POSITIVE SOLUTIONS FOR NONLINEAR m-POINT BVP WITH SIGN CHANGING NONLINEARITY ON TIME SCALES

  • In this paper, by using fixed point theorems in cones, the existence of positive solutions is considered for nonlinear m-point boundary value problem for the following second-order dynamic equations on time scales $$u^{{\Delta}{\nabla}}(t)+a(t)f(t,u(t))=0,\;t{\in}(0,T),\;{\beta}u(0)-{\gamma}u^{\Delta}(0)=0,\;u(T)={\sum_{i=1}^{m-2}}\;a_iu({\xi}_i),\;m{\geq}3$$, where $a(t){\in}C_{ld}((0,T),\;[0,+{\infty}))$, $f{\in}C([0,T]{\times}[0,+{\infty}),\;(-{\infty},+{\infty}))$, the nonlinear term f is allowed to change sign. We obtain several existence theorems of positive solutions for the above boundary value problems. In particular, our criteria generalize and improve some known results [15] and the obtained conditions are different from related literature [14]. As an application, an example to demonstrate our results is given.

  • A large majority of clearwell must be modified with maintaining the present baffles since they were underground built with the material like concrete. Therefore it is unreasonable to apply the previous research in clearwell modification which is studied with the assumption that distance between baffles is constant. In this study, internal short-circuiting estimation method (ISEM), which has the advantage of being applied at any condition, is applied to evaluate modification of A clearwell and modify B and C clerwell which have unusual characteristics. After analyzing the hydraulic efficiency at current state, modifications, where baffles, intra basins and diffuser walls are additionally installed, are considered and evaluate using ISEM. And the effect of intra basin and diffuser wall on $T_{10}/T$ is estimated and application feasibility of ISEM is evaluated. The improvement of intra basins is almost same with that of baffles. Also, short-circuiting in effluent zone can be reduced with the same level of channel zone if intra basin is added in effluent zone. However, effect range is restricted to the next channel zone. Diffuser wall can obtain the lower ISI than minimum ISI of cases where baffles and intra basins are installed. Therefore, additional improvement of $T_{10}/T$ value can be expected after $T_{10}/T$ value converges maximum only using baffles

  • 본 연구는 최근 개발되어 국내에 보급하고 있는 Teosinte [Zea mays L. subsp. mexicana (Schrad.) H. H. Iltis] 품종인 극동 6호의 파종시기가 생육특성, 수량성 및 사료가치에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위하여 실시하였다. 파종 시기는 각각 5월 10일(T1), 5월 25일(T2), 6월 10일(T3), 6월 25일(T4) 및 7월 10일(T5)로 하고 수확은 10월 22일 동일 날짜에 하였다. 따라서 재배기간은 T1, T2, T3, T4 및 T5구가 각각 164, 149, 134, 119, 103일로 난괴법 5처리 3반복으로 실시하였다. 초장과 고사엽은 T1구에서(p<0.05), 엽폭과 엽수는 T2구에서 유의적으로 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 그러나 엽장, 경의 굵기 및 분얼수는 처리 간 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 경경도는 T1(2.0)> T2(1.9) > T3, T4(1.7) > T5($1.2kg/cm^2$) 순으로 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 생초 및 건물수량은 파종시기가 빠르고 재배 기간이 길었던 T1 > T2 > T3 > T4 > T5 순으로 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 조단백질, 조지방 및 TDN 함량은 T5가 다른 구에 비하여 유의적으로 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 그러나 ADF 및 NDF 함량은 T1구에서 높게 나타났다 (p<0.05). 조단백질 수량은 T1, T2 및 T3구 사이에는 유의적인 차이가 없었지만, T4 및 T5구에서는 유의적으로 낮게 나타났다(p<0.05). TDN 수량은 T1 > T2 > T3 > T4 > T5구 순으로 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 그러나 사료가치는 T5 > T4 > T3 >T2 > T1 구 순으로, 파종시기가 늦고 재배기간이 짧을수록 유의적으로 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 당 성분들에 있어서는 당도, Fructose, Glucose, Isomerose, Inverted sugar 성분에서는 처리 간에 유의적인 차이가 없었다. 그러나 Dextran 성분은 T5구에서 만유의적으로 낮은 수치를 보였다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 극동 6호의 파종 시기는 5월 상순에서 하순사이에 파종하여 약 150일 이상 재배한 후 수확하는 것이 건물수량과 영양수량 생산에 유리한 것으로 판단된다.

