  • A valence bond method of calculation of the dipole moments for octahedral $(M(III)0_3S_3)$ type complexes are developed, using $d^2sp^3 $hybrid orbitals of the central metal ions and the single basis set orbital of ligands. (M (III) =V (III), Cr (III), Mn (III), Fe (III), Co (III), Ru (III), Rh (III) and OS (III)). In this method the mixing coefficient of the valence basis sets for the central metal ion with the appropriate ligand orbitals is not required to be the same, differently from the molecular orbital method. The valence bond method is much more easier to calculate the dipole moments for octahedral complexes than the approximate molecular orbital method and the calculated results are also in the range of the experimental vaues.

  • Simulation is used these days to verify the hypothesis or the new technology. In particular, National Defense Modeling & Simulation (M&S) is used to predict wartime situation and conduct the military training. National Defense M&S can be divided into three parts, live simulation, virtual simulation, and constructive simulation. Live simulation is based on the real environment, which allows more realistic sumulation; however, it has decreased budget efficiency, but reduced depictions of reality. In contrast, virtual and constructive simulations which are based on the virtual environment, have increased budget efficiency, but reduced depictions of reality. Thus, if the three parts of the M&S are combined to make the L-V-C combined environment, the disadvantages of each simulation can be complemented to increases the quality of the simulation. In this paper, a method of interworking heterogeneous simulation middeware for L-V-C combined environment is proposed, and the test results of interworking between Data Distribution Service (DDS) and High Level Architecture (HLA) are shown.

  • The data Presented in this Paper, on the body and Jumping voltage of Penaeus japonicus BATE, are part of a current study on shrimp behaviour in order to improve fishing efficiency of the fishing gear. The experiments concerning electrical stimuli was mostly carried out at the Marine Laboratory of Busan Fisheries College in 1972. The following are the results obtained from the present investigations : 1. When the voltages between a pair of electrodes were fixed constant, the voltage drops between them showed almost constant electrical field. 2. Threshold voltages of the animals varied with body direction to the electrical field, i. e., 200 -500 mV for parallel, 500-1400 mV for vertical and 300-800 mV for diagonal ($45^{\circ}$) settings. 3. Jumping voltages of the animals also varied with the body direction to the electrical field; i. e., 250-1000 mV for parallel, 800-2500 mV for vertical and 400-1300 mV for diagonal settings. 4. The shrimp, in general, were more sensitive to the electrical stimuli when oriented to the cathode rather than the anode. 5. Jumping voltages decreased when the interrupted current was applied to the animals, i. e., less than 200 mV for paralled and 500mV for vertical direction of the body to the electrical field.

  • This paper proposes a highly power-efficient single-inductor multiple-outputs (SIMO) DC-DC converter with a gate charge sharing method in which gate charges of output switches are shared to improve the power efficiency and to reduce the switching power loss. The proposed converter was fabricated by using a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process technology with high voltage devices of 5 V. The input voltage range of the converter is from 2.8 V to 4.2 V, which is based on a single cell lithium-ion battery, and the output voltages are 1.0 V, 1.2 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V, and 3.3 V. Using the proposed gate charge sharing method, the maximum power efficiency is measured to be 87.2% at the total output current of 450 mA. The measured power efficiency improved by 2.1% compared with that of the SIMO DC-DC converter without the proposed gate charge sharing method.

  • Cell fusion device is an artificial equipment which fuses electrically two types of cells fed from the respective micropump to the fusion chamber by electric pulses. In this case, the detective sensor of flowing cell, along with passage, is required to control the time of pulses applied to cell and the injection of cells which are fed from inlet to micropump. There are two methods of detection of flowing cell; optical, impedance method. The difference of output for optical sensor is about 426mV for 805nm wavelength. about 37mV for 665nm wavelength. In impedance method, sensor output is 132.33mV at middle point and 117.10mV at edge point in the channel. Experimental results show that the optimal frequency range of sensor output is Iron 50Hz to 400Hz.

