Exploring the Essence of 'Science Content' and 'Science Education': Focus on 'Essential-Holistic' Perspective and Practices (과학교과내용학과 과학교육학의 본질 탐구 -'본질적-총체적' 관점과 실천전통을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to critically examine science content and science education from the 'essential-holistic' perspective, in particular, among the core disciplines constituting the teacher education curriculum. In this study, we first, analyzed the definition of the 'essential-holistic' perspective, the philosophical background, and the relationship with the practices in-depth, and then, from the 'essential-holistic' perspective, conducted an inquiry into the essence of science content and science education. The results of this study are as follows: first, according to the 'essential-holistic' perspective, science content is a study that explores the science practices and systematizes the results of that inquiry. Major activities of science content include the establishment and implementation of 'science for teachers' and participation in the development of science curriculum (textbook). Second, science education according to the 'essential-holistic' perspective is a study about in-depth exploration of essential problems in science education phenomena rooted in the science practices and the practice of good teaching. More specifically, science education is a field that carries out work related to inviting, participating, and guiding students to grow into science practices (i.e. initiating into practices). The main activities of science education related to this include activities ranging from the development of the science curriculum (textbook) to teaching and evaluation (recording). In this study, we discussed important tasks to be carried out in the future based on the results of the study.

A Critical Consideration of the Relationships between 'Academic Discipline', 'Subject', 'Subject Content', and 'Subject Matter Education': Focus on Science Education (학문, 교과, 교과내용, 교과교육 간 관계에 대한 비판적 고찰 -과학교육을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to critically examine the relationship between 'academic disciplines', 'subject', 'subject content', and 'subject matter education' as an attempt to explore the meaning and identity of subject matter education. In this study, first, we looked at the origin of the 'separative' perspective, focusing on science education, and the effects of this perspective on the relationship between 'academic discipline', 'subject', 'subject content', and 'subject matter education'. In addition, the relationship between them was examined from 'essential-holistic' perspective. As a result of the study, it was found that the 'separative' perspective has limitations in grasping the organic and overall relationship between 'academic discipline', 'subject', 'subject content', and 'subject matter education'. Therefore, we need to overcome the existing 'separative' perspective in order to go beyond the current horizon. On the other hand, the 'essential-holistic' perspective shows a close relationship that is not essentially separated between 'academic discipline', 'subject', 'subject content', and 'subject matter education'. It is expected as a perspective that can help solve the teacher education problem caused by the 'separative' perspective.

  • 21세기는 전 세계를 대상으로 디지털 네이티브가 활약하며 '틀이 없는 교육'을 지향하는 혁신 교육 패러다임 세상이다. 이미 세계 여러 나라에서는 ICT(Information & Communication Technology)를 미래를 대비한 교육 개선의 핵심사업의 일환으로 교육에 활용하고 있다. 이를 토대로 2012년 출현하여 현재 급성장하고 있는 대규모 공개 온라인 수업을 MOOC(Massive Open Online Course)라고 부른다. 세계의 많은 우수한 대학들이 앞장서서 수업을 공개하고 상호 소통하는 플랫폼 역할을 하는 MOOC(이하'무크'라고 한다)는 교육 분야의 다양한 영역에서 활용되고 있다. 또한, 세계경제의 장기적인 불황과 저성장을 극복하기 위해 기업가정신과 창업에의 관심이 매우 높아져 있는 지금, 미국과 유럽을 중심으로 기업가정신(Entrepreneurship)교육 프로그램 또한 무크 플랫폼을 통해 활발히 진행되고 있다. 하지만, 국내에서는 아직까지 무크의 중요성을 인지하고 실제 다양한 교육과정에서 활용하는 이용자가 적은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 해외의 주요한 무크 플랫폼의 사례분석과 학습자 및 교수자들의 인터뷰를 통한 질적 연구방법을 활용하여 '무크 플랫폼이 기업가정신 교육에 효율적인지에 관한 연구문제'를 설정하고 이러한 연구문제에 대한 분석을 통해 총체적인 관점에서 무크 현상의 본질적 가치와 의미를 이해 하고자 한다. 지금 급속도로 확산되고 있는 창업교육에 이러한 무크 플랫폼을 통한 가속화를 기대할 수 있을지, 또한 이러한 무크 플랫폼을 통한 교육효과는 우리가 기대할 수 있을만한지 본 연구를 통해 분석하려고 한다.

An Analytical Study on the Studies of Mathematical Creativity in Korea: Focusing on the Essence of Mathematical Creativity (창의성의 본질적 관점에서 본 수학적 창의성 교육의 국내 연구 동향)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the research trends on 101 articles about mathematical creativity published in domestic journals. The analysis criteria are as follows: (1)What kind of terms the articles use to refer to the creativity in mathematics education, (2)Whether the researchers conceptualize such the terms or not, (3)Whether the definitions are domain-specific or not, (4)What perspectives, categories and levels of the articles have on creativity. The results of this study show the following. First, numerous articles used 'mathematical creativity' in order to point to the creativity in mathematics education. Second, among the 101 selected articles, 60 (59.4%) provided an explicit definition of the mathematical creativity and 19(18.8%) provided an implicit definition. Among the 79 articles, only 43(54.4%) provided domain-specific definitions. Second, the percentage of articles preferring one perspective over the other 3 perspectives were similar. Third, the rate of articles which focused on press(environment) of all categories (person, process, product, press) was low. Fourth, regarding the levels of creativity, most articles were done on little-c creativity level, on the other hand, the articles having an interest in mini-creativity were very rare. Based on these results, necessities of explicit and domestic-specific definition, whole approach of mathematical creativity, and articles focusing on the mini-creativity level should be reported.

