A Fine Motion Mechanism of Dual Servo Control for Ultraprecision Positioning (초정밀 위치 결정을 위한 이중 서보 제어용 미세 구동 메카니즘)

  • In order to respond to the increasing demands of ultraprecision positioning mechanism in the field of precision engineering, more accurate stages are needed whose positioning uncertainty should be in the unprecedented level of nanometers, while maintaining a long travek range. For this application, most conventional stage mechanisms are found not suitable, so the concept of dual servo, which uses two different servos, is one of the new design and control strategies being extensively investigated these days, This paper presents a fine motion mechanism as a part of research on the dual servo control. The stage is made of a single structure of elastic flexure, whose xy .theta. motions are induced in the form of elastic deformation activated by three piezoelectric actuators. Experimental results show that the translational and rotational motions of the stage can be controlled with resolutions of 5 nm and 0.1 arcsec, respectively.

  • In recent years, it has been variously developed for testing the accuracy of circular motion of NC machine tools, for example Telescoping Ball Bar Method by Bryan,Circular Test Method by Knapp and r $_{- \theta}$ Mathod by Tsutsumi etc., but it is not yet settled in the code of measuring methods of motion errors of NC machine tools, because of errors of measuring units and sensors, and also especially the difficulties of centering of measuring units. In this paper, in use of magnetic type linear scale with resolution of 0.5 .mu. m and tick pulses come out from computer, it has become possible for detecting of linear displacement of radial errors and measuring of revolution angle of circular motion of NC machine tools.

  • Al-Pb-Cu and Al-Si-Pb-Cu bearing alloys were produced by forced-stirring method and water-cooled copper mold casting to investigate the effect of the precipitation hardening on the wear properties. Sliding of produced alloy pin against a steel disc were performed under various applied loads. Lowering the wear rate and material transfer phenomena were explained by the strengthening of $\theta'$ precipitates on AI matrix. The transmission electron microscope observation reveals the role of the precipitates in the alloys with Cu. The movement of dislocations was hindered by precipitates which resulted in the reduction of plastic deformation at the worn surfaces.

  • The objectives of this study is at the development of the channel routing model which can be used for flood prediction. Among the routing models, the hydraulic technique of the implicit scheme in the dynamic equation is selected to route the unsteady varied flow in the open channel. The channel routing model is catchment runoff which computed by the conceptual and transfer function model. The conceptual and transfer function model can simulate the catchment runoff accurately. As a result of investigating the channel routing model, the optimal weighting factor ${\theta}$ which fixes two points between time line is chosen, and also, the optimal error tolerance which satisfies computing time and converge of solution is determined in this study.

  • 방수로는 홍수 피해 경감을 사용되는 구조적 대책으로 최근 국내에서 널리 계획되고 있다. 이러한 방수로는 대체로 보통 횡월류위어 등으로 대표되는 유입부 구조물을 통하여 본류에 연결되지만, 평상시에도 본류의 유량을 일부 분담하는 형태로 설계되는 젖은 하도(wet channel) 형태의 방수로는 별도의 유입부 구조물을 설치하지 않고 바로 본류에 연결되는 것이 일반적인 형태이다. 일반적으로 유입부 구조물을 통해 연결되는 방수로의 특성은 유입부 구조물의 수리학적인 특성에 의해서 많이 좌우된다. 이에 반해 젖은 하도 형태의 방수로는 방수로의 폭(W), 방수로 유입되는 흐름의 유입각$(\theta)$등에 의해서 많이 좌우되며, 만약 설계된 방수로의 횡단면 형상이 사다리꼴 또는 직사각형 단면을 따른다면 이러한 흐름은 '제한된 영위어고 횡월류위어 흐름(restricted zero-height side weir flow)'으로 분류할 수 있다. 이러한 조건에서의 흐름은 일반적인 횡월류위어에서의 흐름과 상당히 다른 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 방수로 분기 조건을 다양하게 구현할 수 있는 실험 수로를 설치하여 방수로 폭을 변화시키면서 실험을 수행하였으며, 분기 조건의 변화에 따른 분수로 유입부분에서의 수리학적특성을 분석하였다.

