Analysis of Knowledge, Attitude, and Educational Needs toward Dementia in University Student (대학생의 치매에 대한 지식, 태도 및 교육요구도 분석)

  • This study is the descriptive survey to understand the knowledge, attitude, and education needs of the university students on the dementia and to examine their relationships. Collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients with the SPSS 20.0 for Windows Program. The rate of corrective answers on dementia was shown as 79.6%, mean attitude with 3.74 points, and mean education needs with 4.02 points. Significant positive correlations were detected between the knowledge and the attitude (r=.23, p=.005), and between the attitude and education needs (r=.61, p<.001). Based on the results of this study, it is required to make an effort to enhance the correct knowledge of the university students on dementia and to establish their positive attitude. The objective education needs proven by this study are expected to be used as the fundamental data for the development of customized education program for the university students.

Status of Adverse Events Received by Korea Consumer Agency-Focusing on Harm Information from 2013 to 2017 (의료문제가 발생하여 한국소비자원에 접수된 안전사고의 현황: 2013-2017년 위해정보 중심)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the current situation of safety accident received by Korea Consumer Agency and to provide a basis for preparing measures to prevent safety accident. This study was a descriptive study that secondary analyzes 4934 safety accidents accident information received from Korea Consumer Agency from 2013 to 2017. In this study, safety accident occurred more frequently woman, between 50-59 years old, the cause of safety accident were adverse effect after medical procedure(42.4%), the place where safety accident occurred private hospital(28.6%), integumentary system(41.3%) where safety accident occurred, symptoms of safety accident caused other organ damage and pain(13.1%) occurred most frequently and characteristics of safety accident differed depending on place of safety accident. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested to established a surveillance system that can prevent safety accident in which medical problems occur.

A Convergence Study on Depression of Main Caregiver for Elderly in Korean Nursing Home (우리나라 요양시설 입소노인 주 돌봄자의 우울에 대한 융복합 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the depression of the main caregivers for the elderly in Korea by using a descriptive survey study. A total of two hundred eight participants who admitted at five nursing homes located in G city were analyzed using SPSS 25.0. There was a significant difference in depression according to general characteristics: higher level in extended family in family type. Participants showed significantly higher level of depression in cases of less than five years' hospitalization periods or Decision maker of elderly's hospitalization high level burden for expenses among caring related characteristics. They also had higher level of depression in cases of high level burden for expenses. less than 60 minute in commuting time, or non-satisfaction for nursing home service among caring related characteristics. Although we need more evidences through future studies, the findings from this study will be useful in the development of nursing intervention program for reducing the depression of the main caregivers for elderly population.

Factors Influencing Intent to Revisit of Health Screening Center Visitors (건강검진센터 이용자의 재이용 의도에 미치는 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing the intent to revisit among health screening center customers. The subjects were 195 customers of a health screening center. The intent to revisit was positively correlated with customer satisfaction and word-mouth communication. Multiple regressions showed that customer satisfaction and perceived health status explained 29% of the variance of the intent to revisit. In order to increase the intent to revisit, hospital and nursing managers should strive to improve customer satisfaction. In particular, strategies to arrange explanation of the result consultations, individual health management tailored to customers' needs, and customers-relationship management for continuing relations with the customer should be needed. In addition, it will be needed to expand the roles of nurses who are working in the health screening center from simple heath check or customer reception to active health education and continuous health screening plan after initial one.

Influence of Interpersonal Ability on College Life Adjustment in Freshman in Nursing College: Mediation Effect of Empathy Ability (간호대학 신입생의 대인관계 능력이 대학생활적응에 미치는 영향: 공감 능력의 매개효과)

  • This study is a descriptive research study aimed at confirming the mediating effect of empathy ability in the relationship between interpersonal ability and adjustment to college life for freshman in nursing college. The study subjects were 179 freshman from the nursing department of four universities. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from June 11 to June 18, 2018. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the interpersonal ability and empathy ability of the nursing college freshman were factors influencing the adjustment to college life, and that the empathy ability had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between the interpersonal ability and the adjustment to college life. These results suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply curriculum and extra-curricular programs that can enhance students' empathy ability as a way to improve the adjustment to college life in the freshman. Therefore, repeated studies including various variables related to college life adjustmente of freshmen in nursing colleges are needed in the future.

