Sr4Al14O25 형광체의 합성과 발광특성 (Synthesis and Luminescent Characteristics of Sr4Al14O25 Phosphor)

  • $Sr_{4}Al_{14}O_{25}$ was synthesized by solid state reaction with flux. $H_{3}BO_3$ was used to synthesize $SrO-Al_{2}O_{3}$ phosphor system as a flux. The effect of doping system such as Eu+Dy, Eu, and Ce on the luminescent properties of $Sr_{4}Al_{14}O_{25}$ was investigated. Both PL spectra of $Sr_{4}Al_{14}O_{25}$:Eu and $Sr_{4}Al_{14}O_{25}$:Eu+Dy excited at 390 nm showed greenish-blue emission at about 490 nm, while the emission wavelength was shifted to 400 nm by doping Ce. The reduction of $Eu^{3+}$ ions to $Eu^{2+}$ could be accomplished by the annealing process under $N_{2}^{+}$ vacuum atmosphere, and attributed to the emission at 490 nm. It is verified that $Sr_{4}Al_{14}O_{25}$:Eu phosphor is suitable for white LEDs became of a broad absorption band peaking at 390 nm.

  • Long-lasting brightness $Sr_{4}Al_{14}O_{25}$ : $Eu^{2+}$, $Dy^{3+}$, $Ag^{+}$ phosphor was synthesized by modified solid state reaction and its photoluminescence was investigated. $Sr(NO_3)_{2}$ and $Al(NO_3)_3{\cdot}9H_{2}O$ as starting materials, and $B_{2}O_{3}$ as a flux were mixed with $Eu_{2}O_{3}$ as an activator, $Dy_{2}O_{3}$ as a coactivator, and $AgNO_{3}$ as a charge compensator. The crystalline of target powder showed a single-phase $Sr_{4}Al_{14}O_{25}$ by the XRD characterization and the average particle size was about 20-30 ${\mu}m$ from the FE-SEM observation. $Ag^{+}$ ion doping effects (0-0.06 mol) on $Sr_{4}Al_{14}O_{25}:Eu^{2+},\;Dy^{3+},\;Ag^{+}$ phosphor were measured by photoluminescence spectrometer and luminescence meter. The of photoluminescence intensity of the $Sr_{3.64}Al_{14}O_{25}:Eu_{0.11},\;Dy_{0.22},\;Ag_{0.03}$ phosphor was higher than other compositions and afterglow brightness was 0.186 $cd/m^{2}$.

  • Phosphorescent materials coated with titanium dioxide were fabricated and photocatalytic reactions between these materials and VOCs gases were examined. A thin film (approx. 100 nm) of nanosized $TiO_2$ was deposited on the $Sr_4Al_{14}O_{25}$ : $Eu^{2+}$, $Dy^{3+}$, $Ag^+$ phosphor using low-pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD). The characteristics of the photocatalytic reaction were examined in terms of the decomposition of benzene gas using a gas chromatography (GC) system under ultraviolet (${\lambda}$ = 365 nm) and visible light (${\lambda}$ > 420 nm) irradiation. $TiO_2$-coated $Sr_4Al_{14}O_{25}$ : $Eu^{2+}$, $Dy^{3+}$, $Ag^+$ phosphor showed different photocatalytic behavior compared with pure $TiO_2$. $TiO_2$-coated phosphorescent materials showed a much faster photocatalytic decomposition of benzene gas under visible irradiation compared to the pure $TiO_2$ for which the result was practically negligible. This suggests that the extension of the absorption wavelength to visible light occurred through energy band bending by a heterojunction at the interface of the $Sr_4Al_{14}O_{25}-TiO_2$ composite. Also, the $Sr_4Al_{14}O_{25}-TiO_2$ composite showed the photocatalytic decomposition of benzene in darkness due to the photon light emitted from the $Sr_4Al_{14}O_{25}$ phosphors.

  • A spherical $Sr_4Al_{14}O_{25}:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor for use in white-light-emitting diodes was synthesized using a liquid-state reaction with two precipitation stages. For the formation of phosphor from a precursor, the calcination temperature was $1,100^{\circ}C$. The particle morphology of the phosphor was changed by controlling the processing conditions. The synthesized phosphor particles were spherical with a narrow size-distribution and had mono-dispersity. Upon excitation at 395 nm, the phosphor exhibited an emission band centered at 497 nm, corresponding to the $4f^65d{\rightarrow}4f^7$ electronic transitions of $Eu^{2+}$. The critical quenching-concentration of $Eu^{2+}$ in the synthesized $Sr_4Al_{14}O_{25}:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor was 5 mol%. A phosphor-converted LED was fabricated by the combination of the optimized spherical phosphor and a near-UV 390 nm LED chip. When this pc-LED was operated under various forward-bias currents at room temperature, the pc-LED exhibited a bright blue-green emission band, and high color-stability against changes in input power. Accordingly, the prepared spherical phosphor appears to be an excellent candidate for white LED applications.

