'Andongpo Village' Spatial Storytelling for Strengthening of Its Placeness (장소성 강화를 위한 '안동포마을' 공간스토리텔링)

  • This study aims to rediscover the meaning and the value of Andongpo Village to strengthen its placeness through spatial storytelling. It draws the placeness of the traditional village which retains the traditional way of life and the culture of hand-weaving through theoretical consideration, analysis of strengthening of placeness cases in the past and analysis of the village environment and cultural resources to understand the general context of the village. To this end, the theme of spatial storytelling was set as 'the breath of a thousand years', and sub-themes for more specific details were set as 'dedication', 'sharing','memory', 'meeting', 'health', and 'harmony'. It allowed Andongpo-po Village to become a place where traditional culture, creativity and assets of placeness co-exist thus enabling it to produce new contents, which was achieved by assigning appropriate space to each of the sub-themes, making reproduction and creation of a story based on the connection possible. In addition, the study developed a detailed program to enable visitors to become main agents who experience and complete the placeness of the village. As result, the study is expected to contribute to the increase in the brand value of Andongpo Village, the living standard of its residents and the number of tourists.

A Study on the Recognition of Modern Cultural Heritage Value of Japanese-style Building Groups Using Q Methodology - Focusing on Huam-dong, Seoul - (Q 방법론을 이용한 일본식 건물군의 근대문화유산 가치에 관한 인식 연구 - 서울시 후암동을 중심으로 -)

  • Huam-dong is a representative area from the Japanese colonial period and is the space where most Japanese-style buildings remain in Seoul. Interest in modern cultural heritage continues to increase, including the registration of cultural properties in 2001, building assets in 2015, and the registration of cultural property units in 2018. As the debate continues over the necessity of preserving cultural heritage that reminds us of the Japanese colonial, there is a need for research to grasp the perceptions of stakeholders along with the perceived value of such spaces. This study identified the subjective perception types of the stakeholders concerned with the Japanese-style building group in Huam-dong, analyzed characteristics by types, and debated the issues. For this purpose, Q methodology, which is a statistical technique for measuring human self-subjectivity and extracting common human perspectives, was used. A literature study on the values of Huam-dong and modern cultural heritage was conducted, and a Q questionnaire based on five aspects of modern cultural heritage values (historical, architectural, sociocultural, landscape, and economic) was applied. The results of the study depicted three types of cognition and showed different attitudes toward the Japanese building group. This study found a conflict comparing the perceptional differences between the types of cognition. This study is meaningful in that it provides an in-depth approach to the perspectives of the stakeholders concerned with the Japanese-style buildings clustered in central Seoul. It is also meant to present a theoretical framework that can be applied to the use area as sustainable cultural heritage through the establishment of preservation and utilization of Japanese-style areas and conflict resolution.

The Gap between Social Stratification in the Aftermath of the 1997 Financial Crisis: The Change of Living Conditions and Daily Life as a Consumer. (외환위기 이후 계층의 양극화: 변화된 일상과 소비생활)

  • This study examines the changes of income, everyday life and living condition of consumer in the aftermath of financial crisis. In this period financial crisis was the crucial factor behind various social problems such as the dissolution of families and individuals. This research explores the range and degree of impact on individuals and social groups after the financial crisis. We explore the social mobility in terns of maintaining middle class and falling into the lower class measured by middle class identification. The 60% of the middle class before the financial crisis maintained the middle class position and the rest of people left out of middle class and fell into lower class. The 60% of those who has been maintained and has just became the members of middle class were college - educated people. The great part of people whose income and assets has increased after financial crisis belongs to college - educated group. Many of those whose income have decreased belong to the high school educated group and blow, the older than 50 years old, self - employed without employee and unpaid family employee. Those whose income and assets decreased and those who experienced downward mobility have undergone changes in everyday life and living conditions as a consumer. Many of them experienced the unemployment, nonpayment or credit - delinquency, dissolution of family, worsening health condition, depression, feeling the impulse to commit suicide simultaneously. The poor consumer disposition, reduction of living expenses, sound consumer culture have expanded to people since economic crisis. The middle class reported that the cost of private education often goes beyond the family ability to pay. The lower class has suffered from the cost of living. In a meanwhile luxury goods preference, consumer consciousness for status symbol have continuously increased among all the classes since 1997. Thus fluctuations of one's income and social mobility during past 10 years were some of the major determinants which brought about the various damaging life events, changes of living conditions and everyday lives as a consumer.

