With Brain Computer Interface (BCI) system, a person with disabled limb could use this direct brain signal like electroencephalography (EEG) to control a device such as the artifact arm. The precise force control for the artifact arm is necessary for this artificial limb system. To understand the relationship between control EEG signal and the gripping force of hands, We proposed a study by measuring EEG changes of three grades (25%, 50%, 75%) of hand grip MVC (Maximal Voluntary Contract). The acquired EEG signal was filtered to obtain power of three wave bands (alpha, beta, gamma) by using fast fourier transformation (FFT) and computed power spectrum. Then the power spectrum of three bands (alpha, beta and gamma) of three classes (MVC 25%, 50%, 75%) was classified by using PCA (Principal Component Analysis) and LDA (Linear Discriminant Analysis). The result showed that the power spectrum of EEG is increased at MVC 75% more than MVC 25%, and the correct classification rate was 52.03% for left hand and 77.7% for right hand.

The maximum work capacity at various shoulder angles was estimated in terms of joint moment through maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) measurement, and the result was compared to workload computed from 3-D static lifting model (3DSSPP) based upon national institute of safety and health (NIOSH) lifting guideline (1991). The electromyography (EMG) of anterior/posterior deltoid and trapezius muscle was also recorded to study the function of individual muscle during asymmetric shoulder lifting. Psychophysical workload was measured to observe the difference from MVC or biomechanical estimation. An apparatus was constructed for the study and twenty five trials including five flexion angles and five add/abduction angles were performed isometrically. Results indicated that MVC at 30 degree of flexion was the strongest whereas MVC at 120 degree was the weakest. In case of add/abduction, MVC decreased to 77 to 89 % during add/abduction compared to the MVC at neutral position. Regarding the normalized EMG value, a substantial increase was observed at 30 and 60 degree abduction. More importantly, the shoulder moment computed from maximum permissible limit (MPL) was greater than the moment at MVC condition during 30 degree adduction. Current result can be used as a reference information for a safe workplace design to prevent the shoulder from an excessive work load in industry.
This study was performed to investigate a relationship between a biomechanical analysis of compressive force at L5/S1 and electromyographic analysis of erector spinae muscle during lifting task. In the experiment, isometric contractions at 25, 50, 75, 100%MVC for short duration and sustained isometric contractions at 50%MVC were performed. For muscle recruitment patten and compressive force analysis, rectified EMG amplitudes analysis and computerized biomechanical analysis were used. To achieve data, angles of neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and length of body segments were measured. Results shows that trends of initial EMG rectified amplitude were similar to those of biomechanical calculation value and for sustained isometric contraction at 50%MVC EMG rectified amplitude of erector spinae muscle after 40seconds was increased up to level of 75%MVC. Based on the results of this study, biomechanical analysis should be supplemented considering muscle fatigue, and it is also suggested that work-rest cycle critera and the evaluation of back-pain injuries should include muscle fatigue.
This study was to test whether Hanwoo in vitro matured oocytes can be successfully cryopreserved by a new vitrification procedure using MVC method. For the vitrification, oocytes were pretreated in 10% ethylene glycol (EG10) for 5-10 min, exposed in EG30 for 30 sec, each oocytes were individually put on the inner wall of 0.25 $m\ell$ straw, and then straws were directly plunged into L$N_2$. Thawing was taken by 4-step procedures [1.0 Msucrose (MS), 0.5 MS, 0.25 MS, and 0.125 MS] at 37$^{\circ}C$. In vitro developmental capacity (survival, cleavage ($\geq$2-cell) and blastocyst rates) in vitrified group was no significant difference compared to that in other treatment groups (exposed; 100.0, 74.4, 32.3% and control; 100.0, 78.3, 36.3%): high mean percentage of oocytes (91.2%) was survived, 69.4% of them were cleaved and 27.9% of cleaved embryos were developed to blastocyst. Especially, after transfer of in vitro developed embryos in vitrified group, four of six recipient animals were found to pregnant and three of them were ongoing pregnant by manual palpation at 250 days after transfer. However, among them, two healthy female calves (23 and 25kg) were born. This result demonstrates that MVC method is very appropriate freezing method for the Hanwoo in vitro matured oocytes and that ovum bank can be maintained efficiently by MVC cryopreservation method.

