The Environmental Safety Evaluation on Heavy Metal Leaching of Deteriorated Concrete under Severe Conditions (가혹한 조건에서 열화된 콘크리트의 중금속 용출에 대한 환경 안전성 평가)

  • Cement industry in 1997 began to use industrial waste in cement factory for purpose of resource recycling. However recently, environmental hazard of the cement in accordance with recycling of industrial waste have been raised a problem by contamination around the cement factory and heavy metal leaching in cement. In particular, the presence of $Cr^{6+}$ in cement has become a critical issue, the studies for minimizing of $Cr^{6+}$ in cement have been performed. But, in domestic, most of the research on heavy metal leaching was carried out from the perspective of the cement. Environmental safety assessment in terms of concrete is needed because cement is used to the concrete material. Therefore, this paper was evaluated heavy metals leaching of deteriorated concrete by severe conditions. test result showed that $Cr^{6+}$ were not detected from all the variables.

  • 산업의 고도화에 따른 산업 기기의 사용 환경이 가혹해지고 있어 극한의 부식 환경에서 사용될 수 있는 다양한 합금개발이 요구된다. 타이타늄 합금은 다른 금속 소재에 비해 뛰어난 내식성을 가지고 있어 석유화학 해양 발전용 소재로 활용되고 있으며 그 적용범위가 점차 확대되고 있다. 특히, 고농도 고온의 환경조건에서 내식성이 우수하고, 기존의 합금보다 경제성이 뛰어나 타이타늄합금을 위한 연구개발이 이루어지고 있다. 본 고에서는 타이타늄 합금의 내식특성 응용 현황과 최근 합금개발관련 연구동향에 대해 기술하였다.

  • The chassis of the Korean light tactical vehicle adopts a frame-on-body structure that uses lightweight design technology in terms of equipment operating characteristics. Military vehicles are operated in much harsher conditions compared to civilian vehicles, including mountainous terrain, especially steep slopes. Due to this characteristic, frame-welded cracks were found on some military vehicles. Therefore, in this paper, road damage analysis was conducted by identifying various roads including the military unit's road. The result confirmed that the operating environment of some military units' tactical road was much harsher than the endurance road test condition. A solution was derived through defect analysis, design review, and actual vehicle driving test. This study can be used as a reference by suggesting the development direction for the durability test of a new vehicle.

  • 차세대 에너지로 주목받고 있는 수소는 그 생산방식이 여러 가지 있지만, 특히 Iodine-Sulfur Process가 주목을 받고 있다. 수소생산을 위한 IS-Process 환경은 가혹한 부식환경이기 때문에 수소의 대량생산을 위해 세워지게 될 Plant에 사용될 재료의 선정에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 IS-Process환경을 모사하여 재료의 내부식성 실험, 평가하였다. 또한, 재료의 내부식성을 향상시키기 위해 재료의 표면에 세라믹 재질을 coating하여, 재료의 내부식성을 평가하였다.

  • Due to the future of a large size satellite like Geo-stationary orbit satellite, KARI has progressed the construction of Large Thermal Vacuum Chamber(LTVC) with Φ8mXL10m, which simulates the orbit environment at space. The space environment can be characterized as very harsh conditions. Once the spacecraft is launched and enters its orbit, the satellite is exposed to this space environment. The continuous exposure to such space environment could cause malfunction of major parts of the spacecraft, which could lead to the failure of the entire mission. Due to the fact that space environment is completely different from that of the ground, the satellite that functioned normally on the ground could show some unexpected malfunction in space environment. For this reason, the performance of the spacecraft must be confirmed under the simulated conditions of the space environment. This document includes LTVC control logic, Interlock by which the LTVC can be controlled more safely and efficiently.

대형 열진공챔버용 극저온 모사장치 개발

  • The space environment is characterized such a severe condition as high vacuum and very low temperature. Since a satellite will be exposed such a space environment as soon as it goes into the its orbit, thermal vacuum test should be carried out to verify the performance of the satellite on the ground under the space environmental conditions. KARI has a thermal vacuum chamber with useful dimensions of ∮3.6m×L3m, in which KOMPSAT-1 and KOMPSAT-2 satellites were tested. But very large thermal vacuum chamber with useful dimensions of ∮8m×L10m has been needed to meet the future demand of large satellites. Generally, the thermal vacuum chamber can be divided into a vacuum system and a thermal system. Especially, a cryogenic system in the thermal system simulates very low temperature of -196℃ under the high vacuum condition. In this paper, we propose the new cryogenic system can be applied to the future large thermal vacuum chamber.

  • 원심력을 이용한 대표적인 대기오염 방지 장치인 싸이클론은 1800년대 후반이래 공기나 배출가스로부터의 분진제거 및 입자분리에 폭 넓게 사용되어 왔다. 일반적으로 싸이클론은 간단한 구조로 되어 있으며, 조작이 용이하고 운전비용이 저렴할 뿐만 아니라 가혹조건에서의 사용이 가능하다는 장점이 있다 (Shepherd and Lapple, 1939). 입자의 관성력에 의해 분진을 분리하는 싸이클론으로서는 상대적으로 낮은 관성효과를 지니는 미세입자(주로 10$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이하)들에 대한 제어효율이 낮을 수 밖에 없다(Dirge and Leith, 1985).   • 지금까지의 탐사결과 지구를 제외한 다른 행성에 생명체가 존재한다는 직접적인 증거는 찾지 못했다 .그러나 최근 미국화성탐사선 패스파인더가 보내온 자료에선 화성의 지질환경이 지구와 유사한 것으로 나타나 미생물 같은 생명체의 존재가능성을 뒷받침해 주고 있다. 또 지구상에서 화산구나 온천, 극지 등 가혹한 환경에서도 미생물들이 번창하고 있는 것이 발견돼 이런 가능성은 더욱 커지고 있다.

  • In this study, the development of the room temperature curable silica-based coating compositions for anticorrosive and antifouling performance in marine environments was carried out. The marine (plant) structures with many exposed parts are operated in harsh marine environments such as strong ultraviolet rays, extreme temperature differences and salt water corrosion. Organic paints that are easily degraded under these environments and easily eroded by physical stimuli such as waves can not play a role properly. Dense ceramic coatings on marine structures provide careful protections even in saltwater environments due to their high hardness and rust resistance. Therefore, in the case of ceramic coatings, their use and application range in marine structures can be greatly improved due to their functional advantages. In the present study, silica-based coating compositions based on colloidal silica with silane coupling agents, curing salts, and ceramic fillers were developed, and their applications as protective coatings for corrosion protection and fouling prevention in seawater were also studied.
