Development and Verification of Simplified Collision Model for Pile Protective Structures (파일형 선박충돌방호공에 대한 간이충돌모델의 개발과 검증)

  • In this study, a simplified collision model of pile protective structures against a navigation vessel was proposed and verified. The model of pile protective structure were composed by two plastic hinges at below of cap slab and the inside of ground. A nonlinear equation of motions was developed in consideration of the kinematic energy, potential energy and deformation energy in collision event. The developed simplified model were verified by the precise finite element collision analysis of the vessel and the protective structure.

A Comparative Study of Simplified Probabilistic Analysis Methods for Plane Failure of Rock Slope (암반사면의 평면파괴해석을 위한 간이 확률론적 해석 비교연구)

  • Many sources of uncertainty exist in geotechnical analysis ranging from the material parameters to the sampling and testing techniques. The conventional deterministic stability analysis of a plane failure in rock slope produce a safety factor but not a probability of failure or reliability index. In the conventional slope stability analysis by evaluating the ground uncertainty as an overall safety factor, it is difficult to evaluate the stability of the realistic rock slope in detail. This paper reviews some established probabilistic analysis techniques, such as the MCS, FOSM, PEM, Taylor Series as applied to plane failure of rock slopes in detail. While the Monte - Carlo methods leads to the most accurate calculation of the probability of safety, this method is too time consuming. Therefore, the simplified probability methods could be alternatives to the MCS. In this study, using these simple probability methods, the failure probability estimation of a plane failure in rock slope is presented.

Numerical analysis of acoustic radiation efficiency of plate structures with air bubble layers (기포층을 갖는 판 구조물의 음향 방사 효율에 관한 수치해석)

  • Underwater noise pollution has a significant impact on the marine environment. This study proposed a simple approach to estimate the acoustic radiation efficiency of structures with air bubble layers. The method considered the insertion loss caused by the air bubble layer through post-processing of numerical results, assuming that insertion loss is equivalent to attenuation as demonstrated by previous studies. The proposed approach was validated by comparing it with a fully coupled analysis for plate structure models. The commercial finite element program COMSOL Multiphysics was used for the acoustic-structure interaction analysis, and the acoustic characteristics of air bubble layer for the fully coupled analysis was simulated by on the Commander and Prosperetti theory. The trends indicated good agreement between the simple approach and the fully coupled analysis in terms of radiation efficiency. It is confirmed that the proposed method is providing insight into the principal mechanism of underwater noise reduction for the bubble layer on the wedge-shaped structure.

  • 액체금속로 IHX 의 열전달 해석모형을 개발하기 위한 일차적인 단계로서 교차류 열전달 모형특성에 대한 연구를 수행하였는 그 주요내용은 새로운 대수화 (finite differencing) 기법인 경계점 기법의 특성을 분석하여 이기법의 적절성을 확인하고 IHX 기하형태 및 운전 요건에 따른 격자수에 대한 요건을 분석하고 이로부터 IHX 해석에 간이 이차원 해석 모형 사용의 타당성을 확인하였다.

Screening Method for Flow-induced Vibration of Piping Systems for APR1400 Comprehensive Vibration Assessment Program (APR1400 종합진동평가를 위한 배관시스템의 유동유발진동 간이평가)

  • The revised U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission(NRC), Regulatory Guide(RG) 1.20, rev.3 requires the evaluation of the potential adverse effects from pressure fluctuations and vibrations on piping and components for the reactor coolant, steam, feedwater, and condensate systems. Detailed vibration analyses for the systems attached to the steam generator are very difficult, because these piping systems are very complicated. This paper suggests a screening method for the flow-induced vibration of acoustic resonances and pump-induced vibration of the piping systems attached to the steam generator in order to conduct the APR1400 comprehensive vibration assessment program. This paper seeks to address the areas such as potential vibration sources, and methods to prevent the occurrence of acoustic resonances and pump-induced vibration of piping systems attached to the steam generator, for conducting the APR1400 comprehensive vibration assessment program. The screening method in this paper will be used to estimate the flow-induced vibration of the piping systems attached to the steam generator for the APR1400.

A Simplified Bridge-vessel Collision Model Considering with the Rotational Motions of the Vessel (선체의 회전을 고려한 선박과 교량의 간이충돌모델)

  • In this study, to analyze the collision behaviors of the bridge super-structure and the vessel which the collision point is located far from its rotation center such as bridge of a vessel and equipments on a barge, the simplified collision model was proposed. The model was configured to denote the mass, stiffness and the nonlinear behaviors of the bridge and the vessel. The nonlinear equation of motions of the proposed model were numerically solved by 4th order Runge-Kutta method. The parametric studies were performed for various collision conditions by the standardized Korean barge vessel in term of barge width, and its effects to the maximum collision load of bridge were analyzed.
