However, the body fat weight was no significantly on the effect of stretching exercise included health education (p=.991). Also, stretching exercise included health education, significantly effected on total self-reported symptoms (p=.001*) with joint pain, joint rigidity, fatigue, indigestion, elimination disorder, and sleep disturbance. However, indigestion (p=.129) was no significantly on the effect of stretching exercise included health education. Self efficacy of exercise (p=.000*) was significantly on the effect. As according to this results, physical health index (total Cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, triglyceride) and self-reported symptoms (joint pain, joint rigidity, fatigue, elimination disorder, and sleep disturbance) were reduced through stretching exercise included health education. Self efficacy was improved by this exercise program. Therefore, it is confirmed that stretching exercise included health education is an effective nursing intervention for physical, mental, and psychological health management in elderly. Accordingly, authors are proposing that variously effective health management exercise programs must be developed for elderly, at the same time, the application and following up on the programs will be more important in the future.

Methods: The survey was conducted from 526 female students in high school. Rome III criteria was used to diagnose IBS. Data of daily habits, health status, and health promoting behavior were collected through self-administered structured questionnaires. Results: The prevalence of IBS was 25.7%. Compared to the non-IBS, the IBS group scored significantly lower in exercise time, sleeping time, four dimensions of health status (physical, emotional, social, spiritual health) and management of relationship and stress in health promoting behavior. Risk factors influencing IBS were exercise time, physical health and emotional health status. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that nursing interventions and education programs are important to be developed, while considering exercise, health status and health promoting behaviors for female adolescents in order to manage their IBS.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the statistical indicators of OECD and Korea for student health among Korea's approval statistics. Methods: Searching for health indicators by using Health at a Glance 2009, Society at a Glance 2009, and Education at a Glance 2009 through the formal OECD web site in 2010, and investigating the approval statistics through the Korean formal organizational web sites and published data in 2012. Results: Among OECD indicators, indicators for adolescent health were smoking and alcohol consumption, nutrition, physical activity, overweight and obesity, bullying, risk behaviors, and poverty children. However, most of Korea student health indicators were missing except poverty children and life satisfaction, because OECD has taken chiefly data from Health Behavior in School-aged Children survey (HBSC), international study, which has not been carried out in Korea. The Ministry Of Education, Science And Technology (MEST) and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and National Youth Policy Institute in Korea have produced the major statistics for student health which was only 11 (1.3%) among 858 approval statistics. Conclusion: Identifying a current Korea school health is essential through participating actively to OECD whose statistic indicators are internationally comparable with Students Physical Development Survey, MEST's approval statistics, using Korea Student Health Examination. It was also suggested that quantitative and qualitative expansions for Korea student health statistics by the activation of approval statistics including processed statistics, and by researchers' easy expanded access to a raw data.

The temporal gait parameters and kinematic parameters is data of Parkinson' s Disease Patients. The results were as follows: (1) In patients' group, cadence, walking velocity were less than control group (p<.05). (2) In patients' group, maximum flexion of hip, maximum adduction of hip and maximum flexion of the knee were less than control group (p<.05). (3) In patients' group, maximum varus of the knee were more than control group (p<.05).

  • Tape measurement for evaluating edema is frequently used by clinicians. The primary purpose of this study is to determine the intertester and intratester reliability of tape measurement carried out by two physical therapists on lower extremities. The intertester and intratester reliability of six anatomical landmarks measurements were determined in six healthy subjects. The measurements were taken in five sessions by each tester. The intraclass correlation coefficients (2,1) were between .87 and .99 for intertester reliability. Intratester reliability was .93 and .99 for A tester and .82 and .99 for B tester. The average range of variation was .13 to .54 in six landmarks. The reliability of six volume measurements was very high. These results support the use tape measurement as a reliable tool for measuring limb girth.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of a chair backrest on respiratory function after prolonged sitting. Methods: Twenty-four young healthy subjects (12 males and 12 females) volunteered to participate in this study, and were equally allocated to a backrest (n=12) or a without backrest group (n=12). A spirometer was used to measure the respiratory functions of all subjects. Results: The chair with backrest group were significant difference in forced vital capacity (FVC), Forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), and peak expiratory flow (PEF) after sitting for 1 hour, compared with chair without backrest group (p<0.05). The chair with backrest group showed a significantly decreased in FVC, FEV1, and PEF. Conclusion: Using a chair without a backrest may help to reduce lung function deterioration as compared with a chair with a backrest.
