Preparation and Characterization of New NiO-ZrO2/WO3 Catalyst for Ethylene Dimerization (에틸렌 이량화를 위한 새로운 NiO-ZrO2/WO3촉매의 제조와 특성)

  • A series of catalysts, $NiO-ZrO_2/WO_3$, for ethylene dimerization were prepared by coprecipitation from a solution of nickel chloride - zirconium oxychloride mixture followed by dry impregnation with an aqueous solution of ammonium metatungstate and calcination in air. On the basis of the results obtained from x-ray diffraction and DSC, the addition of NiO and $WO_3$ to $ZrO_2$ shifted the transition of $ZrO_2$ from amorphous to a tetragonal phase toward higher temperatures due to the interaction between NiO(or $WO_3$) and $ZrO_2$. $NiO-ZrO_2$ without $WO_3$ was inactive for the ethylene dimerization, but $NiO-ZrO_2/WO_3$ was found to be very active even at room temperature. The high catalytic activity of $NiO-ZrO_2/WO_3$ was closely correlated with the increase of acid strength by the inductive effect of $WO_3$.

  • Widely used dielectrics, barium titanate was promising material for ceramic capacitor. It was produced by specific formulation with various dopants-La2O3, ZrO2, SnO2, CaZrO3, CaTiO3, CaSnO3, Bi2O3, and etc.-according to demanded properties of capacitor. In this study, we would examinate the study of dielectric properties and temperatuer characteristics (T.C.) with the amount of Bi2O3. The sample was prepared with [BaTiO3]10+[BaZrO3, SnO2, La2O3, ZrO2]10 and Bi2O3 varied from 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 to 3.0wt%. After milling and mixing for 15hrs, each sample was dried and then pressed at 700kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ into pellets. Pellets were fired at 131$0^{\circ}C$, for 3hrs in air. As the result of measurements, dielectric constant, break down voltage, and insulation resistance were increased with the amount of Bi2O3, and the resonant frequency was shifted from high frequency to low frequency range. In the case of temperature characteristics, capacitance change rate was symmetrically changed at -$25^{\circ}C$ and +85$^{\circ}C$ respectively. Therefore, it is recognized that the temperature characteristics can be moderated with doping Bi2O3 in our study.

  • The effect of$ZrO_2$addition on the microstructure and electrical properties of Ni-Mn oxide NTC thermistors was studied. Major phases present in the sintered bodies of $Ni_{1.0}Mn_{2-x}Zr_xO_4$ were the solid solutions of Ni-Mn-Zr oxides with a cubic spinel structure and the $ZrO_2$ with a tetragonal structure. The $ZrO_2$ was formed by the partial decomposition or incomplete formation of the Ni-Mn-Zr oxides during sintering. With increasing the amount of added $ZrO_2$, the $ZrO_2$ phase increased. The relationship between log resistivity (log p) and the reciprocal of absolute temperature (1/T) of the NTC thermistors prepared was linear, indicative of NTC characteristics. The resistivity, B constant and activation energy of the thermistors increased with increasing $ZrO_2$ content.

  • It was possible to grow the $Al_{2}O_{3}$ based $Y_{3}A_{5}O_{12}(YAG),ZrO_{2}$ binary and ternary eutectic fibers using micro-pulling down method with a growing rate of 0.1~15 mm/min. While $Al_{2}O_{3}/ZrO_{2}$ showed cellular-lamellar structure, $Al_{2}O_{3}$/YAG and $Al_{2}O_{3}$/YAG/$ZrO_{2}$ternary eutectic fibers showed homogeneous Chinese script lamellar structures. The microstructures of $Al_{2}O_{3}/ZrO_{2}$ binary eutectic fibers changed with solidification rate from lamellar pattern to cellular structure. The interlamellar spacing agreed with the inverse-square-root dependance on pulling rate according to $\lambda$=$kv_p\;{-1/2}$. $Al_{2}O_{3}/ZrO_{2}$ binary eutectic fibers recorded the highest tensile strength of about 1560MPa at room temperature. $Al_2O_3/YAG/ZrO_2$ternary eutectic fiber showed excellent thermal stability to $1200^{\circ}C$ without significant decrease. The maximum strength of ternary eutectic fibers recorded were 1100MPa at $25^{\circ}C$ and 970MPa at $1200^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • $Al_2O_3/ZrO_2$ composites were fabricated by pressureless sintering from commercial powders and/or nano composite powder of $Al_2O_3/ZrO_2$. The Properties of the composites such as density, strength, hardness and fracture toughness were evaluated. Microstructures and fracture surfaces ware also examined. The flexural strength remains unchanged(~640 MPa) as long as the content of commercial powders is not extreamly high, and depends on microstructures of the composites. Fracture toughness(4.3-5.3 $Mpa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$) increases with increasing content of commercial powders. Fractography shows that failure-initiating sources are 1)surface flaws resulting from machining damage, 2)crack-shaped voids formed due to $ZrO_2$ agglomeration, and 3)surface separation caused by inhomogeneous blending and by sinterability difference between nato composite powder and commercial powders of $Al_2O_3/ZrO_2$. Failure mode of the composites was mainly transgranular.

