In this research, results of measuring temperature and relative humidity of underground-air-heat in Jeju showed $15{\sim}18^{\circ}C$ and 70~80% each which are somewhat high compare to other regions. So the Multi-effect dehumidifying and heating Heat Pump system which has merged functions of dehumidification and heating is made to solve this problem mentioned previously. When the suction air was $15^{\circ}C$ with 60% humidity, the outcome was 1.70 on $COP_h$ and 1.797(kg/h) on total amount of dehumidification, and also showed 1.87 $COP_h$ with 1.87 total amount of dehumidification under the condition of $20^{\circ}C$ and 80% humidity of suction air. Furthermore, $COP_h$ showed increased number which is 1.87 and also total amount of dehumidification increased which was 3.269(kg/h). The highest COP can be achieved at $17^{\circ}C$ and 70% relative humidity condition.

Concrete is inherently a good fire-resistance material among all other constrcution materials and protects the reinforcing steel inside. This study investigates the material characteristics of concrete and steel bar inside the full scale reinforced concrete(RC) beam exposed to fire test. The fire test specimen was 4 m long and the test was conducted under no loading condition following KS F 2257. Fire source is simulated by ISO 834 and number of thermocouples were installed to measure temperature variation of surfaces and inside of the beam. The measured compressive strength of cored specimen, which was exposed to fire test, was 11 MPa, about 66% lower than the strength before exposure. The yielding strength of steel bar also decreased about 75 MPa, about 17% lower. The measured temperature of protected steel bar was around $649^{\circ}C$, the critical limit, after 4 hour exposure.
In case of fire in a high-rise building fire can be easily spread along the building external walls dramatically if the flame comes out through broken windows. There are a few effective methods to prevent the fire spread at the moment. One is using a fire resistance window, and the other is using a window sprinkler that discharges water to resist flame in case of fire. In this study a window sprinkler which is installed on top of windows and prevents fire by discharging water when its heat-responsive element opens was tested using a large scale furnace in accordance with the standard temperature-time graph. Test result showed that one window sprinkler was able to protect a 2,400 mm wide window from fire for 2 hours and the window backside's temperature locally increased up to $126^{\circ}C$ but kept stable around $100^{\circ}C$ for the test duration.
Concrete is generally accepted to have good inherent fire resistance. It mainly relies on the assumption that concrete has low heat-transfer characteristic and spatting does not occur during the course of a fire. However, the significant numbers of fire accidents have shown in recent years that incidence of spatting has caused sever damages to many structures. This review has systematically investigated the behaviour of concrete in fire, including phenomenon of spatting, with respect to the theorical consideration and experimental results. Explosive spatting is caused by the build-up of water vapor pressure in concrete subjected to increasing temperatures. When this pressure exceeds the tensile strength of the concrete over a fire-exposed area, explosive spatting can result in a typical temperature range between $200^{\circ}C\;and\;400^{\circ}C$. The major functions are known to be moisture content, pore pressure, load ratio, and heating regime.

In this study we could contribute to the development of a precise checking tool with which the reliability of the automatic fire detection systems was enhanced and the safety of the people was ensured. In the same way as the domestic technical standard, the portable smoke sensitivity tester, which was developed in this work, could be used to check the capability of the smoke detectors installed in the field. Its heater inside was warmed up to $400^{\circ}C$ in 40 seconds and the paper as a smoke source was burned to produce smoke for the test. With the Photoelectric smoke detector it was possible to measure and control the smoke concentration in a range from 0%/m to 25%/m. With the adjustment of rpm of the fan, it was possible to keep a constant wind velocity in a range from 20cm/sec to 40cm/sec.

Reinforced concrete columns exposed to fire experience severe deterioration in material properties and subsequent structural capacities. Degree of losses in structural capacity of a column due to fire-damage mainly depends on the amount of heat transferred into the column during the fire. A reasonable heat transfer model of fire-damaged reinforced concrete column needs to take into account the heat-dependent nonlinear properties of heat conductivity and heat capacity of concrete as well as the evaporation of moistures in a section during the fire. Compared to the previously suggested models, the developed model in this study has included all these parameters in its numerical expressions based on explicit finite difference method. The developed model could predict the temperature changes with a reasonable accuracy for the columns exposed to fire.
Recently, since the advanced nano technology develops unique physical and chemical properties different from those of the conventional materials. Normal concretes mixed with nano - $SiO_2$ have been studied to improve the fire-resistance with high strength and lower heat conductivity. In this pilot study, the nano-particle contents in the specimens (${\Phi}100{\times}200 mm$) were 0, 2, 4, and $6\%$ by weight of cement, and fire-temperatures $200^{\circ}C$, $500^{\circ}C$, and $800^{\circ}C$ were considered. The results show that as the nano-particle contents increases, the weight loss of concrete gradually decreases, and the compressive strength after fire-attack increases effectively.

The object of this paper is to find the characteristics of fire proof materials through an analytical method and to suggest a proper approach for fire-proof design of reinforced concrete beam strengthened with fiber reinforced polymer (FRP). Heating tests for fire-proof materials were conducted and the thermal conductivities and specific heats of them were simulated through finite element analyses. In addition, a finite element analysis on the beam specimen strengthened with FRP under high temperature, which was conducted by previous researchers, was performed and the analytical result was compared with test result. And then the compatibility of the analytical approach was evaluated. Finally, the heat resistance characteristic of RC beam strengthened with FRP was analyzed by the proposed analytical method and the strength decrease of the beam due to the high temperature was evaluated. From the comparison with analytical and test result, it was found that the heat transfer from outside to inside through the fire-proof materials can be suitably simulated by using the proposed analytical approach.

The purpose of this study is to determine the possibilities of blending carbon black, which is known for its permeability as well as its strong heat and fire resistance, into concrete, in a manner that reinforces its strengths mentioned above. Experiments show that in non-solidified, fresh-mixed concrete, the addition of carbon black effectively reduced slump level and air content due to its absorptiveness and minute particle size. It also showed good results in terms of coagulation time, penetration resistance and bleeding level. In solid concrete, it showed better strength than plain concrete. Due to the pozzolanic reaction, its strength became more pronounced over time. At approximately 850 degrees Celsius, the heat and fire resistance level increased in parallel to the level of chemical substitution (by carbon black). Drying shrinkage level appeared to be optimal, and environmental assessment test results related to CO, CO2 and formaldehyde also scored better than plain concrete. In summary, with the appropriate use of AE water-reducing agents, carbon black can prove to be a strong candidate as an ingredient for industry-grade concrete.

The main objective of this study is to develop a test for measuring the bond shear strength between pavement layers. The research is also conducted to evaluate tack coat materials and application rate in porous pavement. The experiment includes using two types of emulsions (RSC-4, Modified Emulsion) and a asphalt binder type (HM-1). HM-1 was developed to be applied in porous pavement. The bond shear strengths were measured by a direct shear type device under various test conditions. The shear strength may not be appropriate in the evaluation of the bond shear strength, while the toughness of the test may be useful. In case of the tack coat application rate in porous pavement, RSC-4 has to be used a minimum amount of $0.8l/m^2$ and modified emulsion asphalt has to be applied a volume of use $0.5{\sim}0.6l/m^2$. HM-1, asphalt cement type, is far stronger bond shear strength than emulsified asphalt tack coat and had showed the excellent trackless property.
