Purpose: Metal fires occur in metal handling, processing, waste storage plants, etc. It is difficult for firefighters to extinguish metal fires, and it takes a long time, so caution is needed in fire suppression. Method: In this study, current statistics and problems of metal fires were introduced, and then the effectiveness was verified by experiments with using fire extinguishing agents used in Korea. Comparative suppression experiments of 5 different fire extinguishing agents for burning powders of 99.9% magnesium over 150 ㎛ were performed following the metal powder type test method of Class D fire in ISO 7165. Result: 5 fire extinguishing agents are the power types of dry sands and expanded vermiculites most commonly used in Korea, the certified class D fire extinguisher used abroad, and ochers requiring verification, and the liquid silica gel. Conclusion: The results of experiments showed expanded vermiculites were the best metal fire extinguishing agent considering effectiveness, convenience of use, and economical feasibility.

코로나19의 영향으로 최근 국내에서는 야외 야영장에서의 캠핑을 즐기는 사람들이 크게 증가하였으며, 이와 더불어 최근 야외 캠핑장의 화재 발생 건수가 크게 증가하는 추세에 있다. 캠핑장과 같은 야영장 영업허가를 얻기 위해서는 「관광진흥법 시행규칙」에 따라 소화기를 적정하게 확보 배치해야만 하는 허가 기준이 존재하며, 그 기준은 야영장 2개소 또는 100미터제곱마다 소화기 1개 이상 설치하도록 되어있다. 그럼에도 화재가 많이 발생하는 이유로는 소화기가 설치되어있다는 것에 대한 인지 부족이라 생각된다. 한편, 야외에 설치되는 소화기는 상대적으로 그 유지관리가 어려울 것이라 판단된다. 따라서 본 프로젝트에서는 무게가 무겁지 않아 아이들과 노인들도 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 휴대용 소화기구, 사용 시 환경의 오염이 적은 소화기구, 여행객의 감성을 한층 증가시켜줄 수 있는 소화기구, 유지관리가 편리한 소화기구의 개발을 목적으로 하였다.

This research is to study and analyze our country's management of disasters, the present condition of cultural heritages bases on the examples of temples, and Japan's safety management prevention of buddhist temple. As a result, this research aims to how to improve the temple fire prevention system. To improve the anti-fire system of temples, it is important to make new laws about fire lose to minimize cultural property lose. Secondly, to protect self-contained type fire alarm device, with aerosol type hand propelled fire extinguishers to prevent fire lose. Lastly, construction work of electric engineer is necessary to prevent temple fire loses.
