 강성에 국한하였으며 결합부의 결합형태는 탄성결합과 강결합으로 하였다. 감도해석과 축소임피던스 합성법에 의해 구해진 고유진동수와 FRF를 상용 유한 요소 해석 패키지인 MSC/NASTRAN을 통하여 검증하여 이 연구의 타당성을 검토하였다.인풋기어에서의 회전수 변동을 측정하고, 이 실험 데이타를 기초로 하여 엔진 토크 및 변속기에서의 드래그 토크를 계산하여 엔진-변속기 인풋기어의 반한정계 2자유도 진동모델과 비틀림 특성을 가진 클러치 디스크의 프리댐퍼 영역에 대해 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 클러치 비틀림 기구의 설계인자인 비틀림 강성, 히스테리시스 토크에 따른 비틀림 진동 저감 효과를 연구하고자 한다.성을 확인하였다. 여기서는 실험실 수준의 평 판모델을 제작하고 실제 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 진동제어 구조물에 대 한 동적실험 및 FRS를 수행하는 과정과 동일하게 따름으로써 실제 발생할 수 있는 오차나 error를 실험실내의 차원에서 파악하여 진동원을 있는 구조 물에 대한 진동제어기술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS.   • A numerical computation of unsteady flow in the open channel was studied with the linearized four-point method of characteristics. A seiche test for this model was fulfilled and its result was very close to the exact solution. The effect of linearization to the accuracy of the result was small enough for the analysis of nearly horizontal flow, and this model would be applicable for the real unsteady flow problem because of its convenience.

  • Conventional methods of reinforced slope analysis based on the concept of limit equilibrium have been widely adopted mainly due to their simplicity and short computation time. But depending upon the assumptions on the inter-slice forces, the factor of safety resulting from the limit equilibrium method is not uniquely determined. This paper describes a method to calculate the factor of safely of a slope using a numerical analysis. Recently some useful analysis techniques (Strength reduction method and the stability method using stress fields) by numerical analysis are proposed and their theory and characteristics applications are studied and investigated with simple examples in this paper.

  • A Practical and easily applicable methods for the numerical analysis and the optimum design of continuous and horizontally curved two-way slab systems with twelve possible edge conditions are presented. The proposed method for the numerical structural analysis is based on the use of design moment coefficients which are derived from the elastic theory of thin curved plates. The optimum values are selected from within the feasible region in the design space defined by the limit state requirements. The sequential linear programming is introduced as an analytical method of nonlinear optimization. The optimum design variables, including a effective depth and transformed steel ratios per unit width of middle and column strips of slabs, are then determined.
