The purpose of this study was to search the concept and meaning of performance assessment(PA) in the classroom, and the to proposed some strategies to apply PA. The result of this study was presented below. First, differentiation strategy is necessary in the evaluation goal. Individualization will be an example of differentiation strategy in the evaluation of group goal. Second, various strategies are needed based on the subjects of evaluation. Self-evaluation, peer-evaluation, and small group-evaluation are some examples evaluation for the subjects. Third, there is a need for phase-strategy assessment. For the class associated performance assessment, we have to consider the evaluation activities based on the time likes before (pre), on, and after class. How to select the evaluation task is also one of the key sucess factors for improving the class associated performance assessment.
The probability and the reliability-based seismic performance evaluation procedure proposed in the FEMA-355F was applied to a reinforced concrete moment frame building in this study. For the FEMA procedure, which was originally developed for steel moment frame structures, to be applied to other structural systems, the capacity should be re-defined and the factors reflecting the uncertainties related to capacity and demand need to be determined. To perform the evaluation procedure a prototype building was designed per IBC 2003, and inelastic dynamic analyses were conducted applying site-specific ground motions to determine the parameters for performance evaluation. According to the analysis results, distribution of the determined capacities turned out to be relatively smaller than that of the demands, which showed that the defined capacity was reasonable. It was also shown that the prototype building satisfied the target performance since the determined confidence levels exceeded the objectives for both local and global collapses.

During the last decade many enterprises spent a huge amount of money for investment on Information Technology (IT) & Information System (IS) to attain competitive advantage and to maximize their business performance by satisfying the various requirements of customers. Under such circumstances, methodologies for evaluating IT impact on business performance are very important issues for strategic decision making on investment. In this study, we propose a performance evaluation model that adopts the concept of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and the Value Chain to analyze the financial impact and non-financial impact of IT & IS at each critical work area. This model combines the 4 evaluation areas from BSC and 6 critical work areas from Value Chain and measures the Key Performance Indicator (HPI) and the effect of KPI. Also, we present a case study of which the evaluation model has been conducted on a major manufacturing company. finally. we address some important notes to improve the IT & IS performances in the real-world.

A performance evaluation tool makes an important role in order to improve performance of an embedded software which has restricted computing resources. However, existing performance evaluation tools for embedded softwares cannot be used in collaborative development environment because they support only one developer with performance evaluation work under cross development environment. In this paper, we propose a performance evaluation tool for embedded softwares on collaborative development environment. A proposed tool is based on server and client model. It can have flexibility in offering and integrating the result information for the items. Through the suggested tool. developers can intuitively understand and analysis performance evaluation results each other.

This paper assesses the suitability of existing standards for plastic material models and performance level evaluation methods in seismic performance evaluations of concrete dam piers during Maximum Credible Earthquakes (MCE). Dynamic plastic analysis was conducted to examine the applicability of the plastic material model under various conditions. As a result reveal that when the minimum reinforcement ratio is not met, the average stress-average strain method recommended in current dam seismic performance evaluation guidelines tends to underestimate pier responses compared to the predicted outcomes of dynamic elastic analysis. Consequently, the paper proposes an improvement plan that treats dam piers with an insufficient minimum reinforcement ratio as unreinforced and integrates fracture energy into concrete tensile behavior characteristics for performance level evaluation. Implementing these improvements can lead to more conservative evaluation outcomes compared to current seismic performance evaluation methods.

As a first step in developing a more effective and robust approach to faculty research performance assessment, this study analyzed the existing faculty research assessment methods by comparing Korean universities' research evaluation standards, National Research Foundation of Korea's (KRF) standard for assessing research proposals, and various bibliometric measures. The study data included research evaluation standards of KRF along with 27 Korean universities with Library and Information Science (LIS) department, and the publication data of 183 LIS faculties in Korean universities from 2001 to 2015, which consisted of 3,863 papers 16,978 citations. After the comparative analysis of research evaluation standards, the study examined the rankings of institutions and faculty produced by applying the collected standards and bibliometric metrics to the publication data. The study showed that Korean university standards for research evaluation, which aim to consider both productivity and impact of faculty research, differ from similar bibliometric measures such as h-index, and the difference could significantly impact the assessment of faculty research performance.
This paper describes ISO/IEC TR 24029-1, an international standard to evaluate the performance of artificial intelligence systems. ISO/IEC TR 24029-1 defines the performance measures of artificial intelligence systems in two categories, i.e. interpolation and classificiation. Performance measures in the interpolation categories mean how much the predicted values of the artificial intelligence system is close to the real values. Performance measures in the classification categories mean how much the predicted classes of the artificial intelligence system is equal to the real classes. Based on these performance measures, performance of artificial intelligence systems can be evaluated and performance of different artificial intelligence systems can be compared.

This study establishes key factors on ISM (Internet Shopping Mall) performance in Korea. The four factors are derived from the relevant literature and clarified the concept of ISM characteristics, customer characteristics, ISM evaluation level. and perceived risks by distinguishing between its components and determinants. ISM performance indicators were derived from the previous studios classifying by ISM attitude and ISM usage. We examine on the impact of ISM characteristics and customer characteristics on the ISM evaluation level, then its level and perceived risks on the ISM performance. Hypotheses on four factors of ISM performance were tested for 172 respondents. Results indicate that four factors may partially serve as key predictors on ISM performance. ISM characteristics and customer characteristics was found to be positively influenced on ISM evaluation level, and its level also positively affected on ISM performance while perceived risks negatively affected on ISM performance.
In this study, numerical simulations and performance evaluation has been carried out to investigate performance characteristics of air-type high pressure piston pump. ANSYS and CFX were applied for analyzing the structure and flow behavior of air-type high pressure piston pump, respectively. The performance evaluation of high pressure piston pump was performed experimentally, the results were compared with simulation. It was found that the freezing phenomenon was improved by 20% and the pressure fluctuation decreased by 50%, compared with the previous pump.

Currently, 22% of the total energy consumption of buildings in Korea is used for lighting. Light-shelves have garnered attention as a way to reduce consumption, but there are few studies on the types of curve and curvature, which limits the improvement of light-shelf performance and its design. This study constructed a test bed of actual residential types to evaluate the performance. Outcomes of light usage, according to variables of light-shelves, were used as indicators of performance evaluation. The results are as follows:1) Performance evaluation was conducted on flat-type light-shelves to verify performance of curvature-shelves, which are movable with a width of 200 mm, and the most ideal angle and specification per solar term are calculated. 2) The (-) shaped curvature contributed to a reduction in energy consumption and an improvement of evenness. 3) In case of light-shelves with (-) shaped curvature, an increased angle not exceeding $80^{\circ}$ of the arc contributed to an improvement of light penetration. 4) Appropriate specifications of curved light-shelves include movable types with widths of 200 mm, and angle ranges of $20^{\circ}{\sim}60^{\circ}$. 5) Light energy consumption of a movable light-shelf with curvature and width of 200 mm were reduced by 17% and 7.8% compared to a $0^{\circ}$ fixed and a movable light-shelf, respectively.