Improving Geographical Thinking through the Specification of Geographic Skills (지리적 사고력 신장을 위한 기능의 상세화)

  • Recently more emphasis thinking is domain-specific by cognitive psychologists, because problem solving needs domain-specific knowledge. Improving students' geographical thinking should ensure that geographic skills are used when developing teaching-leaming objectives. Knowledge is undoubtedly important, but for the purpose of the teaching of geography thinking, skills are critical. The purpose of this paper is to make specification of geographic skills as a frame of reference for instructional objectives. Based on cognitive psychology, this paper examined the interdependence relationship between thinking and knowledge. Next, we attempt to conceptualize high order geographical thinking and relatively lower order geographic skills and to explore specification of geographic skills in complex thinking strategical perspectives.

The Contingent Approach to Landscape Aesthetics (조경미학에서의 우연적 접근)

  • 본 연구는 경관선호에 관한 평가방법을 서술적으로 구명하면서 기존의 경관선호에 관한 평가방법이 자연적 요소를 많이 포함한 경관의 평가출 정착히 하는데 따르는 문제점을 제시하고 경관의 우연적 국면에 따라 경관선호의 우연성(Contingency in Landscape Preference)을 개관하면서 경관평가의 우연성(Contingency in Landscape Evaluation)에 의한 우연적 경관평가방법(Contingent Approach in Landscape Evaluation)의 가능성을 시사했다. 최근까지의 경관평가방법을 크게 분류하면 총체적(Universal) 접근방법, 개성적(Idiosyncratic) 접근방법, 조화적(Contrastic) 접근방법 등으로 나눌 수 있다. 그런데 경관성에서의 우연성을 강조함 으로써, 앞의 세방법만을 가지고서는 경관의 실체 파악이 어렵기 때문에 새로운 방법이 강구되어야 한다. 이의 한 대안으로 경관선호에 대한 평가를 우연적 접근방법으로 해결함으로써 평가영역과 평가요소를 확장시킬 수 있다. 따라서 수학적 매트릭스가 가능하다는 시사를 본 연구에서 구시하면서 새로운 평가방법으로 우연적 경관평가방법을 제시했다. 우연적 경관평가방법은 우연적 경관성에 의한 심미성을 고려하여 종합적으로 분석할 수 있으나 우연적 영역을 의도적으로 설정하지 않는 한 현실적으로 재정적 흑은 시간적 제약성을 지니고 있다. 그러나, 경관선호의 정도에 관한 평가보다는 경관의 본질을 구성하는 모든 요소를 고려한 평가가 경관선호평가에 대한 종합성을 반영할 수 있다. 경관평가의 모호성에도 불구하고 경관의 본질은 우연성에 의존한다고 본다면 우연적 경관평가방법은 크게 무리가 없다. 결국 경관은 생명성을 지니고 있기 때문에 현상으로만 볼 것이 아니라 동시적이면서 산재적 이며 상황적 다양성으로 간주해야 하며 고러란 관점을 강조한 것이 우연적 경관선호 및 경관평가에 대한 접근이라 할 수 있다.도 나타났다. 직업간의 유의성은 학생과 타 직업간에 나타났다. 직업간의 유의성은 학생과 타 직업간에 현격하게 나타났으나, 개인차를 나타내는 속성적 변수는 상호보완적인 변수기능을 수행하고 있기 때문에 다양한 행동의 설명력있는 이유로 볼 수 없다.때로는 민담에서도 풍수가 주제가 되는 경우가 있고, 일반적으로는 역사적 사실이나 인물을 통하여 취락민이지녀온 자연요소에 대한 인식관 또는 그러한 생활에서 나타나는 윤리관 등이 암암리에 표현되기도 한다. 민담을 통하여 우리는 주민들 의식 속에 남아있는 취락의 중요한 요소나 장소들을 찾아볼수 있고 더불어 이들을 중심으로 이루어 졌을지도 모를 생활모습들을 생각해볼 수 있다. 이러한 것들은 $\ulcorner$순응$\lrcorner$의 다른 일면 또는 때에 따라서는 극히 의도적인 $\ulcorner$표현$\lrcorner$적인 한 면모 - 그 대표적인 경우로 정원을 구성하는데 개재된 인간의 의미는 무언가를 표현 또는 표출하고자 함에 있다는 점 -라 볼수도 있을, 예로써 성리학적 사고관념으로써 집과 정사 그리고 주변 경관을 자신의 내적본직 또는 윤리적 영역으로 삼아 묘사.표현.구체화 시켜가기도 한다. 최소한 동족부락의 한두 예들에서 그러한 $\ulcorner$표현$\lrcorner$적 의도에 의한 경관구성의 일면을 확인할수 있지만 엄밀히 생각하여 보면 이러한 예의 경우도 최락의 총체적인 외형은 마찬가지로 $\ulcorner$순응$\lrcorner$의 범위를 벗어나지 않는다. 그렇기 때문에도 $\ulcorner$순응$\lrcorner$$\ulcorner$표현$\lrcorner$의 성격과 형태를 외형상으로 더욱이 공간상에서는 뚜렷하게