  • This paper analysed the induced current density inside human body of hot-line worker for 765kV double circuit transmission line according to locations of human body. Human model was composed of several organs and other parts, whose shapes were expressed by spheroids or cylinders. Organs such as the brain, heart, lungs, liver and intestines were taken into account. Applying the 3 dimensional boundary element method, we calculated induced current density in case a worker was located inside and outside a lowest phase of 765 kV transmission line in which a 60% current of maximum load flowed. As results of study, we found a maximum induced current density in all organs was less than $10mA/m^2$ when a wonder was outside. As one in brain and heart was higher than $10mA/m^2$ when a worker was inside, we propose a method for lowering current density.

  • Ground motion models predicting intensity measures on surface use a time-averaged shear wave velocity, VS30, as a key variable simulating site effect. The VS30 can be directly estimated from VS profiles if the profile depth (z) is greater than or equal to 30 m. However, some sites have VS profiles with z < 30 m. In this case VS30 can be predicted using extension models. This study proposes new coefficient sets for existing prediction equations using 297 Korea VS profiles. We have collected VS profiles from KMA and Geoinfo database. Fitting six existing methods to data, we suggest new coefficients for each method and evaluate their performance. It turns out that if z ≥ 15 m, the standard deviation (σ) of residual in log10 is 0.061, which indicates that the estimated VS30 is nearly accurate. If z < 15 m, the σ keeps increasing up to 0.1 for z = 5 m, so we caution the use of models at very low z. Nonetheless, we recommend investigating up to 30 m depth for VS30 calculation if possible.

  • The $Zr_{57}V_{36}M_7$ getter alloy was prepared by Fe substituting Ga or Y for Fe on $Zr_{57}V_{36}M_7$ getter alloy(St707), and the activation temperatures and the hydrogen a sorption speeds of these alloys were investigated. The activation temperatures of these alloys were estimated from the ultimate pressure-temperature curve and lowered about $100\~200\;K$ compared to $Zr_{57}V_{36}M_7$, fetter alloy(St707). However, final pressures at fully activated temperature were increased with substitution of Fe by Ga and Y on $Zr_{57}V_{36}M_7$ getter alloy. The hydrogen sorption speeds of these alloys measured by an orifice method were decreased about $0.460\~0.586liter/sec$ g compared to $Zr_{57}V_{36}M_7$ getter alloy.

  • A rapid, simple and sensitive LC/MS/MS method for the determination of lercanidipine in human serum was validated and applied to the pharmacokinetic study of lercanidipine. Lercanidipine and internal standard, amlodipine, were extracted from human serum by liquid-liquid extraction with hexan-isoamyl alcohol (100: 1, v/v) and analyzed on a $Symmetry^{(R)}$ MS $C_{18}$ column with the mobile phase of acetonitrile-0.2% aqueous formic acid (70: 30, v/v). Using MS/MS with multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode, lercanidipine and amlodipine were detected without severe interferences from human serum matrix. Lercanidipine produced a protonated precursor ion ($[M+H]^+$) at m/z 612.3 and a corresponding product ion at m/z 280.0. Internal standard produced a protonated precursor ion ($[M+H]^+$]) at m/z 409.0 and a corresponding product ion at m/z 238.0. The ruggedness of this method was investigated using quality control (QC) samples. This method showed linear response over the concentration range of 0.05-20 ng/mL with correlation coefficient greater than 0.999. The lower limit of quantitation using 0.5 mL of serum was 0.05 ng/mL, which was sensitive enough for pharmacokinetic studies. The overall accuracy of the developed method ranged from 85.51 to 112.2% for lercanidipine with overall precision (% C.V.) being 3.56-13.1%. This method showed good ruggedness (within 15% C.V.) and was successfully applied for the analysis of lercanidipine in human serum samples for the pharmacokinetic studies, demonstrating the suitability of the method.