  • 정방정형 지르코니아를 상온에서 안정화시키는 이트리아와, 지르코니아의 저온 열화을 억제하고 파괴강도의 증가에 기여하는 알루미나를 YAG(5Al$_2$O$_3$.3Y$_2$O$_3$) 졸의 형태로 m-ZrO$_2$와 알루미나의 혼합 slurry에 첨가하여, m-ZrO$_2$를 yttria 안정화 지르코니아로의 in situ 변환과 동시에 알루미나의 분산도를 향상시키고자 하였다. 20wt% 알루미나-지르코니아(YSZ)의 복합체 (20ATZ)를 1450$^{\circ}$~150$0^{\circ}C$에서 상압소결하여 0.5$mu extrm{m}$ 이하의 균일한 미세구조로 얻었다. 이 복합체는 정방정형 지르코니아와 $\alpha$-알루미나 상으로만 이루어지었고, 소결밀도 >99% TD이었다. 제조된 복합체의 파괴강도는 810 MPa로, 고상법으로 $Al_2$O$_3$와 3Y-ZrO$_2$분말로부터 제조된 시편의 682 MPa 보다 약 20% 향상되었고, 파괴인성은 5.52 MPa.m$^{1}$2/로 고상법으로 제조된 시편의 5.39 MPa.m$^{1}$2/과 비슷하였다.

용액 공정 기반 ZrO2 절연막을 사용한 IGZO 박막 트랜지스터의 전기적 특성 향상 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 용액 공정 기반 ZrO2 절연막의 우수한 특성을 확인하기 위해 SiO2 절연막을 가지는 IGZO (Indium-Gallium-Zinc Oxide) 박막 트랜지스터와 비교했다. In:Ga:Zn=1:1:1의 비율의 0.3 M IGZO 용액과 0.2 M ZrO2용액을 사용하였다. ZrO2 박막 트랜지스터는 0.2M ZrO2 용액을 5번 반복 증착하며 140nm 두께의 ZrO2 절연막을 가지는 IGZO 박막 트랜지스터와 비교대상으로 동일한 두께의 SiO2의 절연막을 가지는 IGZO 박막 트랜지스터를 제작하였다. ZrO2 박막 트랜지스터의 문턱전압은 4.3V로 SiO2 박막 트랜지스터의 -6.1V보다 낮았고, 이동도는 $1.2356cm^2/V{\cdot}s$$0.0554cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ 보다 약 20배 높았다. 실험 결과를 통해 ZrO2를 절연막으로 사용한 박막 트랜지스터의 특성이 더 향상되었음을 확인하였다.

  • In this study, we investigated $Li_2ZrO_3$ membrane as a candidate material for high-temperature $CO_2$ separation and evaluated mechanical property. $Li_2ZrO_3$ powder was synthesized by solid state reaction of $Li_2CO_3\;and\;ZrO_2$. Then we fabricated $Li_2ZrO_3$ tape using tape casting method. Dense $Li_2ZrO_3$ membrane prepared by sintering at $1600^{\circ}C$ for 2 h after pressing $Li_2ZrO_3$ tape using lamination machine. Mechanical properties before and after $CO_2$ absorption of fabricated $Li_2ZrO_3$ membrane such as Hertzian indentation, Victors hardness and 3-point bending testing were evaluated.

  • [ $Pt/CeO_2$ ] 촉매에 Zr을 첨가하여 우수한 저온 수성가스전화반응의 활성을 가진 촉매를 만들었다. $Pt/ZrO_2-CeO_2$ 촉매는 $Pt/ZrO_2$$Pt/CeO_2$ 촉매에 비해 Ce와 Zr의 상호작용에 의한 시너지 효과로 인해 CO chemisorption으로 측정한 Pt area가 증가하고 담체에 Pt가 잘 분산되었다. 또한, Zr이 첨가된 $Pt/CeO_2$는 Ce의 redox 능력을 향상시켜 support의 reducibility를 향상시켰다. 담체에 고르게 잘 분산되고 support의 산소저장능력과 reducibility가 향상된 $3\;wt\%\;Pt/ZrO_2-CeO_2$ 촉매들은 반응물에 수소와 이산화탄소의 첨가 유무와 상관없이 $3\;wt\%\;Pt/ZrO_2$$3\;wt\%\;Pt/CeO_2$ 촉매보다 우수한 활성을 보였다.

Annealing Temperature Dependence on Anodizing Properties of ZrO2/Al Films Prepared by Sol-gel Method (졸-겔법으로 제조된 ZrO2/Al막의 열처리 온도에 따른 양극산화 특성)

  • Anodic oxide films on aluminum play an important role as a dielectrics in aluminum electrolytic capacitor. In order to obtain the high capacitance, ZrO$_2$ films were coated on aluminum foils by sol-gel method and then, the properties of anodized films were studied. The coating and drying of the films were repeated 4-10 times and annealed at 300~$600^{\circ}C$ and the triple layer of ZrO$_2$/Al-ZrO$_{x}$ /Al$_2$O$_3$ was formed onto aluminum substrates after anodizing of ZrO$_2$/Al film. The thickness of $Al_2$O$_3$ layer was decreased with increasing the annealing temperature due to the densification of ZrO$_2$ film. The ZrO$_2$ films were crystallized even at 30$0^{\circ}C$ and showed nanocrystalline structure. The. capacitance of aluminum foil annealed at low temperature was higher than that at high temperature. The increase of capacitance was due to the high capacitance of ZrO$_2$ film annealed at low temperature. The capacitance of ZrO$_2$ coated aluminum increased about 3 times compared to that without a ZrO$_2$ layer after anodizing to 400 V. From these results, the aluminum foils with composite oxide layers are found to be applicable to the aluminum electrolytic capacitor.
