  • The alkylation of the ambident enolates of a methyl glycinate Schiff base with ethyl chloride was studied at B3LYP and MP2 levels with $6-31+G^*$ basis set. The free (E)-enolates and (Z)-enolate are similar in energy and geometry. The transition states for the alkylation of the free (E)/(Z)-enolate with ethyl chloride have similar energy barriers of ~13 kcal/mol. However, with a lithium ion, the (E)-enolate behaves as an ambident enolate and makes a cyclic lithium-complex in bidentate pattern which is more stable by 11-23 kcal/mol than the (Z)-enolate-lithium complexes. And the TS for the alkylation of (E)-enolate-lithium complex coordinated with one methyl ether is lower in energy than those from (Z)-enolate-lithium complexes by 4.3-7.3 kcal/mol. Further solvation model (SCRF-CPCM) and reaction coordinate (IRC) were studied. This theoretical study suggests that the alkylation of ambident enolates proceeds with stable cyclic bidentate complexes in the presence of metal ion and solvent.

  • CUSUM control charts are widely used to monitor processes with small shifts. CUSUM control charts are, however, less effective in detecting for recurring cycles or frequent small shifts in the processes. With Shewhart control charts, we have applied the variety of run rules to check the stability of process in addition to the situations that some points fall outside the control limits. In this paper, we propose the Z -CUSUM control chart for monitoring the process with recurring cycles or frequent small shifts by use of the zone concept as like the Shewhart control charts.

  • Let $CS_\alpha(\beta)$ denote the class of normalized strongly $\alpha$-close-to-convex functions of order $\beta$, defined in the open unit disk $\cal{U}$ of $\mathbb{C}$${\mid}arg{(1-{\alpha})\frac{f(z)}{g(z)}+{\alpha}\frac{zf'(z)}{g(z)}}{\mid}\;\leq\frac{\pi}{2}{\beta}(\alpha,\beta\geq0)$ such that $g\; \in\;S^{\ask}$, the class of normalized starlike unctions. In this paper, we obtain the sharp Fekete-Szego inequalities for functions belonging to $CS_\alpha(\beta)$.

  • This paper deals with the development of biomechanical model on a seat with backrest support in the vertical direction. Four kinds of biomechanical models are discussed to depict human motion. One DOF model mainly describes z-axis motion of hip, two and three DOF models describe z-axis of hip and head, and while nine DOF model suggested in this study represents more motion than the otehr model. Three kinds of experiments were executed to validate these models. The first one was to measure the acceleration of the floor and hip surface in z-axis, the back surface in x-axis, and the head in z-axis under exciter. From this measurement, the transmissiblities of each subject were obtained. The second one was the measurement of the joint position by the device having pointer and the measurement of contact position between the human body and the seat by body pressure distribution. The third one was the measurement of the seat and back cushion by dummy. The biomechanical model parameters were obtained by matching the simulated to the experimental transmissiblities at the hip, back, and head.

  • A functional central limit theorem is obtained for a stationary multivariate linear process of the form $X_t=\sum\limits_{u=0}^\infty{A}_{u}Z_{t-u}$, where {$Z_t$} is a sequence of strictly stationary m-dimensional linearly positive quadrant dependent random vectors with $E Z_t = 0$ and $E{\parallel}Z_t{\parallel}^2 <{\infty}$ and {$A_u$} is a sequence of coefficient matrices with $\sum\limits_{u=0}^\infty{\parallel}A_u{\parallel}<{\infty}$ and $\sum\limits_{u=0}^\infty{A}_u{\neq}0_{m{\times}m}$.

  • The mass function of massive high-z clusters is extremely sensitive to the cosmological parameters. However, it is challenging to estimate their accurate masses. The "See Change" HST programme offers a rare opportunity to measure them using weak gravitational lensing. In this talk, we study SPT-CL J0205-5829 (z=1.322) and MOO1014+0038 (z=1.24) discovered in the SPT-SZ survey and MaDCoW Survey, respectively. We perform weak lensing analysis with the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) and Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) images by carefully taking into account the instrumental effect. We successfully detect weak lensing signals which produce cluster masses consistent with those from non-lensing methods based on hydrostatic equilibrium.

  • Static mixer consists of a straight pipe of circular cross section into which individual elements are inserted to cut, fold, twist and re-combine the mixing fluid. The number of elements and their shape required in any application depend on the complexity of the mixing process. The objectives of this study are to develop a new static mixer and to perform the experimental investigation of pressure drop in order to evaluate the performance of the new one. The mixing fluid used is Glycerin. The pressure drop is measured using a hydraulic manometer and the correlation of Z-factor is suggested as a function of Re. The Z-factors of SSC and YNU mixer are about 40% lower than and 4% higher than that of the Sulzer one.

  • In this paper we obtain a very general theorem of $\rho$-compatibility for three multivalued mappings, one of them from the class $\mathfrak{B}$. More exactly, we show that given a G-convex space Y, two topological spaces X and Z, a (binary) relation $\rho$ on $2^Z$ and three mappings P : X $\multimap$ Z, Q : Y $\multimap$ Z and $T\;{\in}\;\mathfrak{B}$(Y,X) satisfying a set of conditions we can find ($\widetilde{x},\;\widetilde{y}$) ${\in}$ $X\;{\times}\;Y$ such that $\widetilde{x}\;{\in}\;T(\widetilde{y})$ and $P(\widetilde{x}){\rho}\;Q(\widetilde{y})$. Two particular cases of this general result will be then used to establish existence theorems for the solutions of some general equilibrium problems.
