The standard metadata systems are very popular for the description of structures and semantics of information resources to realize sharing and exchanging information in global ubiquitous environment. In real application domain, various metadata elements are reused together with mix-and-match manner. An application system using diverse metadata systems is compelled with refinement and interoperability of metadata elements. Application profile is the general approach to resolve the various problems occurred in metadata application systems. This paper proposes Application Profile Core Ontology (APO) that can achieve the goals and functions of application profile, and describes metadata application system based on APO.

The purpose of this article is review about the use of ultrasonography in the evaluation of the elbow joint. Ultrasonography has several key advantages in elbow joint, including easy assessment of target structure in elbow joint and ability to perform real time dynamic examination and to compare with opposite site. Ultrasonography is easy available to visualize abnormalities affecting tendons, muscles, ligaments, bursae, and occult fractures around the elbow joint and also allows accurate assessment of ulnar nerve in cubital tunnel. The role of ultrasonography will increase further with regards to evaluation of soft-tissue abnormalities of the elbow joint.

An appropriate lighting standard for the museum is needed to minimize the deterioration of the exhibits by the light and to increase the ease of perception of visitors. To make the standard, museum lighting recommendations of several countries were analyzed. Using measured color change characteristics of Korean traditional artifacts, illuminance-hours for the artifacts with noticeable color change were calculated for various light sources, and the artifacts were classified into ISO levels. Considerations for making lighting standard and the proceedings to make a decision for the considerations were described. Finally, lighting standard which can be applicable to Korean museum was presented.

Generally, high frequency switching DC-DC converter that DC power supply for discharge lamp drive to generate ultraviolet rays(UV) is acted by hard switching mode is used. Therefore in this paper, wish to mix first existent first-side status phase shift PWM DC-DC converter and posing secondary-side status phase shift PWM DC-DC converter by high frequency link DC-DC converter that use soft switching circuit technology and develop DC power supply for discharge lamp drive. DC power supply driving Discharge lamp proposed describe validity through simulation and an experiment.

As the seriousness of the global environment is gaining increasing our attention recently, studies on application of LCA(Life Cycle Assesment) to ship are being carried dynamically in various industry fields. This study examined general outline about local and international application cf LCA to ship. First of all, international background for the appearance of LCA and its general meaning are introduced. The state-of-the-art for its application to ship will be also explained. Finally, domestic study methodology for application of LCA to ship were suggested.

The FIPA community is developing a range of agent-related standards, of which the centerpiece is an Agent Communication Language (ACL). This language includes a number of communicative acts explicitly intended to support negotiation. In this paper, we consider a multi-agent environment that exchanges the resources for achieving agents' goals, represent agents as computational logic-based formalizations, and describe a simple ACL for negotiation using logic-based agents. In particular, we introduce and compare some communication acts that enable counter-agents to know the reason of request(proposal) or the reason of rejection(refusal).

E-learning is the application of e-business technology and services to teaching and learning. It use of new multimedia technologies and Internet to improved the qualify of learning by facilitating access to remote resources and services. In this paper, we show a computer-based test system, which is carefully designed and implemented. The system consists of a contents delivery mechanism, computer-adaptive test algorithm, and review engine. In this papepr, we describe what are points to be considered when design and implementing a computer-based test system. In addition, this paper shows how to control the bias value for computer-adaptive algorithm using real data.

This paper attempts to construct a storytelling model of computer games by using the Greimas's schema of narrative. Analysis target is multi-play of Starcraft, which has the non-linearity and interactivity. As a result, the process of manipulation and sanction, occurred in epistemological level at very short time and the process of competence had lots of small schema of narratives and repeated that small narratives. This model may be applied to other games, because it looks that most of games have very short process of manipulation and sanction at epistemological level and have long process of competence as main game play.

This study investigated effect of media lieteracy and self-esteem on sexual permissiveness among high school student in order to develop a sex education program. The participants were 639 high school students from Seoul, Kyeonggi, and Incheon in Korea. According to the regression analysis, sexual permissiveness was explained by sex, economic status, SML1, SE family. The results suggested that it is important to develop a sex education program that focuses on enhancing media literacy and family-related self-esteem to raise the right sex attitude of adolescents.

As size of ontology has been increased more and more, the descriptions in the ontologies become more complicated, Therefore finding and modifying unsatisfiable concepts is hard work in ontology construction process, Minerva is an ontology reasoner which detects unsatisfiable concepts automatically and infers subsumption relation between concepts in ontology, Most description logic based ontology reasoners (including Minerva) work using tableaux algorithm, Because tableaux algorithm is very costly, ontology reasoners need various optimization methods, In this paper, we propose optimizing methods to reduce execution time of tableaux algorithm based ontology reasoner. Proposed methods were applied to Minerva which was developed as preceding study result. In consequence the new version Minerva shows high performance.