감귤부산물 급여가 닭고기의 이화학적 특성 및 관능적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Feeding of Citrus Byproducts on Physicochemical and Sensory Characteristics of Chicken Meat)

  • 본 연구는 감귤부산물 첨가 사료를 급여한 닭고기의 이화학적 특성 및 관능적 특성을 검토하기 위하여 실시하였다. 닭고기는 초기, 중기 및 후기 모두 감귤부산물을 첨가하지 않은 육계용 배합사료로 사육한 T-0, 그리고 초기($1{\sim}9$일), 중기($10{\sim}24$일) 및 후기($25{\sim}36$일) 사료에 감귤부산물을 각각 1.0%, 1.5% 및 2.0%를 첨가하여 급여한 T-1으로 구분하였다. 감귤부산물을 급여한 다리살(T-1)의 $L^*$값(명도)은 급여하지 않은 것(T-0)보다 낮았으며, $a^*$값(적색도)은 T-1이 T-0보다 유의하게 높았다. 그러나 $b^*$값(황색도)은 감귤부산물 급여의 영향이 없었다. 보수력은 다리살의 경우 T-1이 T-0보다 높았으며, 가열감량은 T-1이 T-0보다 낮았고 (p<0.05), 동결감량 및 해동감량은 감귤부산물 급여의 영향이 없었다. 경도, 탄성, 응집성, 뭉침성, 저작성 및 전단력은 감귤부산물 급여의 영향이 없었다. 산가는 T-0가 T-1보다 높았으며, 과산화물가는 감귤부산물 급여의 영향이 없었다. 항산화력은 T-1이 T-0보다 유의하게 높았다(p<0.05). 닭고기 열수추출물의 유리아미노산 함량, 맛, 풍미, 연도, 다즙성 및 전체적인 기호성은 감귤부산물 급여의 영향이 없었다.

우육포의 품질에 영향을 미치는 연잎추출물 첨가효과 (Adding Effect of Lotus Leaf Extract on the Quality of Beef Jerky)

  • 본 연구는 연잎추출물이 우육포의 품질특성에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 우육포는 물 100 mL 첨가(T0), 물 60 mL와 연잎추출물 40 mL 첨가(T1), 물 40 mL와 연잎추출물 60 mL 첨가(T2) 그리고 연잎추출물 100 mL 첨가(T3)한 것 등 네 종류를 제조하였다. 우육포의 수분, 단백질, 지방 및 회분은 시료들 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 총 유리아미노산함량은 T0가 가장 높고, T3가 가장 낮았다(p<0.05). 표면색깔 중 L- 및 b-value는 시료들 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었지만 a-value는 T3가 가장 높았다(p<0.05). 경도, 탄성, 응집성, 뭉침성 및 씹힘성은 시료들 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 수분활성도 및 pH는 시료들 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었다. TBARS값 및 총균수는 T0 및 T1보다 T2 및 T3가 유의하게 낮았다(p<0.05). VBN함량은 T3가 가장 낮았다(p<0.05). 풍미, 맛, 조직감, 다즙성 및 전체적인 기호성은 시료들 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었지만 색깔은 T3가 가장 우수하였다(p<0.05).

Sea fog detection near Korea peninsula by using GMS-5 Satellite Data(A case study)

  • The aim of our study is to develop new algorism for sea fog detection by using Geostational Meteorological Satellite-5(GMS-5) and suggest the techniques of its continuous detection. So as to detect daytime sea fog/stratus(00UTC, May 10, 1999), visible accumulated histogram method and surface albedo method are used. The characteristic value during daytime showed A(min) > 20% and DA < 10% when visble accumulated histogram method was applied. And the sea fog region which detected is of similarity in composite image and surface albedo method. In case of nighttime sea fog(18UTC, May 10, 1999), infrared accumulated histogram method and maximum brightness temperature method are used, respectively. Maximum brightness temperature method(T_max method) detected sea fog better than IR accumulated histogram method. In case of T_max method, when infrared value is larger than T_max, fog is detected, where T_max is an unique value, maximum infrared value in each pixel during one month. Then T_max is beneath 700hpa temperature of GDAPS(Global Data Assimilation and Prediction System). Sea fog region which detected by T_max method was similar to the result of National Oceanic and Atmosheric Administration/Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (NOAA/AVHRR) DCD(Dual Channel Difference). But inland visibility and relative humidity didn't always agreed well.

