남 .여 대학생의 "~답다"에 대한 성 역할 지각에 관한 연구 -두발, 신발, 장신구를 중심으로- (A Study of the Sex-role Perceptions Reflected upon the Term “Be Like ∼”)

  • This study defines attributes of the Korean costume culture, focussed on hair, shoes and accessories which express sex-roles, encapsulated in the term, “be like...”. A group of 362 male and female university students from Seoul and Gyeonggi area was surveyed for the study. The statistical analysis of SPSS 10.0 was applied for analyzing the data, and the significant variances were reviewed by the basic statistics and t-test. The results are as follows; First, short hair is perceived as the typical hair style that symbolizes male, both from male and female university students. Hair colors in warm color such as brown, wine, purple, lemon and orange, and the style of hair such as bobbed, long, and perm are perceived as definite clues that symbolized female. Second, when it concerns the types of shoes, both male and female university students cited oxford as the typical clue that symbolizes male, whereas pumps and sandal were cited for female. Third, in terms of types of accessories, both male and female university students perceived necklace, earring, bracelet, hair pin and band, scarf, and muffler as very feminine. Among these, hair pin and band, and scarf are evaluated as the typical clues that signify the role of females. Necktie is perceived as the typical clue that signify male role.

  • 성에 따른 역할 분화는 사회적 행동의 가장 보편적인 결정적 요소이다. 모든 사회는 남성과 여성에게 서로 다른 의무와 기대를 부여한다. 이러한 의미 부여에 대한 구체적인 제한들은 문화에 의해 결정된다. 문화에 의해 결정된 성 역할은 그 사회 구성인으로서 적합한 복식 형태를 요구하거나 적어도 제안하게 된다. 현대의 복식은 자기중심적인 주장이 강하기 때문에, 남과 다르게 개성적으로 의복을 소화해내느냐에 초점이 맞추어져 있다. (중략)

  • In our culture, the term, "be like", is frequently used. There are expressions such as "feminine-looking dress" and "manly style" relating to this term when we describe the styles of clothing. This study addresses the question on which type of garment would be selected under the description of the term, "be-like", in relation to gender. This term reveals the preconception of gender as being feminine or masculine according to the styles and colors of clothes. A group of 362 college students from Seoul and Gyeonggi area was surveyed fur the study The statistical analysis of SPSS 10.0 was applied f3r analyzing the data, and the significant variances were reviewed by the basic statistics, multi-variate and T-test. The results are as follows: First, the details of clothes imply the preconceived idea of gender. As a result, women's blouses and skirts were selected as the most feminine upper and bottom garments. The Y-shirt and T-shirt were selected as the most masculine upper garments. However, in contrast to the . skirts being the most feminine bottom wear, the pants were not significantly recognized as the most masculine ,clothes. Second, the variances of the survey show that the female students are more conscious of the sexual identity expressed in clothes than the male students. Third, the styles of clothes reflect the general understanding of what is considered to be "feminine or not feminine" and "masculine or not masculine" In conclusion, this study has discovered that the certain characteristics of gender are predominantly implicated in the styles length, and color of clothes. Both men and women responded differently in defining their idea of "femininity" and "masculinity". Nevertheless, there still exists strong preconception of what is considered to be feminine or masculine, and it affects the choices people make in selecting clothes.

남ㆍ여 대학생의 두발, 신발, 장신구의 고정관념에 대한 연구 -선생님과 학생역할을 중심으로- (A Study on the Stereotype of Hair Style, Shoes and Ornaments Manifested by University Student)

  • This study examines how the stereotype in a society toward the roles of teachers and students affects their hair styles and ornaments and defines it through the cultural tag, 'like'. A survey of 362 male and female students in colleges located in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas was conducted. The data analysis was done by SPSS 10.0 and the difference of sample means between the groups in addition to basic statistics was evaluated. The t-test was made to test statistically significant difference between the groups. The results of the analysis are summarized as follows: First, the hair styles, shoes and ornaments that are recognized as appropriate for the roles of male students are short cut and black hair, sneakers and necktie. In that case of female students, medium and long hair style, black and brown hair, Loafer, hairpin and hairband are recognized properly. The hair styles, shoes and ornaments that are recognized as appropriate for the roles of male teachers are short cut and black hair, oxfords and necktie. In that case of female teachers, cut, medium, long, permanent and up style, 1)lack and brown hair, pumps, necklace, ring, earring, bracelet, hairpin, hairband, scarf and muffler are recognized appropriately. Second, the stereotype of male students and teachers's roles was more traditional, normative, and limited than that of female students and teachers's. The role of female teachers showed more generous than that of male students, female students, and male teachers.