A Survey on the Forest Cultural Assets in the Southern Coastal Areas for the Designation and Maintenance of Law-protected Trees (보호수 지정 및 관리를 위한 남해안 지역 산림문화자산 실태조사)

  • Forests are one of the basic assets nearest our daily lives that provide the foundation of life necessities, culture and even survival. These assets pervade local residents' lives as culture and the necessities of life, and they will be handed down to posterity. Therefore, this study was conducted to carry out a field survey on old trees, plant communities and forests in the southern coastal areas in Korea, where not many surveys were not conducted on the forest cultural assets, further examining a possibility that some of the trees should be designated as law-protected. As for the survey of plants, this study investigated 80 different spots of old trees, plant communities and forests, located in 11 cities and counties in Gyengnam Province and Jeonnam Province adjacent to the southern coast of Korea. To measure the health and actual maintenance conditions of old trees and plant communities objectively, the standard of judgment was established through the brain storming of experts. As a result of the field survey, out of all the old trees and plant communities that are not law-protected, this study selected old trees and plant communities that are in good health and likely to pass the standard of designating law-protected trees according to the Established Rule 574 of the Korea Forest Service Regulation. As for the plant community and old trees likely to be law-protected, this study judged that the torreya forest in Naneum Li, Namhae and old trees in 13 spots, in cluding so-called 'Couple Pine Tree' in Pyeongsa Li, Hadong, have a high possibility of being designated as a law-protected plant community and old trees. As for the species of old trees, there were 3 zelkova serrata trees, 3 celtis sinensis persoon trees, 2 pinus densiflora trees, 1 castanopsis cuspidata tree, 1 salix chaenomeloides tree and 1 machilus thunbergii tree found in the survey areas. Overall, this study judged that those old trees and plant communities require a national systematic maintenance by being designated as law-protected ones, and their values should be handed down to posterity as our forest cultural assets.

Estimating the Damage Cost of Deforestation due to Limestone Mining: Focusing on Donghae, Samcheok and Yeongwol City (석회석 광산에 의한 산림 피해의 비용 추정: 동해시, 삼척시, 영월군을 중심으로)

  • This study estimates the WTP for the plan of solving deforestation due to limestone mining and calculates that damage cost using contingent valuation method. As the results of analysing a dichotomous choice CV data, the yearly mean WTP per household for the plan is 5,045 won(95% confidence interval : 3,729~6,360 won) in single bounded CV model and is 4,361 won(95% confidence interval : 3,710~5,012 won) in double bounded CV model. The damage cost of deforestation due to limestone mining can be estimated as 55.3% of WTP for the plan which is assigned to restoring the deforestation area to the original or similar alternative state. The average yearly deforestation cost of 1 ha due to limestone mining is reached 20.90 million won(95% confidence interval : 16.53~25.27 million won). And the asset value of that 1 ha damage is 160.02 million won(95% confidence interval : 126.56~193.49 million won). The fact is found that the damage cost of deforestation using replacement cost method is likely to be underestimated. The total damage cost of deforestation because of limestone mining in 3 cities (Donghae, Samcheok, Yeongwol) is 204.0 billion won(95% confidence interval : 161.4~246.7 billion won) which is composed of 26.5% for Donghae, 28.9% for Samcheok, and 44.6% for Yeongwol according to the damage size of deforestation due to limestone mining in 3 cities.

  • Generally, brand is the title for discriminating their own goods and service from other competitive company, brand-image means customer's good and bad affection or loyalty the brand of specific company. Customers often choose the goods according to the value of goods brand. In terms of this viewpoint, the value of company's brand is very important factor to the company's success. Brand-image also effects customers on selling company's goods. Specially, to the hotel business that should ensure lots of customer for a long period with the interest and credit of customers, its brand-image is more significant. What the image is looked upon as a important factor in marketing is due to the difficulty of discrimination against goods standardized in price and quality. Therefore, the company's image acts as a more important marketing factor in the high industrial society. Also it means a lot to the customer's purchasing behavior. When the company's brand-image is recognized or discriminated, customer's memory is longer and customer's reliability is raised than other company's advertisement and public information. Nowadays, most of hotels are perceiving the importance on their own brand-image but in the lack of deep study and systematic strategy in reality. The purpose of this study is to research the effect on customer's purchasing intention of hotel brand-image and choice-attribution. The empirical research has been done from 23April, 2004 to 20May, 2004. Data were collected from general customers who are using hotel located in Taegu. In conclusion, hotel brand-image depends highly on, the service quality of hotel staff and reputation of hotel. Besides, this acts on customer's hotel choice decisively.

Using a Choice Experiment to Measure the Non-market Value of Sea Water Quality with a Focus on the Incheon Special Area Management Plan (선택실험법을 이용한 해역수질 속성의 비시장적 가치 추정: 인천특별관리해역을 중심으로)

  • The coast of Incheon reaches Incheon itself, Gimpo, Siheung, and Ansan of Gyunggi-do. Because this area has been seriously polluted, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has established the Incheon Special Area Management Plan (SAMP) to preserve sea water quality as a marine environment asset. However, there is concern that actions taken in this area may change the surrounding marine ecology, being effected by farms, via a river that flows from waste lands, abandoned fishing activities and fishing nets, etc. Given this background, this study estimates the value of SAMP sea water quality using a choice experiment (CE). A CE survey of 1,000 households was undertaken, investigating trade-offs involving price and four attributes for selecting a preferred alternative to obtain a marginal willingness to pay (MWTP) estimate for each attribute. The estimation results showed that MWTP for a 1 %p improvement in sea water quality, the diversity of fauna species, the diversity of flora species, and a 1 %p reduction in marine litter as a result of conserving Incheon coastal sea water quality are estimated to be KRW 75, 135, 309 and 72 per household per year, respectively. All estimation results were statistically significant at the 1 % level. These findings can provide policy makers with useful information for evaluating and planning marine environmental management policies.

