In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate a self-seeding FP-LD (Fabry Perot Laser Diode) to verify the possibility of a new tunable light source that can be used in WDM-PON (Wavelength Division Multiplexing - Passive Optical Network) system. The conventional implementation of WDM-PON using a tunable light source has a disadvantage that the center wavelength of the AWG (Arrayed Waveguide Grating) device and the tunable light source must be precisely aligned. However, the proposed tunable light source has the advantage that the tunable wavelength is automatically aligned with the center wavelength of the AWG as well as simple structure. The implemented tunable light source had a tunable band of about 14 nm or more, and the maximum RIN (Relative Intensity Noise) of about -124 dB/Hz, which showed the possibility of modulating 10 Gb/s signal by an external modulator.
A Software Component is a module that is reused among a lot of projects, systems, and companies rather than a single application. Components can be reused in various systems if they provide not only the common functionalities required in many applications but also the diverse aspects to be customized for being suitable for customers' demands. From the development phase, components should be designed and developed considering the variable aspects they have for convenient customization. Easily customized components can be frequently reused in lots of applications. In the literature, there are some modeling and customizing techniques. But they suggested only conceptual or basic methods based on Object-Oriented. And the practical instructions for reusing component were not provided sufficiently. Moreover, there are few techniques that consider the proper variability types components have. Thus, those techniques are not appropriate for applying to black box component completely developed and released. In this paper, we classify variabilities that components have in functional aspect into two categories. The one is logic variability, and the other is workflow variability. For each classified variability, we propose the three kind of modeling techniques, which are selection, plug in and externalization. Also detailed instructions for practical design and application are provided.
This study proposed a Variable Speed Limits(VSL) algorithm to use traffic information based on Cumulative Demand-Capacity Analysis and evaluated its performance. According to the analysis result, the total of delay consisted of 3 separate parts. There was no change in total travel time although the total of delay decreased. These effects was analysed theoretically and then, evaluated through VISSIM, a microscopic simulator. VISSIM simulation results show almost same as those of theoretical analysis. Furthermore in SSAM analysis with VISSIM simulation log, the number of high risk collisions decreased 36.0 %. However, the total delay decrease effect is not real meaning of decrease effect because the drivers' desired speed is same whether the VSL model is operated or not. Nevertheless this VSL model maintains free flow speed for longer and increases the cycle of traffic speed fluctuation. In other words, this is decrease of delay occurrence and scale. The decrease of speed gap between upstream and downstream stabilizes the traffic flow and leads decrease number of high risk collision. In conclusion, we can expect increase of safety through total delay minimization according to this VSL model.
This research aims to develop various infill-systems for practically applying to long-life housing with 100-year durability and flexibility as a strategy for realizing sustainable residential environment. Especially, the developed infill-systems & technologies were concentrated to the mock-up house applied with the standard model of long-life housing, and their in-situ applicability by a phase, experts' consultation, and questionnaire survey were also evaluated. This research was executed to divide by 3 phases. In the First phase infill-systems for a housing unit of $84m^2$ exclusive use area as well as a support of whole structure and infill-systems including dry wall, and windows were constructed, and their in-situ applicability were evaluated. In the Second phase vertical integration of upper and lower housing units of $50m^2$ and $40m^2$ exclusive use area was investigated the first in domestic for 3 housing units of $50m^2$ exclusive use area. In addition, various infill-systems including the horizontal expansion of $50m^2$ and $10m^2$ exclusive use areas were also constructed and evaluated on their in-situ applicability. In the third phase diverse performance tests and field investigation for in-situ verifying of dry Ondol, developed this research, were executed to improve their practicability. Inner dry walls were taken apart, moved and re-constructed for verifying their practicability to investigate 3R-Reduce, Reuse and Recycle-realization too.

In push out scheme, high priority cell which arrives when the buffer is full pushs low priority cell. The PBS scheme provides priority by variable threshold in buffer. In this paper, for Controlling congestion in ATM network we propose buffer processing method in which the PBS scheme has variable threshold. And we analysis The performance of this scheme. As a result of simulation, the proposed push out scheme with variable threshold reduces the loss of low priority cell compared with existing push out scheme. This proposed method not only reduces the loss of high priority cell like existing push out scheme but also reduces the loss of low priority cell by variable threshold.

In this paper, a high power tuneable resonator for a wireless power transfer system based on magnetic resonance is proposed. A spiral structure is used for a self-resonant coil and tuneable trimmer capacitors are added at the edges of resonant coils such that the frequency can be easily tuned. 3D simulation tools and equivalent circuit modeling method are used for predicting self-resonant frequency and scattering parameters according to the change of capacitor values. From the measurement of the prototype WPT system, the resonant frequency could be controlled from 3.0 MHz to 4.5 MHz and the transmission efficiency way over 50 % when the distance between transmitting coil and receiving coil was 160 mm.
An unsteady flow model is developed that allows variable roughness coefficient for each computational point according to its spatial position and the discharge. A step function or a power function can be used for functional relation between the discharge and the Manning's roughness coefficient. The model is applied to the reach of the South Han River between the Chungju Dam and Paldang Dam, and model parameters are estimated by optimization. Estimated parameters of both the step function model and the Power function model show that Manning's roughness coefficient decreases as the discharge increases. This tendency is more noticeable for the upstream reach of Yeoju compared to the downstream reach. It turns out that the stages calculated by the variable roughness coefficient model agree better with the observed ones than those by the conventional fixed parameter model.

The varying coefficient regression model has gained lots of attention since it is capable to model dynamic changes of regression coefficients in many regression problems of science. In this paper we propose a varying coefficient regression model that effectively considers the errors on both input and response variables, which utilizes the kernel method in estimating the varying coefficient which is the unknown nonlinear function of smoothing variables. We provide a generalized cross validation method for choosing the hyper-parameters which affect the performance of the proposed model. The proposed method is evaluated through numerical studies.
