The fabrication of microwave circulator using polycrystalline $Y_{2.4}Ca_{0.3}Sn_{0.3}Fe_{5-x}Al_xO_{12}$ garnets (다결정 $Y_{2.4}Ca_{0.3}Sn_{0.3}Fe_{5-x}Al_xO_{12}$ 가네트 자성체를 이용한 마이크로파대 서큘레이터 구현)

  • In this paper, Ca, Sn substitute YIC(Yttrium Iron Garnet) ceramics were fabricated with Al substitutions in Fe sites. The strip-line circulator was designed and the properties of fabricated ciculator were measured. When the electric, magnetic and microwave properties were measured in Ca, Sn substituted YIG with Al subsititions, the relative permittivity and perfmeability in microwave frequencies were 15.623 and 0.972, repectively. For $Y_{2.4}Ca_{0.3}Sn_{0.3}Fe_{5-x}Al_xO_{12}$ garnet ceramics sintered at $1450^{\circ}C$, the ferrimagnetic resonance line width $\Delta{H}$) of 42 Oe and the saturation magnetization of 487 G were measured at 10 GHz. The strip-line circulator was simulated with 3-D FEM(Finite Element Method) software and designed to have insertion loss of 0.8dB, return loss of 25dB, isolation of 35dB at the center frequency of 1.9GHz. The fabricated strition loss of 0.8B, reture loss of 25dB, isolation of 35dB at the center frequency of 1.9GHz. The fabricated strip-line junction circulator using above YIG ceramics had insertion loss of 0.869dB, return loss of 26.955dB, isolation of 44.409dB at the center frequency of 1.9GHz.

  • Optical properties of $T_{0.2}Fe_{2.8}O_4$ (T = V, Cr, Mn) thin films derived from ferrimagnetic $Fe_3O_4$ were investigated by spectroscopic ellipsometry in the 1~8 eV photon-energy range. The difference in optical-absorption spectrum between the ternary compounds and $Fe_3O_4$ was analyzed based on preferable sites in spinel structure and iconicity of the doped V, Cr, and Mn ions. The observed absorption spectra from $Fe_3O_4$ and the ternary compounds can be interpreted as mainly due to charge-transfer transitions of Fe d electrons characterized by absorption structures with wide energy width. Also, the observed absorption structures with narrow energy width can be interpreted as due to crystal-field transitions between different d electron configurations of tetrahedral $Fe^{3+}(d^5)$ ion. The transitions were described in terms of spin-polarized electronic states of $Fe_3O_4$.

  • 전원장치의 소형 경량화 및 고효율화를 위한 핵심 기술인 변압기를 설계 및 제조하기 위해 넓은 유효단면적을 가진 평면 자성체와 편편하고 넓은 도체를 이용하여 고주파 손실을 감소시켜 고주파 대역용 전원장치에 채용 가능한 입력 220 V, 출력 15V, 300 W급 포워드(Forward) 평면 변압기를 설계 및 제조하고 전자기적 특성과 입출력 신호 특성을 측정하였다. 1차 코일과 2차 코일의 권선수는 각각 15회와 2회 그리고 여자(demagnetizing) 권선은 15회로 설계하였으며, 변압기의 총 발열은 $44.78^{\circ}C$로 설계 및 제작하였다. 스위칭 주파수 100kHz에서 1.65mH의 인덕턴스 값을 얻었으며, 100 V의 입력전압에 대하여 13 V의 안정한 구형 출력파형을 얻었다. 따라서 스위칭 듀티(duty)가 최고 0.4로 설계되었기 때문에 설계 목표한 15 V 출력에 유사한 전압을 나타내어 평면 변압기의 설계 방법을 확립하였으며, 평면 변압기의 응용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • A magnetic composite as noise absorber of quasi-microwave band was developed. The Fe-Si-Al alloy powder were forged by attrition mill to get flaky shape. The magnetic composite sheet was fabricated in which powders are dispersed in polymer and aligned in the direction perpendicular to electromagnetic wave propagation. The permittivity of magnetic composite is increased as forging time increasing, while the permeability is decreased slightly. The maximum attenuation peak of reflection loss is shifted to lower fiequency range as milling time increasing, and the value of maximum attenuation peak is to get smaller gradually. From these result, we could designed a noise absorber sheet (t=1.0 mm) for quasi-microwave band, which is impedance matched at 1.4 GHz with respect to -8.2 dB reflection 1055.

  • This study was conducte dto fabricate 2GHz circulator using Ca,Sn substituted UIG(yttrium iron garnet)ceramics. When the electric, magnetic and microwave properties were measured in Ca, Sn substituted YIG, the measured perimittivity and perfmeability in microwave frequencies were 16.25, 0.8964. For $Y_{2.4}$C $a_{0.3}$A $n_{0.3}$F $e_{3.5}$A $l_{1.5}$ $O_{12}$ garnet ceramics sintered at 1400.deg. C, the ferrimagnetic resonance line width (.DELTA.H) at 10GHz was 53 Oe and saturation magnetization was 375G. The strip-line circulator was simulated with 3-D FEM (finite element method) software and designed at the center frequency of 2GHz. The fabricated strip-line junction circulator using above YIG ceramics had insertion loss of 1.271dB, return loss of 23.843dB, isolation of 21.751dB at the center frequency 1.855GHz.z.z.z.z.z.z.

