The characters' voices in the movie, Rashomon mean the absence of memories created by self-consciousness in order to avoid the crisis. The varying statements of the characters and the three spaces: the space of Nakanimon (th e ruins), the representation space as polyphony (the forest), the egoistic space of truth (the guardian), show the social ills of doubtfulness and mistrust among the Japanese at that time due to the defeat from the war. This matches with the polyphony theory of Mr. Bakhtin, a Russian cultural critic. The key concept of polyphony theory is that the voices that do not accord each other are not harmonized but each voice builds their own world and participates in the novel without being influenced by the creator. This study's aim is to discuss two aspects; Bakhtin's polypony theory allows polyphony film s to function as cinematic composition and spatial characteristics of polyphony films in the movie, Rashomon.

The social network services have spread rapidly with new issues in terms of the security. The purpose of this study is to longitudinally verify the influence of relationships among online security, social network service, and smartphone expense. The analyses were conducted on panel data of SNS users from 2015 to 2017 based on the SEM methodologies. The results indicated that anxiety of online security had an effect on the SNS usage. In addition, The results showed that anxiety of online security and SNS usage had a significant influence on the smartphone expenses. This study could provide useful guidelines for researchers and company managers, and an opportunity to develop an understanding of social network trends.

The purpose of this study is to compare a supposedly "pot boiler", Sanctuary and Sanctuary: The Original Text and examine the fact that Horace Benbow in The Original Text is a more complicated and many-sided character who has suppressed desire, Oedipus complex, sense of guilt for a long time, until he came to confront Temple-Popeye case. Since literary narration means unconscious procedure, Horace's incestuous love for his step daughter and Oedipal relation reveals Faulkner's own psychology. In this sense, The Original Text serves as a matrix of many of Faulkner's major novels in terms of themes, characters, and the relationship between past and present. Among these novels are The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, and Flags in the Dust. Faulkner, while writing about his own world creating Yoknapatawpha County, tries to portray characters with artistic value through whom he wanted to express the deep anxiety and turmoil of the 1920s. Starting with Horace Benbow, Quentin Compson, Darl Bundren and young Bayard Sartoris can be doubling through his major works, conveying author's profound despair in the context of modern world.

The purpose of this study is to comprehend the retired elderly person's experience of library using the narrative inquiry method proposed by Clandinin and Cornelly. I intended to grasp the details of the several changes that library use brings to the lives. It was also to examine the meanings of the experiences for their lives. For this purpose, three elderly retirees using public libraries in Seoul were selected as research participants. I interviewed their experiences and constructed field text from interview. Based on the field text, the story of the participants was reconstructed into research text which is form of novels, essays, and letters. Their experience in using libraries was interpreted as a source of regular life, fun and vitality, a treasure house for dreaming new life, a source of consolation to endure old age. And I found some common points within their narrative that they seek for a healthy life through reading books. The results of this study are expected to be useful for expanding the understanding of the public library's elderly users and to be used as basic data for service improvement.

This study started from an interest in the unique history and literature of Okinawa and Jeju Islands. The Battle of Okinawa at a late stage of the Asia-Pacific theatre of World War II, and the indiscriminate violence in the 4.3 Jeju Massacre directly show the shared tragedy of the two islands; furthermore, they are are both located on the frontier of a nation's authority, and thus are symbolic cases. This thesis analyzes Oshiro Tatsuhiro's Island of the Gods and Hyun, Ki Young's Sooni's Uncle, both directly deal with the tragedy of two different but analogous incidents, and question the difference in memory struggle and definitions. Thus, though both novels show a similarity in focusing on and exposing the forbidden memory of mass suicide and massacre, the methods of suggesting the course of memory struggle are different. For example, in contrast to Hyun who took a different approach from the fury, accusations, and violence of South Korea to espoused forgiveness and reconciliation, Oshiro showed the changes in the form of responding to the mainland Japan.

The contemporary incidents, in which hatred toward the socially disadvantaged is the cause, are constantly evoking archivists' social role and responsibility. This study notes the documentation strategy as a way to document contemporary incidents involving the socially disadvantaged as the main actors. The purpose of this study is to propose the documentation strategy for documenting contemporary incidents around the L Comics issue. As a theoretical study, it examines the concept and significance of contemporary incidents documenting and documentation strategies. Through an analysis of the issue's overview, features, key events, and focus groups, the context of the issue was identified, and relevant online records were investigated. In addition, through interviews with stakeholders and experts, opinions on the documentation strategy of the L Comics issue were collected. In conclusion, the study discusses the objectives, direction, principle, category, subject and considerations for documenting the issue, and proposes the documentation strategy for it.