직업 역할에 따른 의복의 고정관념 연구 -선생님과 학생을 중심으로- (A Study on the Stereotype of Clothing Manifested by Professional Role)

  • This research examines the attributes of the Korean costume culture inherent in the expression of "-like" by focusing on the professional roles implied in the style of clothes. Based on a random sampling, the sample was comprised of 315 male and female college students who reside in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. The results were as followed: 1. Subjects preferred the blouse as the most "female student-like" upper wear. The female students recognized the Y-shirts as the "male teacher-like" upper wear while the male picked the Y-shirts for this category. For the "student-like" sleeve length, the female selected the cap sleeves and the three-quarter sleeves for the female and selected the short sleeves for the male. Subjects preferred the Peter Pan and the sailor collars for the "female student-like" category and selected the shirt collars as the most "male teacher-like" and "male student-like" style. 2 Subjects perceived the A-line and the flared skirts as the "female student-like" dresses. For the lengths of skirts, subjects agreed that the above-knee. the below-knee and the midi length were all proper for female teachers. For the length of pants, subjects selected the 9/10 as the most "female teacher-like" style. 3. Subjects selected black, white, light purple and beige as the preferred colors for female teachers. Subjects chose white and yellow as the most "female student-like" colors and picked the colors, navy blue, light blue and blue, as the "male-like" and "male teacher-like" colors.

톤 인 톤 배색과 톤 온 톤 배색의 감성 평가 (The sensibility evaluation of Tone in Tone combination and Tone on Tone combination)

  • 본 연구는 톤 인 톤 배색과 톤 온 톤 배색을 활용한 배색의 감성 효과에 관한 것이다. 톤 인 톤 배색 과 톤 온 톤 배색에 근거하여 제작한 24개 배색에 대하여 Osgood의 SD법(Semantic Differential Method)을 이용하여 10명 대학생에게 배색에 대한 인상 평가를 받았으며 자료 분석은 엑셀 통계 프로그램 2004를 사용하여 요인분석을 하였다. 연구결과, 톤 인 톤 배색에 근거한 배색과 톤 온 톤 배색에 근거한 배색의 인상이 매우 다르게 평가되는 것을 확인했다. 따라서 색채조화의 형식으로 제안되는 배색 기법이 배색의 감성 효과에 영향을 미칠 가능성을 확인하였다. 그리고 '좋다-싫다', '어린이답다-어른답다', '강하다-약하다', '따뜻하다-차갑다' 4개 이미지 차원이 도출되었으며 이러한 이미지에는 색상과 색조가 영향을 주는 요소로 작용한다는 것을 확인하였다. 제품의 사진배색과 거의 동일한 색종이 배색의 인상을 비교한 것으로 색표를 이용한 배색과 그 배색에 근거한 제품의 배색 인상에는 거의 차이가 없다는 것을 확인하였다. 그러나 제품이 가진 고유 특성이나 형태, 재질 등에 의해 인상이 크게 달라지는 것도 확인하였다. 이러한 연구 결과는 배색 이미지나 색채 디자인의 기초 자료로 활용 될 것이다.

  • 현대인들은 의식적 혹은 무의식적으로 많은 광고에 노출되고 있다. 이에 기업에서는 매력적인 모델을 광고에 사용함으로써 자사의 광고에 소비자들의 주목도를 높이려는 것이 일반적인 경향이다. 의류의 경우, 소비자는 주로 잡지, 신문, 카탈로그, TV 광고 등의 마케터 주도적 정보원을 통해 정보를 수집하는 것으로 나타나, 마케터가 제시하는 광고가 의류 소비자의 구매행동에 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 의류광고에 사용되는 모델이 소비자에 의해 의류광고에 적합하다고 판단되어지는 경로를 이론적으로 도출하고 이를 실증적으로 검증하였다. 그 결과, 모델의 매력도 차원에는 '관능성'과 '귀염성', 두 차원이 존재하며, 이 차원은 각각 다른 경로로 의류광고 적합도를 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 관능성은 '모델답다', '전형적인 모델이다'로 여겨지는 '모델 전형성'을 통해 의류광고 적합도를 향상시키며, 귀염성은 모델 전형성을 거치지 않고 의류광고 적합도에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 기업이 의류모델을 선정함에 있어 유의한 시사점을 제공한다.