A Study on Developmental Alternatives of Regional Cultural Contents : The case of Chongju Jikji Festival (지역 문화 콘텐츠의 발전 방안 - 청주직지축제를 중심으로 -)

  • The Jik-ji has been proved as the oldest historical property in the world. And Now we are trying to make Jik-Ji as the representative cultural brand of Chung-buk. This paper analysed deterministic factors of the total satisfaction and consumption expenditure at the Jik-JI Festival, based on econometric method. We obtained several results. As expected we got positive relation between economic variable like income and satisfaction - expenditure of participants, but we didn't get anticipated results from demographic variables. Or so, men have high degree of satisfaction and expenditure, compared to women. But participants from outside Chung-buk had negative relations to satisfaction and expenditure of the event. Therefore, in order to develop Jik-Ji Festival as world-wide festival, it is necessary to build long term master plan and public organization of Jik-Ji Festival.

A Study of the Effect of Intangible Asset on Firm Value : Focused on KOSDAQ-Listed Medium-Sized Companies (기업의 무형자산이 기업가치에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 코스닥 상장 중견기업을 중심으로)

  • According to the growing importance of science and technology policy, investment in research and development (R&D) has been increased. In this context, a patent as one of outcome of firm's systematic R&D investment is the way to hold a dominant position in companies' technology competitiveness and also to protect technology right. This study attempts to find the effects of input resources and intellectual property production activity on company value. It conducted empirical analysis based on 238 KOSDAQ-listed and medium-sized firms. Using the previous research, this study configurated research variables about activity of patent production, company value, and input of resources. Through these variables, it aims to know the effect of input of resources and activity of patent production on company value. First, the result of regression analysis shows that R&D cost has the positive effect on a patent production and sales promotion cost positively affects on the registration of the trademark. Second, the output of regression analysis indicates that a patent has the positive effect on company value but a trademark has not. With regard to the input of resources, R&D cost has the influence on company value but sales promotion cost has not. This study attempts to find the effectiveness of company's intellectual property registration on its value and suggests a way that the systematic R&D investment contributes the growth of company value.

성공적인 기업벤처캐피탈(CVC) 운영에 대한 탐색적 연구

  • 최근의 사회경제적 변화는 그 속도가 빨라짐과 동시에 불학실성이 극도로 높아짐에 따라, 대기업을 비롯하여 과거 큰 성장을 이루어왔던 기성기업들의 기존 사업 강화와 미래 성장동력 확보가 더욱 어려운 현실이 되었다. 이러한 불확실성이 높은 기업환경에서 내부 시스템에만 의존적인 전략으로는 한계가 명확하여, 기업들이 외부의 자원을 활용하여 내부적인 대규모 투자 위험을 줄이고 신규사업의 불확실성에 대처하는 개방형 혁신전략이 필수적으로 받아들여져 왔다. 이러한 개방적 혁신 전략의 중요한 수단으로서 CVC(Corporate Venture Capital)는 그동안 미국을 중심으로 40여년간 활발히 활용되어 왔고 학문적 연구 대상으로 자리 잡았으나, 한국에서는 극히 일부 기업을 통해서만 전략적으로 운영되어 왔고 그 구분도 명확하지 않아 CVC에 대한 연구가 상당히 미약한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 국내외의 기존 연구 결과들을 분석하여 CVC에 대한 정의와 운영상 특징에 대하여 살펴보고, CVC가 운영 기업 및 벤처기업의 기술혁신과 가치제고에 미치는 제반 조건들의 분석을 통하여 CVC가 성공적인 양방향적 성과도출을 만드는 최적의 모델을 도출하여 보았다. CVC는 첫째, 불확실성이 높은 산업에 속한 기업들간의 투자관계가 성립될 때, 둘째, 설립 시 전략적인 포커스가 명확할 때, 셋째, 모기업이 영위하는 산업과 같은 분야에 속한 벤처기업들에 투자하며 동시에 서로가 공유 할 보완적 자산이 존재할 때, 마지막으로, 금융적 성과에 대해서 해당 매니저에 대한 성과보상을 일반 벤처캐피탈과 동일하게 지급할 때 가장 성공적인 성과를 만들어 낼 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통해 도출된 시사점들을 바탕으로 더 많은 기성기업들이 성공적으로 CVC를 운영한다면, 신성장동력 확보와 대기업-벤처기업간 상생혁신을 이룰 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 창업문화 확산에도 기여를 할 수 있을 것으로 기대 한다.