Creative works such as webtoon and web novel are part of property rights. However, illegal copies of them are distributed on the internet easily, which raises social issues in today's society. In order to tackle these problems, this paper proposes and presents a blockchain based copyright management system that ensures forgery prevention, robust security features, improving trading performance, cost-effective, and enhanced visibility. The system allows a user to register creative works formally just the same as before registration and also to register simple creative ideas just anytime. In the latter case, if an idea or a thought flashes across through somebody's mind, he or she can register it to the system immediately without formal registration process and afterward, can utilize a way to prove its originality through the system. Regarding large size images and video files of creative works, the system reduces data size and storage volume sharply to be processed by network entities by storing original creative works separately and including only the hash result of creative works to the transactions.

This paper is a study of the film A Deaf, Sam-ryong by Na Un-kyoo released in 1929 at Choseon theater. This study compared the partial scenes of the currently remaining A Deaf, Sam-ryong with related scenarios and original works, after the restructuring of the structure of A Deaf, Sam-ryong and was written for the purpose of reviewing it. The film A Deaf, Sam-ryong is based on Na Dohyang's novel A Deaf, Sam-ryong. However, in the process of adaptation, it was a work that strongly reflected the intention of Na Un-kyoo as a scenario writer. The study of these intentions has to reorganize the remaining scenes at present and rely on research methods to compare them with related scenarios or original works. Even if a situation that makes it difficult to draw clear conclusions is drawn in this research process, we can not but dismiss the method of this research itself if we can not stop the purpose of restoring the loss of Korean cinema. As a result, this study is devised to carry out this study, which had been discontinued due to the lack of work and related data so far.

Through the experimental narrative construction by authorial divinity, Muriel Spark's novels and films based on her fiction show the difficulty of living like a human being under various inhumane and manipulative circumstances of the modern capitalistic society. By adopting flash-forward, self-reflection, and deceptive omnipotent viewpoints, her work has surprisingly predicted the post-modern trend in which humans are increasingly attracted and interpellated to the digitalized media. Muriel Spark called the recent anesthetic situation by stimulation "a driver's seat" because it is a symbol of how humans should act to maintain the critical subject. Emphasizing the value of self-reflection, religion and morality in the mechanized society, Muriel Spark stressed literature should play the role of helmsman who sails safely in the rough sea. In Muriel Spark's works, God is often synonymous with writers. As a Jewish immigrant she experienced alienation in Scotland, marital violence, prejudices of the London-based publishing world, Nazism, and Watergate. For her, the harsh reality of the modern society needs to be guided and complemented by something beyond human control. But rather than relying entirely on traditional Catholic doctrines such as Graham Greene and Evelyn Waugh, Muriel Spark has taken a personal, religious view of literature and insists that the genuine writer must play God's play. Seeking for the speculative vision for the future of human life in God's plan, she tries to understand the complex twisted motives of human beings which are often far from the ideal form. Simply put, her search of self-reflection, religion and ethics is modeled on the God's plan for the ideal human being who is supposed as the writer with the transfigurative imagination of the trinity.

The main purpose of this essay is to suggest that Faulkner's "pro"-lynching letter published in Commercial-Appeal in 1931 does not contradict his antilynching works such as "Dry September," Light in August, Go Down, Moses, and Intruder in the Dust. In the letter, Faulkner writes, "they [lynching mobs] have a way of being right." The remark has been interpreted as the expression of Faulkner's sympathetic attitude toward lynching mobs; however, it can be also seen as Faulkner's observation and criticism of the southern white people's structures of feeling in his time that stubbornly justified lynching as a way to do justice to black people who did "not" deserve to be a legal subject. This essay argues that Faulkner understood that the legislation of anti-lynching law alone could not save black people from the violence of lynching as far as white people believed that black people were not their equals and that lynching was a right means to fulfill social justice. Faulkner's fictions such as Light in August and Go Down, Moses provide moments in which white male characters feel as if they were social others, and their experiences work as an ethical urge for them to stand up for social others. This essay illuminates how Faulkner depicts the process of white male characters' identity formation as a violent break from his strong tie with black friends, how they reverse the process to blur the border again through the experiences of becoming-other, and how the experience of becoming-other has a potentiality to play the role of an ethical agency in stopping the custom of lynching in the South.
