The congestion control methods of an integrated heterogeneous traffic multiplexer are studied. The real-time traffics have preemptive priority over nonreal-time traffics in capturing the common output link. Also real-time traffics are transmitted with bandwidth reduction when the nonreal-time traffics are over the buffer threshold. The proposed model formulated the system as a continous time Markov process and is analysed using matrix equation. Time delay and average number of used channel are applied for performance parameters. In this study, a new control method with the sizable buffer threshold is introduced and the optimal congestion control can be obtained.

We have designed a three-channel output multiplexer (OMUX) using a band-pass filter and an ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna. The proposed band-pass filter is composed of an inner rectangular loop, an outer open stub, and a defected ground structure. The outer open stub can be used to control the pass band, and the inner rectangular loop can improve the insertion loss characteristics of the band-pass filter. The proposed band-pass filter, UWB antenna, and OMUX are fabricated and measured. The designed OMUX can cover the band group 1 (3,168-4,752 MHz) of WiX system. The measured radiation patterns are close to those of a conventional dipole antenna and the measured antenna gain varies from 1.8 dBi to 3 dBi over the operating frequency range.

This paper considers the cell loss probability(CLP) in a multiplexer with the superposition of heterogeneous ON/OFF sources. The input traffic is composed of k classes. Traffic of class i is the superposition of M_(i) ON/OFF sources. Recently, the method based on the Markov modulated deterministic process(MMDP) is presented. Basically, it is the discretized model of stochastic fluid flow process(SFFP) and gives the CLP very fast, but under-estimates the CLP especially when the value of estimated CLP is very low. This paper develops the discretized model of Markov modulated Poisson process(MMPP). It is a special type of switched batch Bernoulli process(SBBP). Combining the transition probability matrix of MMDP and SBBP according to the state which is characterized by the arrival rate, this paper presents hybrid algorithm. The hybrid algorithm gives better estimate of CLP than that of MMDP and faster than SBBP.

This paper presents a 10Gbps CMOS parallel-to-serial converter for transmission of sensor data. A low-noise clock multiplying unit(CMU) and a multiplexer with controllable data sequence are proposed. The transmitter was fabricated in 0.13 um CMOS process and the measured total output jitter was less than 0.1 UIpp(unit-interval, peak-to-peak) over 20 kHz to 80 MHz bandwidth. The jitter of the CMU output only was measured as 0.2 ps,rms. The transmitter dissipates less than 200 mW from 1.5 V/2.5 V power supplies.

In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a novel channel-selectable multichannel optical add/drop multiplexer consisting of a sampled fiber grating and tunable fiber Bra99 gratings. The device adds and drops not only single channel, but also any predetermined multiple channels simultaneously with low interchannel crosstalk by wavelength tuning as small as 0.5 nm or less. The interchannel crosstalk better than 27㏈ has been shown experimentally.

링형 광 액세스망에서 능동형 광네트워크(AON: Active Optical Network)는 DWDM(Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing)을 이용하여 요구대역폭(BoD: Bandwidth on Demand)에 따라서 가입자에게 원활한 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 이를 위하여 기존의 광 기가비트 이더넷 스위치에서 다수개의 파장 및 서브캐리어(Sub-Carrier) 접속을 지원하며, 특정 파장을 분기하는 WADM (Wavelength Add Drop Multiplexer)과 링의 형태로 연결된다. WADM에서 분기된 특정 파장은 가입자단에 이르러 서브캐리어별로 역다중화 되어 가입자에게 분배되므로 가입자망의 분배가 시작되는 광 기가비트 이더넷 스위치와 가입자 단말 접속 장치간의 능동적인 연결이 가능한 구조를 가진다 본 논문에서는 이러한 AON 구조에서 BoD에 따라서 달라지는 버퍼의 크기를 비교 분석하고 또한 비트의 지체시간을 서버의 처리율과 비교 분석한다. 이러한 실험을 통하여 소요 시간의 한계를 결정함으로써 가입자에게 요구 대역폭에 따른 원활한 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 네트워크의 동적 운용 프로토콜 및 효율적인 알고리즘 구현을 위한 기준을 제시한다.

위성 중계기의 무게와 부피를 최소화 하기 위하여 출력 멀티플렉서는 매니폴드(manifold) 형태로 많이 설계한다. 매니폴드 형태의 출력 멀티플렉서의 정확한 성능을 구현하기 위해서는 이에 사용하는 각각의 채널 필터는 단일 종단으로 설계하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 필터의 전달 함수로부터 orthogonal projection 및 행렬의 평면회전(plane rotation)을 이용하여 6차 단일종단 이중모드 필터의 회로망 파라미터인 입출력 저항 및 결합 행렬을 구할 수 있는 합성 방법에 대하여 설명하였다. 특히 평면 회전 과정에서의 회전 행렬의 피벗 및 회전각을 제시하여 구현 가능한 결합 계수를 용이하게 얻을 수 있도록 하였다. 두 개의 서로 다른 구조를 갖는 필터에 대하여 동일한 전달 함수로부터 각각의 회로망 파라미터를 추출하였다. 본 논문에서 서술한 단일종단 필터의 회로망 파라미터 추출법은 다른 차수의 필터에도 적용이 가능하다.
