최근 교육부의 가상대학 설비의지가 표명되면서 각 대학과 소프트웨어개발업자들은 가상대학의 구현에 노력을 기울이고 있다. 외국에서는 명문대학이건 2년제 대학이건 또는 통신대학이건 오래 전부터 원격교육의 형태가 활성화되어 있었으며 최근에는 각종 정보 기술 및 매체를 활용하여 보다 효율적이고 본격적인 가상교육 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 이러한 가상대학의 도래는 오늘날의 정보화사회에서 홈뱅킹, 전자상거래, 재택근무등의 사회현상과 동일한 맥락에서 필연적인 당위성을 내포하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가상대학의 구성형태별 특징 및 현황을 조사하고 또한 가상대학 구현을 위한 솔루션 현황을 조사하여 향후 가상대학의 발전 방향에 대한 연구와 가상대학 시스템의 설계를 위한 기본 자료로서 제공하고자 한다.

Recent advances in technologies such as internet have led to the emergence of virtual universities. However, existing technologies have many problems to be applied on virtual university implementation. Especially, existing transaction models are not appropriate to support virtual universities. In this paper, we present a transaction model to support virtual universities. First, we discuss general virtual university environments. After that, we introduce transaction model requirements for virtual universities. Those requirements include on-line processing, flexibility on transaction length, unpredictability, interactivity and parallelism. Then, we present a transaction model reflecting those requirements, and transaction processing techniques. Finally, we discuss future research issues based on our transaction model and processing techniques.

Today, many universities are confronted with the changing education paradigm such as e-Learning, CBT(Computer-based Training), Virtual University. Particularly, the Virtual University is now in the countrys educational mainstream as a legitimate, potentially standards-setting educational environment. These streams are certainly a new opportunity or threat to our universities. To overcome this problem, we should think this as strategic, and should implement IT-based Virtual University System to which computer and network technology is main edge. So, we think that the Virtual University System is SIS(Strategic Information System) which support universitys future education strategies. We proposed a planning framework for the Virtual University System. The framework which is based on the IS planning methodology is composed of such as environment analysis, requirement analysis of the system, strategic roles and objectives setting, scenario analysis of budget and revenue. To define the strategic roles and objectives of the system, we surveyed it on the side of instructors. We proposed five factors, which are to (1) improve competitiveness (2) reduce cost and secure profit (3) enhance education services (4) change the future education model (5) decrease dysfunctions of virtual education model.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic concepts and ideas to the developmental approach for expanding digital libraries that support internal cyber universities in its current early stage. It examines present conditions of both internal and external cyber universities. fundamental elements of digital libraries, and technologies associated with digital libraries. Furthermore, the study discusses user-centered Libraries, and defines the roles of librarians in managing an effective digital library.

본 논문은 가상 공간에서 운영할 수 있는 가상 대학 모델에 관해 기술한다. 인터넷을 통한 가상 교육의 발달로 인하여 많은 사람들에게 교육의 기회가 부여되었다. 많은 교육의 기회의 부여는 온라인을 통하여 사용자의, 자료가 도청 흑은 변경이 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 보안 문제를 해결하기 위해 전자문서의 보호와 검증에 대하여, 공개키 기반 구조 모델과 OTP(One-Time Password)를 이용하여 주요시스템의 업무 및 기능을 정의한다. 기존에 사용되는 가상대학 모델의 문제점을 제시하고 새로운 가상 대학 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 제시한 방식을 통해 안전한 가상대학 모델의 하고 신뢰성을 바탕으로 사용자의 수업 참여를 확대(유도)하는 수단으로써 활용될 수 있다.

삼보정보통신은 지난달 한양대학교의 디지털도서관 구축을 완료하고 시연회를 가졌다. 과거의 도서관은 단순히 서지정보만을 제공하는 역할을 담당했지만 지금은 텍스트정보 뿐만 아니라 화상, 소리, 동화상까지 제공하는 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있다. 또한 디지털도서관은 가상대학의 핵심요소로 관련업계에서는 초미의 관심사가 되어있다. 삼보정보통신의 디지털도서관 구축사례를 소개함으로써 가상대학을 추진하고 있는 대학에게 도움이 되고자 한다.
