Stellar magnetic activity is important for formulating the evolution of the star. To represent the stellar magnetic activity, the S index is defined using the Ca II H+K flux measure from the Mount Wilson Observatory. Mg II lines are generated in a manner similar to the formation of Ca II lines, which are more sensitive to weak chromospheric activity. Mg II flux data are available from the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE). Thus, the main purpose of this study was to analyze the magnetic activity of stars. We used 343 high-resolution IUE spectra of 14 main-sequence G stars to obtain the Mg II continuum surface flux and Mg II line-core flux around 2,800 Å. We calculated S index using the IUE spectra and compared it with the conventional Mount Wilson S index. We found a color (B - V ) dependent association between the S index and the Mg II emission line-core flux. Furthermore, we attempted to obtain the magnetic activity cycles of these stars based on the new S index. Unfortunately, this was not successful because the IUE observation interval of approximately 17 years is too short to estimate the magnetic activity cycles of G-type stars, whose cycles may be longer than the 11 year mean activity cycle of the sun.

The Perfectionism Index (PI) is an indicator that is recently proposed to distinguish influential researchers from mass producers. In this study, Near Perfectionism Index (NPI), an improved indicator of Perfectionism Index, can be a solution to the problem of PI that indiscriminately gives a penalty to all low-cited papers regardless of publishing time or other issues. NPI improved the method to give a penalty to tail complement area considering the citation distribution curve. It prevents the improvement of the h-index from adversely affecting the researcher's influence indicator. This study uses NPI to evaluate information and library science journals in Web of Science database. It successfully distinguishes between influential journals and mass producers unlike journal h-index or average citation frequency which could not differentiate influentials from mass producers.
The distinguishing number (index) D(G) (D'(G)) of a graph G is the least integer d such that G has an vertex labeling (edge labeling) with d labels that is preserved only by a trivial automorphism. The strong product G ☒ H of two graphs G and H is the graph with vertex set V (G) × V (H) and edge set {{(x1, x2),(y1, y2)}|xiyi ∈ E(Gi) or xi = yi for each 1 ≤ i ≤ 2.}. In this paper we study the distinguishing number and the distinguishing index of strong product of two graphs. We prove that for every k ≥ 2, the k-th strong power of a connected S-thin graph G has distinguishing index equal two.
Since emission regulations for vehicles have become more stringent, SCR technology has drawn a strong attention in order to reduce NOx emissions. Optimal design of a reductant injection nozzle and a multi-hole plate located between the cone and catalyst is critical in that the uniform distribution of reductant is necessary to maximize the NOx conversion efficiency and minimize the slip of reductant in SCR. In this work, an LPG fuel(C3H8 in vapor state) was used as a reductant for LPG vehicles. A Realizable k-$\varepsilon$ model is used for turbulence, and SCR body is defined as porous media with inertia and viscous resistances measured in this work. Effect of the number of nozzle holes on the flow mixing index was analyzed, which revealed that a four hole nozzle shows the best performance in terms of uniformity of flow. An installment of a multi-hole plate at the entrance of catalyst was evaluated with flow mixing index, uniformity of flow, and pressure drop. A multi-hole plate with gradual hole diameter change in three steps showed the best uniformity of flow within the conditions suggested in this work.

This paper describes the performance index of mobile robot and development of testbed which is used to evaluate the index. The developed testbed has rectangular structure similar to a living room of home. It is semi-automation testbed system for evaluation of cleaning performance index. This system is composed with scattering and cleaning equipment of test materials, equipment rifting of objects in inner space and sides itself, vision processing system. To be consistent of performance evaluation of cleaning robot, we make use of camera in this system for the sake of measurement of robot s mobility, path and suction quantity.

This study analyzes the relationship of citations appearing in the patent data to understand knowledge transfers and impacts between patent documents in the field of pharmaceutical research. Patent data were collected from a website, Google Patents. The top 25 assignees were selected by searching for patent documents related to pharmaceutical research. We identify the citation relationships between assignees, then calculate and compare the values of h-index and derived indicators by using the number of citations and rank for each document of each assignee. As a result, in the case of pharmaceutical research, the assignee, such as 'Pfizer, MIT, and Abbott' shows a high impact. Among the five bibliometric indicators, the g-index and hS-index show similar results, and the indicators are the most related to the rankings of Total Citation Frequency, Cites per Patents, and Maximum Citation Frequency. In addition, it is highly related to the five indicators in the order of Total Citation Frequency, Cites per Patents, and Maximum Citation Frequency. In some cases, it is difficult to make an accurate comparison with Cites per Patents alone, which is previously known to indicate the technological influence of patent assignees.

Authentication of videos and images based on the content is becoming an important problem in information security. Unfortunately, previous studies lack the consideration of Kerckhoffs's principle in order to achieve this (i.e., a cryptosystem should be secure even if everything about the system, except the key, is public knowledge). In this paper, a solution to the problem of finding a relationship between a frame's index and its content is proposed based on the creative utilization of a robust manifold feature. The proposed solution is based on a novel semi-fragile watermarking scheme for H.264/AVC video content authentication. At first, the input I-frame is partitioned for feature extraction and watermark embedding. This is followed by the temporal feature extraction using the Isometric Mapping algorithm. The frame index is included in the feature to produce the temporal watermark. In order to improve security, the spatial watermark will be encrypted together with the temporal watermark. Finally, the resultant watermark is embedded into the Discrete Cosine Transform coefficients in the diagonal positions. At the receiver side, after watermark extraction and decryption, temporal tampering is detected through a mismatch between the frame index extracted from the temporal watermark and the observed frame index. Next, the feature is regenerate through temporal feature regeneration, and compared with the extracted feature. It is judged through the comparison whether the extracted temporal watermark is similar to that of the original watermarked video. Additionally, for spatial authentication, the tampered areas are located via the comparison between extracted and regenerated spatial features. Experimental results show that the proposed method is sensitive to intentional malicious attacks and modifications, whereas it is robust to legitimate manipulations, such as certain level of lossy compression, channel noise, Gaussian filtering and brightness adjustment. Through a comparison between the extracted frame index and the current frame index, the temporal tempering is identified. With the proposed scheme, a solution to the Kerckhoffs's principle problem is specified.

This paper presents control method of a Z-source inverter and their relationships of voltage boost versus modulation index. A maximum boost control is presented to produce the maximum voltage boost(or voltage gain)under a given modulation index. The control method, relationships of voltage gain versus modulation index, and voltage stress versus voltage gain are analyzed in detail and verified by experiment.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the characters of Yangdorak in climacteric women. Methods: We analyzed the measurement value of Yangdorak on 37 climacteric women, aged 45-60 years. The patient's symptoms were assessed by modified Kupperman's index. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 13.0 for windows program. one-sample t-test. pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The results were as follows. 1. The average value of Yangdorak in 37 patients with climacteric women was 29.02$\pm$16.85. 2. According to the comparison of mean value with the each meridian value of Yangdorak. H1, H5 is high, F2, F3, F5 is low significantly. 3. The number of Pyesaek is more than Gyeokcha. 4. The Yangdorak value(F2) had significant correlation with modified Kupperman's index. Conclusion: The result suggests that Yangdorak values in H1, H5, F2, F3, F5 are related to climacteric. Further study on the yangdorak and climacteric syndrome measured by Kupperman's index is recommended.
