Although many studies have been conducted on risk analysis and evaluation in the on-premises environment in information security, studies on effective methodologies of risk analysis and evaluation for cloud computing systems are lacking. In 2015, the Cloud Computing Development Act was enacted, which served as an opportunity to promote the introduction of cloud computing. However, due to the increase in security incidents in the cloud computing system, activation is insufficient. In addition, the cloud computing system is not being actively introduced because of the difficulty in understanding the cloud computing system technology of the person in charge who intends to introduce the cloud computing system. In this regard, this study presented an effective risk analysis and evaluation method by examining the characteristics, concepts, and models of cloud computing systems and analyzing how these characteristics affect risk analysis and evaluation.
In this paper, we develop a new conceptual framework for finding new business opportunities in the cloud computing environment. We propose a service model framework for cloud computing business. In the service concept of the proposed business model, we categorize customer needs and service offering value, while we analyze customer behavior for developing revenue model. In addition, we analyze cloud computing market drivers for finding an evolution path of the proposed business model. Finally, we develop cloud computing business strategies for Korean IT service industry.
Recently, as the clouding computing begins to receive a great attention from people all over the world, it became the most popular buzz word in recent IT magazines or journal and heard it in many different services or different fields. However, a notion of the cloud service is defined vaguely compared to increasing attentions from others. Generally the cloud service could be understood as a specific service model base on the clouding computing, but the cloud, the cloud computing, the cloud computing service and cloud service, these four all terms are often used without any distinction of its notions and characteristics so that it's difficult to define the exact nature of the cloud service. To explore and analyze the cloud service systematically, an accurate conception and scope have to be preceded. Therefore this study is to firstly clarify its definition by Delpi method using expert group and then tries to provide the foundation needed to enable relative research such as establishing business model or value chain and policies for its activation to set off. For the Delpi, 16 experts participated in several surveys from different fields such industry, academy and research sector. As a result of the research, Characteristics of the Cloud Service are followings : Pay per use, Scalability, Internet centric Virtualization. And the scope as defined including Grid Computing, Utility Computing, Server Based Computing, Network Computing.

In Korea, "Act on the Development of Cloud Computing and Protection of its Users" has been enforced since September 28, 2015. Many countries implemented 'Cloud First' policies and global companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, IBM started cloud services in Korea. Under these circumstance, the Act was established for developing the cloud computing industry. The Act includes clauses for encouraging the use of private cloud computing by public organizations, supporting small- and medium-size cloud service providers, and utilizing secure cloud computing services by users. However, some terms appear to be similar but have different meanings from "Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc." and "Personal Information Protection Act". This generated some confusion and conflicts in relation to providing user information to a 3rd party and notifying the intrusion in the Cloud Computing Act. This paper discusses these issues and suggestions for revision of the Cloud Computing Act.

Given the numbers of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices shipped every day, more and more users are relying on the cloud as the main driver for satisfying their computing needs, whether it is data storage, applications or infrastructure. Mobile cloud computing is simply cloud computing in which at least some of the devices involved are mobile. Each node is owned by a different user and is likely to be mobile. Using mobile hardware for cloud computing has advantages over using traditional hardware. These advantage include computational access to multimedia and sensor data without the need for large network transfer, more efficient access to data stored on other mobile devices and distributed ownership and maintenance of hardware. It is important to predict job execution time in mobile cloud computing because there are many mobile nodes with different capabilities. This paper analyzes the job execution time for mobile cloud computing in terms of network environment and heterogeneous mobile nodes using a mathematical model.
Recently, artificial intelligence techniques have been widely used in the computer science field, such as the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, and mobile computing. In particular, resource management is of utmost importance for maintaining the quality of services, service-level agreements, and the availability of the system. In this paper, we review and analyze various ways to meet the requirements of cloud resource management based on artificial intelligence. We divide cloud resource management techniques based on artificial intelligence into three categories: fog computing systems, edge-cloud systems, and intelligent cloud computing systems. The aim of the paper is to propose an intelligent resource management scheme that manages mobile resources by monitoring devices' statuses and predicting their future stability based on one of the artificial intelligence techniques. We explore how our proposed resource management scheme can be extended to various cloud-based systems.

