Method: The subjects were 22 female students with dysmenorrhea, 12 experimental group, 10 control group, studying at K university in Chungnam province. The data were collected through questionnaires from September 1st to November 30th 2003 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$-test, Fisher's exact test and Mann-Whitney test. Result: 1. The menstrual pain scores were significantly different between the two groups(U=16.0, p=.001). 2. The menstrual symptom scores were significantly different between the two groups(U=28.5, p=.038). Conclusion: These findings showed that Koryo-Sooji-Chim was effective related to menstrual pain and menstrual symptoms of female university students with dysmenorrhea. Koryo-Sooji-Chim during dysmenorrhea could be applied as an effective nursing intervention.

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the differences in the degree of premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea, and stress according to the gender role identity of female university students. Methods: Data were collected by self-reported questionnaires from 308 female university students. Data analysis was done with SPSS 10.1 for descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple-range test. Results: The most prevalent type of premenstrual syndrome was androgenic(33.8%), followed by undifferentiated(25.0%). There was a significant difference in dysmenorrhea according to residence. In addition, there were significant differences in premenstrual syndrome according to age, and in stress according to age and economic status. Also, there was no significant difference according to dysmenorrhea and there were significant differences in premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea according to gender role identity. Premenstrual syndrome and stress were the most prevalence in female type, but the lowest severe in masculine type. Conclusion: The study variables can be influencing factors in the gender role identity of female university students. Also, the findings can provide the basis for the development of nursing interventions to establish the gender role identity of female university students.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of aromatherapy on dysmenorrhea, menstrual pain, anxiety, and depression in female college students. Methods: A two-group cross-over design was used. The sample included a total of 20 female students who were enrolled in a 3 year nursing program. The treatments(aroma essential oil inhalation and the placebo inhalation) were given using a necklace. The data were analyzed by $x^2$-test, paired t-test, and Mann-Whitney test using SPSS/WIN 12.0 program. Results: The level of dysmenorrhea after the aroma treatment was not significantly different from the dysmenorrhea levels at pre-test and after the post-placebo treatment. The menstrual pain, anxiety and depression significantly improved after the aroma treatment. However, the levels of pain, anxiety, and depression after the aroma treatment were not significantly different from those after the placebo treatment. Conclusion: Aroma inhalation may be a effective in managing menstrual pain, anxiety, and depression. In order to further clarify the effect of aroma treatment on discomfort during menstruation, replication studies are necessary. Future studies need to examine the effects of different types of essential oils, administrating methods, and the lasting time of aroma treatment effect.

이들을 대상으로 한 돌연변이 탐색은 PCR-RFLP(polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment polymorphism) 방법으로 수행되었다.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting clinical competence on early stage nurse working in a general hospital. Data were collected by questionnaires on early stage nurses from september 11 to september 30, 2020. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis, using SPSS WIN program. The degree of dysmenorrhea was 2.77 points, clinical competence was 3.44 points. Dysmenorrhea was negative correlated with clinical competence(r=-.226, p=.002). Response of autonomic nervous system was identified as factors influencing clinical competence(𝛽=-.261, p= .001). The model explained 22.1% of the variables. These results suggest that we need intervention education program for response of autonomic nervous system in order to improve the clinical competence of early stage nurses.

Method: The survey was conducted with 453 students at 4 nursing school in Seoul, Incheon, Chungcheongbuk and Jeollabuk Province. Data were collected from September to December 2013, and analyzed with SPSS Windows 21.0. Results: In a final model of hierarchial multiple regression, menarcheal age (${\beta}$=-0.13, p=.003), menstrual amount (${\beta}$=0.17, p=.001), stress (${\beta}$=0.18, p=.010) habit of sitting by crossing one's legs (${\beta}$=0.14, p=.003) were associated with dysmenorrhea in undergraduate students. These factors attributed to 12.0% of variance in the dysmenorrhea of undergraduate students. Conclusion: These results suggest that dysmenorrhea in undergraduate student could be influenced by habit of sitting by crossing one's legs as well as menstrual history and stress. Ultimately, intervention program including correct of cross-legged sitting postures can be effective for undergraduate students to alleviate dysmenorrhea.

  • Pulmonary endomertiosis is a rare disorder with the typical symptom of hemoptysis during menstruation (catamenial hemoptysis). We report a case of a 19-year-old woman, gravida 0, with 3-month history of catamenial hemoptysis which was confirmed with chest computed tomography. She was treated by means of thoracoscopic wedge resection for the right lesion and fuperior segmental resection through the left thoracotomy, successively. Preoperative fluoroscopy-guided hooking for thoracosopic target lwsion was helpful in circumstances with one lung anesthesia. Four months of follow-up after an uneventful discharge revealed out no recurrence of catamenial hemoptysis in symptoms and images.

  • Swyer syndrome is a rare form of primary amenorrhea resulting from gonadal dysgenesis. It is characterized by the presence of a female phenotype with a 46, XY karyotype. In our case, CT scans revealed the absence of the uterus and bilateral ovaries of the 16-year-old female patient. Calcific nodules were found in both inguinal areas, which were suspected to be calcified atrophic testes. A chromosomal study confirmed the diagnosis of Swyer syndrome. Herein, we report a rare case of Swyer syndrome.