A Study on the Strengths Model-based Parenting Experience of the Children with ADHD (강점관점으로 본 ADHD 아동 어머니의 양육 경험에 관한 연구)

  • This study was aimed to seek the essential meaning of the Strengths Model based experience of the mothers of the children with ADHD. To achieve such goal, a phenomenological study was carried out from April 2010 to April 2011 covering about 12 months in the way of 2~3 times of interviewing with 14 mothers of the children with ADHD. As a result, the essence of the experiences of those mothers was interpreted as 'the running of unwanted marathon struggling themselves to complete it'. The joining in the unwanted marathon turned out to have led 'me' the mother of the children with ADHD into miserable pain, but that is the 'energy' for 'my child' to endure the world. The essence of those mothers' experiences were divided into eight processes by timely constitution. They firstly experience 'a serial confusion' by their children's odd behaviour which turns out to be 'a semiconscious feeling by the diagnosis with 'ADHD' but then they make full efforts for their children accepting their 'maternal fate'. In that process, they participate in the unwanted marathon with the feeling of misery and gratitude for the 'sayings of teachers which play the roles of shot and grace'. The process was expressed as 'marathon like pain'. They make a resolve to live positively in the midst of lonely struggle unable to give up toward the finish line for 'my child and myself'. They encourage themselves for their children, but that's not easy process. Nevertheless, they gain enduring energy supported by their child, family and specialists. Those mothers keep running today also for their 'beloved doves enduring the ongoing hardship' from the raising of abnormal child toward the finish line of the marathon they have to run for even though the 'finish line' may turn into' 'starting point' again'. This researcher submits here the maternal experiences above as the task to practice social welfare for the mothers of the children with ADHD and the children themselves.

  • The public performance of drama has essence to convert text to visual images as stage and to represent, inform such visual images. Visual image is formed through a space as stage. Stage is a dish to fill the texts and is the mother's womb of visual image. Namely, visual image of drama equals space image. The purpose of this study is a trial to grasp the structure and system represented through interpreting. Especially, the concerns of this study are not semiology of letter imported in image but spacial image text importing just contents of text and the process and contents grasping the structure and meaning of dramatic space. Finally, this study proposed 'the system of space embodiment'from the semiotic point of view as interpretation methodology of actual memorial, symbolic space.

Culture and Development in International Development Cooperation and the Need for the Concept of 'Relational Place' (국제개발협력에서 문화와 발전 논의의 전개와 한계, 그리고 관계적 장소 개념의 필요성)

  • The development paradigm based on modernization theory and economic growth since the WWII reached an impasse in the 1980s. As an alternative, the new perspective on development as a whole social development beyond economic growth has emerged, and culture as an important method for as well as a approach to development has been emphasized. Post-development theories destruct the European development concept and suggest alternative developments emphasizing culture restoration, endogenous growth, diversity, and neopopulist developments movement emphasize community, gender, ownership, and participation. International Organizations such as UNESCO have also examined and developed the relations between culture and development. Although different from that of the past development paradigm, acknowledging other cultures, however, this elaborated concept of culture has some limitations and need to be reconceptualized through applying the geographical concept of 'relational place.' The concept of relational place can help recognize internal diversity within culture and community and link them to a broader economic and political contexts.

Rethinking the Characteristics of the New Economy: A Systemic View (시스템적 관점에서 접근한 신경제의 특성에 대한 재고찰)

  • Under the rubric of the new economy, a wide variety of economic and social phenomena have been identified and discussed since the 1990's. Most of the observations in the literature on the new economy are fragmented, casual, and anecdotal, not compiling to a whole picture of what the new economy is really about. Therefore, this study attempts to provide e-commerce companies with a better, more systematic understanding of the new economy and new economy phenomena as well as the implications of them in order to help them develop more effective business strategies. To provide a better understanding of the new economy phenomena, this article adopts system perspective as an overarching frame of reference for analysis. The systemic characteristics and behavior of the new economy is sought in five generic aspects of a system; 1) what are the entities that comprise the system, and how are they related to one another?; 2) how does the system function?; 3) what are the goods and services (output) that are generated and flow in the system?; 4) what is the value of those goods and services?; and 5) what are the collective, systemic quality and attributes of the system? Based upon the review and categorization, some essential characterizations are made for the five system aspects of the new economy. Such characterizations are interpreted as collectively enunciating the systemic characteristics and behavior of the new economy. The implications of the systemic under-standing of the new economy for business and firm strategy are discussed and some future research is suggested.