The recent growth in the use of mobile devices has contributed to increased computing and storage requirements. Cloud computing has been used over the past decade to cater to computational and storage needs over the internet. However, the use of various mobile applications like Augmented Reality (AR), M2M Communications, V2X Communications, and the Internet of Things (IoT) led to the emergence of mobile cloud computing (MCC). All data from mobile devices is offloaded and computed on the cloud, removing all limitations incorporated with mobile devices. However, delays induced by the location of data centers led to the birth of edge computing technologies. In this paper, we discuss one of the edge computing technologies, i.e., cloudlet. Cloudlet brings the cloud close to the end-user leading to reduced delay and response time. An algorithm is proposed for scheduling tasks on cloudlet by considering VM's load. Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm provides 12% and 29% improvement over EMACS and QRR while balancing the load.

The purpose of the research is to verify how task characteristics for business and technology characteristics, economic feasibility, technology readiness, organizational factors, environmental factors of cloud computing affect the performance of cloud computing adoption through Fit and Viability. The research aims to verify the relationship among the success factors for adopting cloud computing based on the Fit-Viability model. Respondents who work for IT companies which is using cloud computing in South Korea were chosen. The data was analyzed by the structural equating model. As a result, Task characteristics and Technology characteristics affected Fit in a positive manner, while Technology readiness, Organizational factors and Environmental factors also positively impacted Viability. Fit and Viability both affected the successful adoption of cloud equally. In particular, Environmental factors were proven to have the biggest impacts on Viability, and affected highly indirect impact on the Performance of cloud computing adoption through Viability. Entering the era of the fourth industrial revolution, corporations have established digital transformation strategies to secure a competitive edge while growing continuously, and are also carrying out various digital transformation initiatives. For the success of adoption of foundational technologies, they need to understand not only the decision-making factors of adopting cloud computing, but also the success factors of adopting cloud computing.
There is a growing interest for 'Cloud computing' to cut costs, and help the users focus on their core business instead of being impeded by IT obstacles. As it became IT version 3.0 which represents the era of cloud services and the dominance of a new kind of IT service provider, cloud service providers (CSPs)' role is more critical as a trusted IT advisor to include cloud migration and integration expertise. However, previous literatures related to cloud computing service have mainly analyzed from customers, although it is hard for customers to totally understand the complex and diverse cloud ecosystem. Therefore, it is an urgent task to mitigate the inhibitory factors in providing the cloud services for activating cloud industry. This study, an exploratory research based on interviews, has derived factors of promoting and hindering the activation of cloud computing from the provider's perspective, and has analyzed a sequence of cause and effect for each factor. For this, the casual loop diagram was developed to deduce key issues, and propose an alternative. The results of this study are expected to help activate 'Cloud computing' in Korea by minimizing the potential negative effects of activating 'Cloud computing' industry.

Mobile edge computing is a technology that can prepare for a new era of cloud computing and compensate for shortcomings by processing data near the edge of the network where data is generated rather than centralized data processing. It is possible to realize a low-latency/high-speed computing service by locating computing power to the edge and analyzing data, rather than in a data center far from computing and processing data. In this article, we develop a virtual mobile edge computing testbed environment where the cloud and edge nodes divide computing tasks from mobile terminals using the EdgeCloudSim simulator. Performance of offloading techniques for distribution of computing tasks from mobile terminals between the central cloud and mobile edge computing nodes is evaluated and analyzed under the virtual mobile edge computing environment. By providing a virtual mobile edge computing environment and offloading capabilities, we intend to provide prior knowledge to industry engineers for building mobile edge computing nodes that collaborate with the cloud.
