Recently, alarmed by the frequent international terrorism or safety accidents, the host countries of world sports events are focusing on security activities for the sake of the participants, facilities, events and competitions. They are alarmed because in case any happenings like international terrorism or safety accident, the contest itself can be criticized to be a failure as much as the international reliability of the host nation may well crash. We can see that any failure in coping with terrorism or safety matters can lead to a nation-wise crisis in the case of Indonesia where the October 12th of 2002 terrorist bomb attack in Bali damaged the image of the nation followed by the similar case in Philippine (Oct. 20th, 2002) where the same terrorist attack dramatically scared away the tourists to the nation. Korea is scheduled to hold the World Championship in Athletics in Daegu Metropolitan City in 2011. Also, it is slated to host various world sports events such as Yeosu International Exposition and Incheon Asian Games. In these contexts, this study analyzes counter-terrorism cases related with the recent international sports events that have been organized in a variety of manners in the era of globalization. This study aims to show alternatives for the safety management in these events. In other words, it is focusing on giving directions to the safety policies of the nation -which may become the future hub of north-east Asia and the world - for more perfect guard and defense, and counter-terrorism activities in all the conferences, sports events and international festivals where any private defense and guard companies are allowed to cooperate with the police force or public security agencies.
This study aimed to analyze the operating expenses and to estimate the standard child-care service cost in family childcare centers. The subjects were 442 family childcare centers in Korea and the data were analyzed with descriptive statistics by using SPSS 18.0 programs. The main results were as follows. Firstly, as the result of operating expenses analyses of family childcare centers, monthly average staff wages were 5,120,000 won and average general operating costs per month were 5,114,170 won. Therefore, monthly average operating costs of family childcare centers were totally 10,234,170 won. Secondly, the four standard child care service costs were calculated on the basis of the directors holding an additional teacher's position concurrently, whether the additional cooking staff were employed or not, and the type of lunch/snack materials.
This paper aims to examine whether there are significant differences in various aspects of a household's arrangements by type of employment of married woman; 1) the extent of the division of labor, 2) the authority of decision making, and 3) financial and expenditure responsibilities. It also investigates the determinants of gender equality in the family. Based on data collected in the fall of 2002 from a representative sample of the Korean population, this study finds that nonstandard employment of married woman including temporary work and daily basis work does not contribute to gender equality within the household, although most of nonstandard employees are full-time workers. However, standard employment of married woman contribute to gender equality in the family. The results of this study show that husbands whose wives are standard-employed are more likely to take part in housework chores that are female-dominated, and standardly employed wives are more likely than non-standardly employed or housewives to take part in the household's financial and expenditure responsibilities. Standardly employed wives also have more power in decision making process within households. On the contrary, non-standardly employed wives gain no advantage over housewives within their families, due to lack of bargaining resources that enable them to affect the household's arrangements. Thus, they have confronted additional burdens, which stem from carrying the dual role of doing house work as well as paid work. Such increasing work-family conflict may bring about disruption of family. Therefore, this study maintains that it is high time that government-level efforts should be made in order to improve the status of irregularly employed wives in the workplace.

This study aims to explore the cultural contact experience of the Vietnamese Marriage Immigrant's between Vietnamese and Korean culture which is based on the traditional holidays. In order to achieve the goal of this study, this study was conducted by case study method and the data collection was conducted through in - depth interviews with 7 Vietnamese marriage immigrant women. The results of the study are as follows. However, they were able to confirm their aggressive adaptation in their domestic and social environments through their experience of traditional Korean festivals. Based on these findings, this study proposes the following suggestions for successful immigrant marriage immigration. First, for a harmonious family life in a Vietnamese multicultural families, it is not a one-way education for married immigrant women, but a mutual culture Education should proceed. As a preliminary study for developing cooking techniques to improve cooked rice flavor, we surveyed consumer perceptions on purchasing rice and the consumption of cooked rice. The quantity of rice purchased by consumers was in the range of $1O{\sim}20$ kg. The purchase criterion for 50% of the subjects was the taste of the cooked rice, and half of the subjects bought their rice at a supermarket. A majority (90%) of the subjects consumed the rice within 1 to 4 months, storing it raw in the package (32.4%) or in a container at room temperature. The rice was cooked for 2 to 5 persons (65%), 1 to 2 times a day (70%) with a pressure cooker (76%). The rice and water volume were measured by eye. The cooked rice was eaten immediately (41.8%) or in 1 to 2 days (48.6%) by keeping it in an electric cooker (63.6%). The subjects perceived the rice cultivar (37.9%) as the major factor for the cooked rice flavor, as well as the region of origin (21.3%), and storage period (11.9%); the cultivars of Ilmi, Ilpoom and Chuchung were preferred. In conclusion, the consumers regard rice as a principal food; however, the methods to measure rice and water are not standardized. To improve the taste of cooked rice, consumers depend on cooking equipment and the rice cultivar.
This study serves the main research purpose of verifying the hypothetical relationship between antecedent and consequence variables of shopping experience based on the classification system by Schmitt (1999) who dimensionalized experience into five components (sense, feel, think, act, relate). Specifically, the study seeks to fulfill the following three research objectives. First, it substantiates dynamic relationships among the five experiential components comprising the strategic experiential modules that serve as the basis of the theoretical framework of the study. Especially, it focuses on interactive relationships among the experiential components by taking a holistic view of the experience. Second, the study seeks to uncover the effects of pre-experiential antecedents such as shopping motivation and shopping involvement, based on taxonomy of motivation as product-centered vs. experience-centered. Third, the study investigates the effects of shopping experience on intention to revisit with regard to department store, discount store, and Internet shops, based on customers' store experiences. The major findings from this study are as follows: first, the five experiential components were found to have a high level of correlations according to hypothesis verification. Second, shopping motivation was learned to have significant effects on preference toward thinking as well as feeling experiences. That is, product-centered (vs. experience-centered) shopping motivation exerted a greater influence on cognitive (vs. affective experience than affective (vs. cognitive) experience.

Objective: This study was performed to explore the effectiveness of community organization as a strategy for health promotion. Methods: We used data from community health interviews from 6 administrative sections (eup, myeon, or dong) with high mortality from August to October, conducted once in both 2010 and 2013 as part of the Health Plus Happiness Plus Projects based on the concept of community empowerment in Gyeongsangnam-do Province. For 2010, the study subjects comprised a systematic sampling of 220 adults from each of the six sections for a total of 1320 subjects, and for 2013, 200 from each section for a total of 1200 subjects. We compared main health behavior indicators and empowerment score between these two years. Results: Smoking prevalence in men was 47.4% in 2013, and 47.7% in 2010, respectively. Prevalence of walking 5 days or more per week was 35.6% in 2013, significantly lower than 46.2% in 2010. Also, during that period, both biennial health examination rate and biennial gastric cancer screening rate among those 40 years of age and over significantly increased from 57.7% to 63.6% and from 49.3% to 55.0%, respectively. Mean empowerment score at the community level significantly increased from 12.6 to 14.0. Conclusions: This study suggests that the three-year implementation of community organization might have helped to increase the participation rate of biennial health examinations including cancer screenings in the community. However, this was not the case for smoking cessation and walking. Further studies are needed for evidence-based health promotion.