포도과피 첨가가 분쇄돈육의 이화학적·관능적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Grape Skin on Physicochemical and Sensory Characteristics of Ground Pork Meat)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of grape skin on the physicochemical properties and sensory score of ground pork meat. Methods: Four types of ground pork were evaluated: T0 without grape skin, T1 with 0.3% grape skin, T2 with 0.7% grape skin, and T3 with 1.0% grape skin. Results: There was no significant group wise difference in VBN content, L-value, b-value, chemical composition of raw and cooked meat, cooking yield, water holding capacity, moisture retention, fat retention, hardness, springiness, cohesiveness, gumminess, chewiness, taste, texture, juiciness, or palatability. Total polyphenol content was highest in T3, and DPPH radical scavenging activity was highest in T2 and T3 (p<0.001). The pH was highest in T0, and was lowest in T3 (p<0.001). The a-value of T2 and T3 were significantly higher than that of T0 (p<0.05). Flavor was highest in T2 among samples (p<0.01). Conclusion: The study results suggest that grape skin may be a useful ingredient in ground pork meat in terms of antioxidant potential, color and flavor.

TWIN POSITIVE SOLUTIONS OF FUNCTIONAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS FOR THE ONE-DIMENSIONAL ρ-LAPLACIAN

  • For the boundary value problem (BVP) of second order functional differential equations for the one-dimensional $\rho$-Laplaclan: ($\Phi$$_{\rho}$(y'))'(t)+m(t)f(t, $y^{t}$ )=0 for t$\in$[0,1], y(t)=η(t) for t$\in$[-$\sigma$,0], y'(t)=ξ(t) for t$\in$[1,d], suitable conditions are imposed on f(t, $y^{t}$ ) which yield the existence of at least two positive solutions. Our result generalizes the main result of Avery, Chyan and Henderson.

청주지방(淸州地方)의 시청명지수(時淸明指數)와 산란비(散亂比)와의 관계(關係)(II) (Relationship between Hourly Clearness Index and Diffuse Ratio at Cheongju Area(II))

  • The estimation of beam radiation intensity on a tilted surface is very important to the design of a solar energy system. In order to get the beam radiation intensity, it is required to calculate the ratio of the diffuse solar radiation to the global radiation ($k_d$). The data measured at Chung-Buk National University. Cheong-ju, (from May 16, 1985 to Nov, 10, 1987) were analysed to define the relationship between hourly clearness index ($k_t$) and diffuse ratio ($t_d$). The results are is follow: 1. The percent of clearness index($k_t$) of less than 0.3 and of more than 0.8 were 2.7% and 3.1% respectively, and between 0.5 and 0.8 was 76.5%. 2. The regression equation between $k_t$ and $k_d$ was an exponential function as: $$k_d=\[{1\hspace{120}:\hspace{10}(k_t<0.1)\\1.28{\times}0.074^{k_t}\hspace{30}:\hspace{10}(0.1{\leq}=k_t<0.9)\\0.12\hspace{98}:\hspace{10}(0.9{\leq}=k_t)$$ There was a little difference between the result. of this study based on the data of 30 months and the results of previous study (ITRA 2(1):42-47, 1986.) based on the data of 8 months. 3. The hourly exponential regression equation between $k_t$ and $k_d$ was $k_d=A{\times}8^{k_t}$ and the values of constant A and coefficient B of the: equations are as the following table; 4. The percent of $k_d$ of less than 0.4 was 72.9% and of more than 0.7 was 6.6%. 5. Total mean value of $k_t$ and $k_d$ wert 0.56 and 0.32, respectively. From 10:00 to 15:00 o'clock the total mean value of $k_t$ was smaller that the hourly man value of $k_t$ and the one or $k_d$ larger.

An Integrated Framework for Modeling the Influential Factors Affecting the Use of Voice-Enabled IoT Devices: A Case Study of Amazon Echo

  • Purpose: The application of IoT is finding continuous acceptance in our daily lives, particularly, smart speakers are making life easier and convenient for consumers. This research aims to develop and test an integrated model of factors influencing consumer's adoption of voice-enabled IoT devices. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the VAM, an integrated voice-enabled IoT device adoption model is proposed. Gender differences on five constructs relating with perceived value (perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, perceived security risk, perceived technicality and perceived cost) was also examined through PLS-MGA technique. The usage experience of consumers was also controlled in the integrated VAM. Findings: Result shows that Perceived-Usefulness, Perceived-Enjoyment and Perceived-Cost have a strong effect on Perceived-Value. However, Perceived-Technicality and Perceived-Security-Risk are non-influential and have no significant effect on PV. Additionally, Perceived-Value and Social-Influence plays a significant role in predicting adoption intention. Gender differences also exist in consumers perception of usefulness, enjoyment and cost. In comparison to the basic value-based adoption model, the integrated model provides more insight on consumers adoption of voice-enabled IoT devices. Originality/value: Using an integrated model, this study is one of the first scholarly attempt at modelling the influential factors for adopting smart speakers i.e., voice-enabled IoT devices, with implications for improved adoption.
