Recently, the design method by VHDL coding and synthesis has been used widely. As the integration ratio increases, the amount design by VHDL at a time also increases so many coding errors occur in a design. Thus, lots of time and effort is dissipated to detect those coding errors. This paper proposed a method to verify the coding errors in VHDL behavioral-level designs. As the methodology, we chose the method to detect the coding error by applying the generated set of verifying patterns and comparing the responses from the error-free case(gold unit) and the real design. Thus, we proposed an algorithm to generate the verifying pattern set for the coding errors. Verifying pattern generation is peformed for each code and the coding errors are classified as two kind: condition errors and assignment errors. To generate the patterns, VHDL design is first converted into the corresponding CDFG(Control & Data Flow Graph) and the necessary information is extracted by searching the paths in CDFG. Path searching method consists of forward searching and backward searching from the site where it is assumed that coding error occurred. The proposed algorithm was implemented with C-language. We have applied the proposed algorithm to several example VHDL behavioral-level designs. From the results, all the patterns for all the considered coding errors in each design could be generated and all the coding errors were detectable. For the time to generate the verifying patterns, all the considered designed took less than 1 [sec] of CPU time in Pentium-II 400MHz environments. Consequently, the verification method proposed in this paper is expected to reduce the time and effort to verify the VHDL behavioral-level designs very much.
Purpose: This study determined if anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL)/superior extensor ankle retinaculum (SEAR) thicknesses are related to dynamic balance in individuals with chronic ankle instability (CAI). Materials and Methods: The subjects were 14 males and 15 females (age=24.52±3.46 years). Ankle instability was assessed using the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT) with a cut off score of 25 to define two groups. SonoSite MTurbo (Fugifilm Sonosite, Inc.) musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) unit was used to assess ATFL and SEAR thicknesses. Dynamic balance was measured with the Y Balance Test (YBT) and two NeuroCom balance tests. Results: There were no significant differences in the average ATFL thickness between stable and unstable ankles in those subjects with CAI (0.25±0.03 cm and 0.21±0.05 cm, respectively) or in the SEAR thickness (0.09±0.04 cm and 0.10±0.03 cm, respectively). There were also no significant differences in the right and left ATFL thicknesses (0.23±0.07 cm and 0.21±0.04 cm, respectively) or the SEAR thicknesses (0.09±0.01 cm and 0.09±0.01 cm, respectively) in those without CAI. There were no differences between limbs in composite scores on YBT in those with CAI (p=0.35) and those without CAI (p=0.33). There was a moderate correlation between the left SEAR thickness and the large forward/backward perturbations on the NeuroCom (Natus) motor control test (r=0.51, p=0.006 and r=0.54, p=0.003, respectively). Conclusion: There were no differences in the ATFL/SEAR thicknesses or balance measures between or within the groups, likely because CAI is multi-factorial and related to mechanisms other than tissue changes alone. More sensitive technology and a better definition of the measurement process may provide more definitive results.
In recent, increasing of the impervious area gives rise to short concentration time and high peak discharge comparing with natural watershed and it is a cause of urban flood damage. Therefore, we have performed for structural and non-structural plans to reduce the damage from inundation. The Gulpo-cheon basin had been frequently inundated and damaged due to the water level of Han river. So, the Gulpo-cheon floodway was constructed with 20 meters width for flood control in the basin but it was not enough for our expectation and now we have a plan to expand the floodway to 80 meters. We use a XP-SWMM model developed based on EPA-SWMM version for analyzing the capacity of flood conveyance by the expansion of Gulpo-cheon floodway with the same 100 years return period design storm and the same tidal conditions of the Yellow sea. The flood conveyance after the expansion of floodway becomes three times comparing it with before the expansion. Also we simulate the flood discharge at the diversion point of Gulpo-cheon for the expanded condition of floodway and know that the discharge of about 300 m3/sec is flowing backward to the expanded floodway. Therefore we may need some kinds of hydraulic structures to prevent the back water.
