  • This study examined the patient's advantage and respect self-decision to protect human dignity and values, who are on the pathway of the hospice palliative care and death process. The study subjects were the elderly who had signed the advance medical directives at C Christian religious facilities in S region. The survey period was started on July 1st, 2019 and lasted for ten days. The study resulted in four topics and eight sub-topics on the motivation for preparing advanced medical directives. The four topics were 'for children', 'fear of pain', 'want to clear my life', 'felt the necessity', and the sub-topics were 'don't want to make a burden to children', 'don't want to make a worry of medical expenses', 'fear of pain', 'have experience of taking caring of painful death process', 'relaxed mind', 'importance of self-decision', 'have known it before but now decided', and 'it is the new information and decided'. This research is meaningful in that it can form the basis for improving well-dying education programs for the good death of the elderly and supplementing effective systems for preparing advance medical directives.

  • This study aims to predict the changes in population distribution in Korea by considering spatio-temporal characteristics of major migration reasons. For the purpose, we analyze the spatio-temporal characteristics of each major migration reason(such as job, family, housing, and education) and estimate the transition probability, respectively. By appling Markov chain model processes with the ChapmanKolmogorov equation based on the transition probability, we predict the changes in the population distribution for the next six years. As the results, we found that there were differences of population changes by regions, while there were geographic movements into metropolitan areas and cities in general. The methodologies and the results presented in this study can be utilized for the provision of customized planning policies. In the long run, it can be used as a basis for planning and enforcing regionally tailored policies that strengthen inflow factors and improve outflow factors based on the trends of population inflow and outflow by region by movement factors as well as identify the patterns of population inflow and outflow in each region and predict future population volatility.

  • The status of breast cancer screening of women at a breast clinic in a small city in Korea-Using medical records Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate breast cancer incidence by age, including those under 40, and to emphasize the importance of early breast cancer screening for young breast cancer patients. Method: The study was designed as a retrospective survey method. We investigated the medical charts of 483 patients diagnosed with breast cancer among 23,200 visitors to local breast clinic from May 1, 2010 to April 30, 2020. Results: The average age of 483 patients was 47.9, with 36% in their 40s and 28.6% under 40. Among the patients, 5.4% had a family history of breast cancer, and 70.8% were pre-menopausal. The most common reason for visiting the clinic was the mass(54.2%). The size of tumors was less than 2cm (56%), followed by 2-5cm (43.4%) and more than 5cm (5.6%). The size of tumors was smaller in the asymptomatic case than in the symptomatic case. In the pathologic results, invasive ductal cancer was the most common at 80.3%. Conclusions: Breast cancer screening program should be activated even for young women under the age of 40. We suggest educating the importance of breast cancer screening, and lowering the age of national breast cancer screening program.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of early childhood teachers for early childhood creativity programs using physical computing in an effort to provide future direction for program development. The findings were as follows: First, 43.8 percent of teachers answered they were neutral about the need for these programs, while 40.5 percent replied these programs were necessary. Second, 73.8 percent thought the utilization of physical computing tools would be useful. Third, the largest group thought that the programs should be provided for five-year-olds. Regarding the frequency of programs, once or twice a week were considered most appropriate. Concerning the length of each activity, 20 to 30 minutes was identified as ideal, and study subjects preferred small group activities. In regard to the most effective theme for these programs, tools for daily life were considered best. As for educational content to be included in program planning, scientific inquiry and experiment were viewed as best, followed by the design/ production/utilization of creative works, game and play, and producing and playing musical instruments. Evaluation by a creativity test was chosen as the most desirable evaluation method.

The research method is to identify the current status of Customized Nursery services and to recognize the recognition and need of the operation of Customized Nursery School. The importance of securing skilled nurses and preventing them from changing their jobs for the health and safety of people cannot be emphasized enough. A Customized Nursery School must be opened to reduce the retirement or change of jobs of working women nurses and to provide care for continuous work in three shifts from 365days to support the balance between the working mother and family. In addition, we verify the mediation effect of social support on the relationship between ego resilience and psychological well-being so as to find ways to improve the psychological well-being of adolescents. For this study, I conducted a survey at middle schools in Seoul and Incheon and collected 289 answered questionnaires. For analyses of the survey results, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were carried out using SPSS 23.0. The results confirmed significant correlations among ego resilience, social support, and psychological well-being of adolescents. Furthermore, social support was found to have a partial mediation effect on the relationship between ego resilience and psychological well-being of adolescents. For improving the psychological well-being of adolescents based on the results of this study, an in-depth counseling program that can strengthen ego resilience in adolescents should be developed and actively used in the education field. Furthermore, various efforts should be made to improve the social support of adolescents, such as the development of a communication program to help students. Specifically, this program should aim to assist students connect with teachers and seniors by strengthening social support from friends and improving the functions of family to provide social and psychological supports.

  • This society faces problems from unequal access to quality education which eventually lead to unequal distribution on wealth. Specifically, those youths with disabilities have a higher risk of living in poverty and becoming marginalized. First established in 2009, the Dodream program has addressed the issue of poverty fixation by establishing long-term supports for households of youths or adults with disabilities through case management. This study analyzes the effectiveness of Dodream program for youths with or youths whose parents are with disabilities on low-income households. The results of the study indicate that the Dodream program leads to improvements in self-concepts and career consciousness among youth. The program was particularly effective in improving the career preparedness of those who were involved. By establishing connections and collaborating with regional case management base institutions and cooperation centers, the program secured various social support resources. Finally the study presents plans on vitalizing the youth support by thoroughly investigating the cases of each study and establishing the program as long-term Human Capital Investment Model.