An Investigation of the Dehydroxylation of Kaolinite Using Energy-Filtering Transmission Electron Microscopy (에너지여과 투과전자현미경을 이용한 카올리나이트의 탈수반응 연구)

  • The dehydroxylation of kaolinite was investigated in detail by means of energy-filtering transmission electron microscope with both orientations parallel and perpendicular to c. The dehydroxylation could be characterized by the broad background including (0.211) band (20~24$^{\circ}$ 2$\theta$) on X-ray diffraction and by the three halo rings (d-spacing : 3.28~4.40$\AA$ (near (02,11) band), 2.41~245$\AA$ (near (20,13) band), 1.16~1.23$\AA$ (near (0.8,44) band)), and (02,11) and (20,13) spots on electron diffraction. These indicate existence of a short-range order along the a and b axes. Interplanar spacing of (001) is reduced to about 6.86$\AA$ and the sharp additional intensity maximum of about 14.2$\AA$ reveals that metakaolinite has a modulated structure along c axis. It is proposed that the modulated structure is attributed to the domains consisting of more than two-layers due to the changes of positions of the vacant octahedral sites in successive layers.

  • The objective of this paper is to study if the EEG spectral relative power would be a reasonable measure of expertise level. EEG electrodes were placed on the locations of Fp1, Fp2, F3, F4, T3, T4, O1, O2 while 5 subjects were playing 4 kinds of game on PC. EEG spectral relative power was significantly related with expertise level on the locations of Fp1, T3, T4, O1, O2. And the results showed that the $\theta$ and $\alpha$ activities were decreased, while $\beta$ and $\gamma$ activities were increased. The results indicated that the EEG spectral relative power would be applicable as a quantitative measure of expertise level.

  • 통상적으로 전기기기에 사용되는 전기강판의 자기특성은 B-H 자기특성 곡선을 이용하여 표현되어졌고, 이를 이용하여 전기기기의 자계 분포 해석 및 특성 해석이 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 실제로 전기기기의 전기강판은 인가 자계의 방향에 따라 자기특성이 다르게 나타나고, 자속밀도와 자계세기의 방향이 다르게 나타나는 벡터 자기특성을 가지기 때문에, B-H 곡선과 같은 스칼라 자기 특성으로 전기강판의 자기 특성을 정확히 표현하는 것이 불가능하다. 따라서 전기기기의 정확한 자계 해석 및 특성 해석을 위해서는 전기강판의 벡터 자기특성이 반드시 고려되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 전기강판의 벡터 자기특성이 전기기기의 자계 분포 해석에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하며, 전기강판의 벡터 자기특성의 고려를 위해 ($B_m,\theta_B$)법을 이용하였으며 간단한 형태의 단상 변압기 모델에 유한요소 해석을 적용하였다.

Turbulent boundary layer control via electro-magnetic forces (전자기력을 이용한 난류경계층 제어)

  • Direct numerical simulations are peformed to investigate the physics of a spatially developing turbulent boundary layer flow suddenly subjected to spanwise oscillating electro-magnetic forces in the near-wall region. The Reynolds number based on the inlet momentum thickness and free-stream velocity is $Re_\theta=300$. A fully-implicit fractional step method is employed to simulate the flow. The mean flow properties and the Reynolds stresses are obtained to analyze the near-wall turbulent structure. It is found that skin-friction and turbulent kinetic energy can be reduced by the electro-magnetic forces. Instantaneous flow visualization techniques are used to observe the response of streamwise vortices to spanwise oscillating forces. The near-wall vortical structures are clearly affected by spanwise oscillating electro-magnetic forces.

  • The film boiling heat transfer was experimentally investigated for the water sprays impacting on an inclined hot surface. Full cone spray nozzles were employed for the spray cooling experiment, and experiments were made for different inclination angles of $\theta=0^{\circ}$, $15^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$. The experimental results show that, in the downstream region of the inclined hot surface, increasing the inclination angle increases the local heat flux slowly because of increasing the number of rebound droplets. However, the inclination angle of heat transfer surface had no remarkable effect on the local heat flux of spray cooling under the present test conditions.