This paper describes an EEG(electroencephalogram) software for two-channel cerebral function monitoring system to detect the cerebral ischemia. In the software, two-channel bipolar analog EEG signals are digitized and from the signals various EEG parameters are extracted and displayed on a monitor in real-time. Digitized EEG signal is transformed by FFT(Fast Fourier transform) and represented as CSA(compressed spectral array) and DSA(density spectral array). Additional 5 parameters, such as alpha ratio, percent delta, spectral edge frequency, total power, and difference in total power, are estimated using the FFT spectra. All of these are effectively merged in a monitor and displayed in real-time. Through animal experiments and clinical trials on men, the software is modified and enhanced. Since the software provides raw EEG, CSA, DSA, simultaneously with additional 5 parameters in a monitor, it is possible to observe patients multilaterally. For easy comparison of patient's status, reference patterns of CSA, DSA can be captured and displayed on top of the monitor. And user can mark events of surgical operation and patient's conditions on the software, this allow him jump to the points of events directly, when reviewing the recorded EEG file afterwards. Other functions, such as forward/backward jump, gain control, file management are equipped and these are operated by simple mouse click. Clinical tests in a university hospital show that the software responds accurately according to the conditions of patients and medical doctors can use the software easily.
Operational errors caused by human factors, which is the major cause of marine accidents, include lack of knowledge, misunderstanding knowledge, and inadequate procedures. Recently, the type of propulsion mounted on KCG cutters has been diversified. In particular, the water jet propulsion unit, which was mainly installed in small boats, have been gradually expanded to medium and large size Coast Guard cutters, reaching 50% of the total. Axes types are divided into 2 to 4, and the bucket types are divided into Double Reverse Bucket(DRB) and Single Reverse Bucket(SRB); in these, the backward and steering control methods are completely different. Diversification of these operating systems can increase factors causing human error by the ships' operators. However, there is a lack of research on the maneuvering methods, considering the inherent active characteristics of each type of water jet. In this paper, we analyze the sideway method suitable for the condition of Coast Guard Exclusive wharf without assistance, based on the astern performance of each type. Then, a ship handling simulator was used for the experiment; they compared and verified through interviews of captains.

Vertical facial growth triggers the rotation of mandible to move the chin point to the downward and backward direction, which showed remarkably effective result making the less prominent chin. Recently, the intraoral removable appliance utilizing class III elastic demonstrated the vertical growth trigger mechanism. The treatment change was very fast and wearing was quite easy, compared to extraoral appliances. The purpose of this study was to verify the duration of the treatment on class III malocclusion using intraoral removable appliances, which designed to accelerate vertical facial growth. 56 patients were selected with the complaint of the protruded mandible and class III malocclusion (overjet : -3 - 0 mm, overbite : 0 - 4 mm). Information like; age at start, duration of the treatment events, type of the treatment, overjet, overbite etc. was collected and calculated. The average age of the patients delivering the initial brace was $8.75{\pm}1.10year$. Most of the anterior crossbite was resolved within 6 months. The total treatment period was $21.79{\pm}10.73months$ with the additional procedures like the alignment of anterior teeth and torque control using additional removable and fixed orthodontic appliances. The correlation study showed that patient's cooperation (p = 0.000) and the use of fixed appliance (p = 0.032) were significantly influenced on treatment duration.

In this paper, a new type of electric wheelbarrow is proposed and developed. The developed electric wheelbarrow is equipped with an attitude reference system(ARS) sensor, which consists of 3-axis acceleration sensor and 2-axis Gyro sensor so that it can estimate pitch angle and roll angle. When an operator tilts the wheelbarrow up and down, the pitch angle is detected. The sign of the pitch angle is interpreted as the operator's intention for moving the wheelbarrow forward or backward and the controller drives the wheel of the wheelbarrow with the velocity according to the magnitude of the detected pitch angle. A cargo box of the wheelbarrow is designed to rotate and is controlled to maintain level always, so an operator can handle the electric wheelbarrow easily and safely. The wheelbarrow consists of an in-wheel motor, a DC motor, motor drives, an ARS sensor considering economical use in industrial field. Three experiments are performed to verify the feasibility and stability of the electric wheelbarrow.