  • Dispersion behavior was investigated as functions of species and arrount of addtives, binders, abrasives, lubricants, etc.. Dispersibilityand other various properties were affected by the fuctional groups of binders. Friction coefficient and surface roughness of tape were changed with lubricants, therefore duratility of magnetic tape was varied. As a result of above investigations, we concluded that dispersion behavior of particles was very sensitive for obtaining maximum properties of metal particle tape.

  • The half-metallicity and magnetism for compounds of the $N_{(2-0.5n)}O_{0.5}nKCa$ (n = 0~4), which was based on the $d^0$ Heusler half-metals of $N_2KCa$ and $O_2KCa$, were investigated by means of first-principles band calculation method. From the calculated total magnetic moments and the density of states, we found that these three compounds have the half-metallicity. The magnetic moments of the N and O atoms in these compounds were considerably increased compared to those of pure $N_2KCa$ and $O_2KCa$. The K atoms have a large negative magnetic moments. The relationship between the value of magnetic moments for each atom and density of states are discussed.

  • In this study, we synthesized mesoporous carbon (Carbonized Ni-FDU-15) containing nanoporous structures and magnetic nanoparticles. Carbonized Ni-FDU-15 was synthesized via evaporation-induced self-assembly (EISA) and direct carbonization by using a triblock copolymer (F127) as a structure-directing agent, a resol precursor as a carbon-pore wall forming material, and nickel (II) nitrate as a metal ion source. The mesoporous carbon has a well-ordered two-dimensional hexagonal structure. Meanwhile, nickel (Ni) metal and nickel oxide (NiO) were produced in the magnetic nanoparticles in the pore wall. The size of the nanoparticles was about 37 nm. The surface area, pore size and pore volume of Carbonized Ni-FDU-15 were $558m^2g^{-1}$, $22.5{\AA}$ and $0.5cm^3g^{-1}$, respectively. Carbonized Ni-FDU-15 was found to move in the direction of magnetic force when magnetic force was externally applied. The magnetic nanoparticle-bearing mesoporous carbons are expected to have high applicability in a wide variety of applications such as adsorption/separation, magnetic storage media, ferrofluid, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and drug targeting, etc.

Numerical Analysis of Magneto-Optic Performance of One-Dimensional Magneto-Photonic Crystal (1차원 자성 포토닉 결정의 자기 광학 특성 수치해석)

  • One dimensional magneto-photonic crystal having structure of (A/B)$^{k/W}$(B/A)$^{k}$ , where M is a magnetic layer of highly Bi-substituted iron garnet, A and B are dielectric layers of $SiO_2$ and T $a_2$O$_{5/}$, and k is the stacking number of the dielectric layers, has been numerically analyzed as a function of the thickness (d$_{M}$) of M (1∼535 nm) and the stacking numer of k (5∼15). The transmittance, Faraday rotation, and figure of merit of the magneto-photonic crystal have been investigated both in the visible and infrared wavelengths. A factor of several and several tens greater Faraday rotation and figure of merit have been obtained compared to the single layer of M, at many localized modes. In the visible the maximum figure of merit of 0.15 was obtained ( = 720 nm) when k = 11 and d$_{M}$ = 375 nm with T : 0.54, $\theta$$_{F}$ = 8.13$^{\circ}$, which was a factor of 30 greater than that of single garnet layer. Much greater maximum figure of merit, 0.285, was obtained in the infrared ( = 1114 nm) when k = 11 and d$_{M}$ = 800 nm with T = 0.66, $\theta$$_{F}$ = 18$^{\circ}$, which was a factor of 100 greater than that of single garnet layer.

EEM Analysis of Open-Typed Cylindrical Shieldcase (양끝이 열린 실드케이스의 FEM해석)

  • Four-shell open-typed shield case was analyzed using 3D FEM. Analysis Dimension was $2m{\times}2m{\times}2m$. Length of shield case was 0.6m and its diameter was 0.1m, 0.08., 0.06m and 0.04m. Thickness and permeablility of shield case was all 1mm and 50,000. The excited magneic fields were earth magneic fields, which were 24A/m in the holizontal direction and 36A/m in the vertical direction, respectively. During FEM analysis, shield case was located at the direction of holizontal magnetic field and was rotated $90^{\circ}$. Magnetic field was $4.45{\times}10^{-2}A/m$ at the direction of holizontal magnetic field and $6.66{\times}10^{-4}A/m$ at the $90^{\circ}$ rotated direction.