  • The effect of excitation energy and various dopants(Eu and Ce) on the emission wavelength and intensity were investigated. According to PL spectra, SrO-$Al_2O_3$ phosphors had wide absorption band at nUV. By substituting Ce for Eu, the emission band and excitation wavelength were shifted to shorter wavelength. Ce doped $SrAl_2O_4$ and $Sr_4Al_{14}O_{25}$ showed greenish blue(475nm) and blue(400nm), respectively.

  • We have synthesized some phosphors in the system MO-$Al_2O_3-SiO_2$(M=Sr, Ba) by combinatorial polymerized-complex method. Composition and synthetic temperature of phosphors in the liblary was screened from the emission intensities of individual samples under 365nm excitation. As we were screened the higher luminescent candidate composition (or candidate host lattice) at 365nm excitation, investigated whether good radiation was possible at the 405 or 465nm excitation by give the host lattice to be discovered more various change. From libraries about 2 systems, the compound to be expected in long wavelength among the compound to be screened are $Sr_4Al_{14}O_{25}$, $Sr_3Al_2O_6$, $SrAl_2Si_2O_8$, and $BaAl_2Si_2O_8$.

  • 백색 LED를 실현하는 방법의 하나로 UV LED와 적, 녹, 청의 3색 형광체를 이용하는 방법이 주목받고 있다. 이것은 연색성과 색온도 제어 특성이 뛰어나다. 그러나 기존의 형광체는 단파장, 약 250nm 전후, 에서 여기되는 특성을 갖고 있기 때문에 near UV(nUV), 약 380-410nm, 의 LED에 응용하기에는 발광특성에 문제점을 갖고 있다. 본 연구에서는 nUV 여기가 가능한 strontium aluminate를 flux를 이용한 고상반응법으로 합성하고 발광 특성을 분석하였다. SrO와 A1$_2$ $O_3$의 조합비와 반응조건에 따라서 SrA1$_2$ $O_4$ 흑은 Sr$_4$Al$_{14}$ $O_{25}$ 가 합성되었고, 이들은 도핑과 함께 각각 약 520nm에서의 녹색발광과 약 480nm에서의 청녹색 발광 특성을 보이고 있었다. 도펀트로는 Eu, Dy, Ce, Pr 등이 단독 혹은 혼합되어 첨가되었고, 종류와 양에 따라서 발광 파장의 이동이 관찰 되었고, 강도도 이것에 크게 의존하고 있었다. 또한 발광강도는 여기 파장에도 의존하고 있었으며, 약 350-390nm의 nUV에서 가장 높은 발광강도가 관찰되었다.다.

곤양지역 하상퇴적물에 대한 지구화학적 특성 (Geochemical Characteristics of Stream Sediments in the Konyang Area)

  • 이 연구에서는 곤양지역 하상퇴적물에 대한 지구화학적 특성을 규명하고 환경오염과 지질재해에 대해서 이해하고자 한다. 이를 위해 물이 흐르고 있는 1차 수계를 대상으로 하상퇴적물시료 178개를 채취하였고, 실험실에서 자연건조 시켰다. 시료는 알루미나 몰타르를 이용하여 200메쉬 이하로 분쇄하였고, XRD, XRF, ICP-AES, NAA분석을 실시하였다. 연구지역 하상퇴적물 지질집단별 지구화학적 특성 비교를 위해, 석영반암 지역, 퇴적암류 지역, 아노르도사이트 지역과 편마암류 지역으로 분류하였다. 곤양지역 하상퇴적물의 주성분원소 함량은 $SiO_2\;41.86{\sim}76.74\;wt.%,\;Al_{2}O_{3}\;9.92{\sim}30.00\;wt.%,\;Fe_{2}O_{3}\;2.74{\sim}12.68\;wt.%,\;CaO\;0.22{\sim}3.31\;wt.%\;,MgO\;0.34{\sim}3.97\;wt.%,\;K_{2}O\;0.75{\sim}0.93\;wt.%,\;Na_{2}O\;0.25{\sim}1.92\;wt.%,\;TiO_{2}\;0.40{\sim}3.00\;wt.%,\;MnO\;0.03{\sim}0.21\;wt.%,\;P_{2}O_{5}\;0.05{\sim}0.38\;wt.%$이다. 하상퇴적물의 미량성분원소 및 희토류원소 함량은 $Cu\;7{\sim}102\;ppm,\;Pb\;15{\sim}47\;ppm,\;Sr\;48{\sim}513\;ppm,\;V\;29{\sim}129\;ppm,\;Zr\;31{\sim}217\;ppm,\;Li\;14{\sim}94\;ppm,\;Co\;5.6{\sim}32.1\;ppm,\;Cr\;23{\sim}259\;ppm,\;Cs\;1.7{\sim}8.7\;ppm,\;Hf\;2.1{\sim}109.0\;ppm,\;Rb\;34{\sim}247\;ppm,\;Sc\;4.5{\sim}21.9\;ppm,\;Zn\;24{\sim}609\;ppm,\;Sb;0.8{\sim}2.6\;ppm,\;Th\;3{\sim}213\;ppm,\;Ce\;22{\sim}1000\;ppm,\;Eu;0.7{\sim}5.3\;ppm,\;Yb\;0.6{\sim}6.4\;ppm$의 범위를 보인다.