Influence of Proactivity in Problem Solving and System Thinking on Resilience of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 문제해결 적극성과 시스템 사고능력이 회복탄력성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was a descriptive study to determine whether proactivity in problem solving and system thinking are variables affecting the resilience of nursing students. The subjects of this study were 236 students and the data was collected from November 11 to 29, 2019. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, correlation and hierarchical regression analysis were used. As a result of the study, Proactivity in Problem Solving and system thinking were significantly correlated with resilience. Adaptation of nursing, proactivity in Problem Solving, and system thinking of nursing students were found to be factors affecting their resilience, and they explained resilience at 71.4%. Therefore, in order to strengthen the resilience of nursing students, it is necessary to run a curriculum that includes proactivity in problem solving and system thinking as core nursing competencies.

The Effect of Social Support and Mental Health on Resilience of Health Science College Students (보건계열 대학생의 사회적지지, 정신건강이 회복탄력성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of social support and mental health of health science college students on their resilience. 191 students enrolled in 3 health science colleges located in J Province were asked to answer structured questionaries, and the collected data was analyzed by T-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis with SPSS 24.0 software. The result of this study shows that social support has positive correlation to resilience, whereas mental health has statistically significant negative correlation to psychological resilience. Subfactor of social support that affect psychological resilience are material and repetitional support, and subfactor of mental health are anxiety and college life satisfaction, which is also a sociologic characteristic, with explanatory power of 48.9%. The study suggests the need to develop and apply measures to improve social support and mental health of health science college students to embolden their resilience.

  • This is a study to investigate the factors affecting the Self-control in COVID-19 non-face-to-face online learning participate and to present a strategy for effective program development. The subjects of this study were 105 participants of COVID-19 non-face-to-face online learning participate in J-do area and collected data by self-reported questionnaire. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were the explanatory power was 50.7% with self-control, self-regulation efficacy, self-confidence. As a result of the above, in order to improve the self-control of participants in Multiple disaster situations non-face-to-face online offline learning, it is necessary to develop a fundamental and continuous educational program that improves the self-regulation efficacy and confidence of learning participants.

An Analysis of Concepts related to Physical and Chemical Change on Middle and High School Science Textbooks (물리변화와 화학변화에 대한 중등학교 과학 교과서의 개념 분석)

  • This study examined the types of explanations related to physical change and chemical change in the science textbooks of middle and high school based on the prior study of science teachers' understanding. For this research, the researchers analyzed 44 textbooks of middle school science and high school chemistry. As a result, there were no explanation or property type explanation represented in most of the textbooks related to physical and chemical change concepts. Also, there are few relationship represented between physical change and chemical change, and the examples related to physical change and chemical change were confused. These representations of textbooks can give rise to confusion of understanding of teachers and learners. So, it needs to re-design the explanation types correctly and constantly in science textbooks related to physical change and chemical change.

The Effect of Social Support on Job Satisfaction and the Mediating Role of Burnout (사회적 지원이 직무만족에 미치는 영향: 소진의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effect of burnout on the relationship between social support and job satisfaction. Social support should be noted as an important environmental factor that can affect job satisfaction. This study surveyed 1,147 workers of domestic companies and collected data, and the results of the study are as follows. First, social support and job satisfaction were shown to have a positive correlation. Second, social support and burnout were found to have a negative correlation. Finally, burnout was found to play a mediating role in the relationship between social support and job satisfaction. This results demonstrate that, while social support has a direct positive impact on job satisfaction, it has also a indirect on job satisfaction via burnout. Therefore, organizations should consider ways to strengthen the organization's social support and lower the level of individual burnout in order to improve job satisfaction. Implications and limitations of this study and future research tasks are described.