Isometric muscle strength has become important as it is realized that a large variation in the human exists and is affected by many personal and environmental factors. Experiments have been performed for estimating the individual capabilities of the quadriceps femoris muscle in man. The surface EMG has been recorded on the belly of the rectus femoris muscle during voluntary isometric continuous exertion at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% MVC. As a muscle force (% MVC) increases, the rectified mean EMG amplitude increases in a non-linear form. The rectified mean EMG amplitude also increases in a non-linear with respect to fatigue progression. As the muscle force (% MVC) increases, an endurance time of isometric exertion decreases linearly. Analysis shows that rectified mean EMG amplitude is a consistent and sensitive measure of motor unit recruitments and can be useful in estimating an individual capability of a local muscle. Further, the result satisfies the sufficient condition that type S motor units are recruited first, while large motor units are recruited progressively as the fatigue develops.
Purpose: This study examined the activation of the rectus abdominis (RA), external abdominal oblique (EO), transversus abdominis, internal abdominal oblique (TrA/IO), and Multifidus (MF) muscles while stabilization exercise was performed in a four-point kneeling position. Methods: Experiments were conducted on 21 healthy male adults (mean age=25.29 years) who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study. Each subject was instructed regarding maximal voluntary contractions (MVC) and stabilization exercise in four-point kneeling. While MVC and stabilization exercise of individual muscles were being performed, activation of the muscles was measured using surface electromyography (EMG). Activation of the muscles while performing stabilization exercise in four-point kneeling was normalized to a percentages of the MVC. Results: Left RA, right TrA/IO, right and left MF muscles showed significant differences among the positions. Conclusion: Selecting an optimal position can aid subjects on physical conditions while performing stabilization exercises in the four-point kneeling position.
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the domestic disinfection and quarantine market has grown, and the demand for disinfection operators who want to recruit disinfectants and disinfectants who want to work has increased, but it is not easy to find jobs. In addition, there is a need for a system that can automate or efficiently manage work by hand-recording and writing a disinfection record for disinfection work. Therefore, in this paper, an O2O disinfection service system is designed using the MVC pattern and implemented through MySQL, Ejs/BootStrap view, and Node.js. Additionally, it connects with AWS cloud services so users can use the system anytime, anywhere. Through the proposed O2O disinfection service system, we hope to solve the difficulties of recruiting personnel in the domestic disinfection station market and improve the existing inefficient disinfection work process.

The goal of the study is to determine the most sensitive parameter to represent the degree of muscle force and fatigue. Various numerical parameters such as the first coefficient of Autoregressive (AR) Model, Root Mean Square (RMS), Zero Crossing Rate (ZCR), Mean Power Frequency (MPF), Median Frequency (MF) were tested in this study. Ten healthy male subjects participated in the experiment. They were asked to extend their trunk by using the right and left erector spinae muscles during a sustained isometric contraction for twenty seconds. The force levels were 15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, and 75% of Maximal Voluntary Contraction (MVC), and the order of trials was randomized. The results showed that RMS was the best parameter to measure the force level of the muscle, and that the first coefficient of AR model was relatively sensitive parameter for the fatigue measurement at less than 60% MVC condition. At the 75% MVC, however, both MPF and the first coefficient of AR Model showed the best performance in quantification of muscle fatigue. Therefore, the sensitivity of measurement can be improved by properly selecting the parameter based upon the level of force during a sustained isometric condition.
[Purpose] We determined the effect of partial sleep deprivation (PSD) after an exercise session on exercise performance on the following morning. [Methods] Eleven male athletes performed either a normal sleep trial (CON) or a PSD trial. On the first day (day 1), all subjects performed an exercise session consisting of 90 min of running (at 75% ${\dot{V}}O_{2max}$) followed by 100 drop jumps. Maximal strength (MVC) was evaluated before and after exercise. In the CON trial, the sleep duration was 23:00-7:00, while in the PSD trial, the sleep duration was shortened to 40% of the regular sleep duration. On the following morning (day 2), MVC, the metabolic responses during 20 min of running (at 75% ${\dot{V}}O_{2max}$), and time to exhaustion (TTE) at 85% ${\dot{V}}O_{2max}$ were evaluated. [Results] On day 2, neither the MVC nor ${\dot{V}}O_2$ during 20 min of running differed significantly between the two trials. However, the respiratory exchange ratio was significantly lower in the PSD trial than in the CON trial (p = 0.01). Moreover, the TTE was significantly shorter in the PSD trial than in the CON trial (p = 0.01). [Conclusion] A single night of PSD after an exercise session significantly decreased endurance performance without significantly changing muscle strength or cardiopulmonary response.