There is a limit to the current indoor air quality (IAQ) monitoring method using fixed sensors and devices. A mobile robot for IAQ monitoring was developed by mounting IAQ monitoring sensors on a small multi-legged robot to minimize vibration and protect the sensors from vibration while robot moves. The developed mobile robot used a simple gait mechanism to enable the robot to move forward, backward, and turns only with the combination of forward and reverse rotation of the two DC motors. Due to the simple gait mechanism, not only IAQ data measurements but also gait motion control were processed using a single Arduino board. Because the mobile robot has small number of electronic components and low power consumption, a relatively low-capacity battery was mounted on the robot to reduce the weight of the battery. The weight of mobile robot is 1.4kg including links, various IAQ sensors, motors, and battery. The gait and turning speed of the mobile robot was measured at 3.75 cm/sec and 14.13 rad/sec. The maximum height where the robot leg could reach was 33 mm, but the mobile robot was able to overcome the bumps up to 24 mm.

This study examines an effective operational plan of a maritime safety enforcement task that is distributed in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Korea Coast Guard for maritime safety. Considering the sinking of the MV Sewol and Seohae vessels and the MV Hebei Spirit oil spill, normally marine safety accidents tend to not only damage human life, property, and marine environment but can also expand to disasters; therefore, precautionary measures are required. However, the Korean government takes superficial efforts in case of large-scale accidents. In case of the MV Sewol ferry, the government only focused on punishing the officials involved as a follow up and never mentioned any effective plan, such as "unification of maritime safety enforcement," in contrast to an advanced country. As a result, there are endless major and minor backward accidents. The probability of large-scale maritime accidents and backwardness accidents is increasing owing to vessels becoming large sized, high speed, and aged; sailors being unqualified; port traffic increase, development of marine leisure; and inefficiency dual marine safety systems. Therefore, based on the review of previous studies related to maritime safety, major advanced country's cases, and unified case of the vessel traffic service, this study suggests effective methods such as coastal vessel safety management, port state control and aid to navigation management, which are directly connected with maritime safety.
This article introduces Abe Mituie's activities related to Korean and Japanese Buddhism and two newly discovered materials. He worked as a brain of Japanese cultural rule over Joseon Korea while holding various positions such as the president of KyeongSung Il Bo, the vice president of Kokmin Newspaper and the director of Central Joseon Association. Abe was responsible for Enkak Temple, the head temple of Japanese Rinzai section, and was one of the layman followers of Syak Soen who worked for the spread of modern Japanese Buddhism to Europe and America. He was a respectful Buddhist layman so as to teach Zen Buddhism for young Buddhist monks in Japan. After he started to assume charge in the Kyeong Sung Il Bo, he was also very active in movements in relation to Joseon Buddhism to the extent that he was found to be deeply involved in Joseon Buddhism sections. On the other hand, he concluded Joseon culture to be 'devastated.' He asserted that it was necessary to develop spiritual culture and revive Buddhism in order to resolve the devastation in the Joseon. In addition, he thought that Joseon Buddhism was ruined due to the misgovernment of the Joseon Dynasty, but had its own as great tradition as Japanese Buddhism. Therefore, in his opinion, there was a need to do research on Joseon Buddhism and find some way out of the contemporary difficulties. In order to save the situation, he made efforts to protect and revive Joseon Buddhism while paying continuous visits to Joseon Buddhist temples, supporting the publication of Buddhist canons and proposing to have a regular meeting of 'The Invitation of 30 Head Temples.' From his visit to Youngju Temple and his consistent relationship with Kang Daeryeon, it can be assumed that he was involved in reorganizing power structure in Joseon Buddhism and establishing various institutions. He emphasized the strict adherence of individuals and communities to rules in his lecture for students at Jung Ang Hak Rim. It was a way to revive Joseon Buddhism by creating a new social image of Joseon Buddhism. He continued to work for the restoration of Joseon Buddhism even after he retired from Kyeong Sung Il Bo and returned to Japan. He introduced the originality of Joseon Buddhism history to Japan and sent Japanese monks to Korea in order to do research and contribute to exchange between Korean and Japanese Buddhism. All things taken together, it is evident that Abe Mitzihe regarded Joseon as backward or stagnant from a perspective of evolutionist or orientalist, and was a Japanese elite to believe that it was just for Japan to control Korea. However, he was different from other Japanese elites in that he did not considered Joseon Buddhism merely as the object of propagation. He thought that Joseon Buddhism possessed its own great tradition and culture, but was ruined because of the misadministration of the Joseon Royal House. Therefore, in his opinion, Joseon Buddhism should be recovered by means of some supports, and its revival would lead to the restoration of Joseon culture as a whole, which would be realized by Japanese rule over Korea and Japanese elites' generous assistance.
