Effects of Biomass Application on Soil Carbon Storage and Mitigation of GHGs Emission in Upland

  • This experiment was carried out to find out the mitigation of greenhouse gases (GHGs) emission and changes of soil carbon contents in the cropland. In order to minimize the soil disturbance, this study was conducted without crop cultivation at the pots treated with different biomass. Different biomass was buried in the soil for 12 months. Decomposition rates of expander rice hull, pig manure compost and carbonized rice hull were 18%, 11~11.5% and 0.5~1.2%, respectively. It was appeared that carbonized rice hull was slightly decomposed. No difference was shown between chemical fertilizer treatment plot and non-application plot. It was appeared that soil carbon content in the non chemical fertilizer application plot was high when compared to its chemical fertilizer. Its content at soil depth of 20 cm more decreased than the upper layer of soil. Accumulative emission of $CO_2$ with different treatments of biomass was highest of 829.0~876.6 g $CO_2m^{-2}$ in the application plot of PMC (Pig Manure Compost) regardless of chemical fertilizer treatment during 16 months of experiment. However, the emission for expander rice hull treatment plot was lowest of 672.3~808.1 g $CO_2m^{-2}$. For application plot of the carbonized rice hull, it was shown that non chemical fertilizer plot, 304.1 mg $N_2Om^{-2}$, was higher than the chemical fertilizer treatment, 271.6 mg $N_2Om^{-2}$. Greenhouse gas emissions in the PMC treatment were highest of 0.94 ton $CO_2eqha^{-1}yr^{-1}$. However, it was estimated to be the lowest in the expander rice hull treatment.

  • We present H I gas kinematics and star formation activities of NGC 6822, a dwarf galaxy located in the Local Volume at a distance of ~490 kpc. We perform profile decomposition of the line-of-sight velocity profiles of the high-resolution (~42.4" × 12") spatial; ~1.6 km/s spectral) H I data cube taken with the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA). For this, we use a new tool, the so-called BAYGAUD (BAYesian GAUssian Decompositor) which is based on Bayesian Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) techniques, allowing us to decompose a line-of-sight velocity profile into an optimal number of Gaussian components in a quantitative manner. We classify the decomposed H I gas components of NGC 6822 into kinematically cold, warm or hot ones with respect to their velocity dispersion: 1) cold: < 4 km/s, 2) warm: 4 ~ 8 km/s, 3) hot: > 8 km/s. We then derive the Toomre-Q parameters of NGC 6822 using the kinematically decomposed H I gas maps. We also correlate their gas surface densities with the surface star formation rates derived using both GALEX far-ultraviolet and WISE 22 micron data to examine the impact of gas turbulence caused by stellar feedback on the Kennicutt-Schmidt (K-S) law. The kinematically cold component is likely to better follow the linear extension of the Kennicutt-Schmidt (K-S) law for molecular hydrogen (H2) at the low gas surface density regime where H I is not saturated.

A New Strategy to Fabricate a Colloidal Array Templated $TiO_2$ Photoelectrode for Dye-sensitized Solar Cells

  • Nanocrystalline titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) materials have been widely used as an electron collector in DSSC. This is required to have an extremely high porosity and surface area such that the dye can be sufficiently adsorbed and be electronically interconnected, resulting in the generation of a high photocurrent within cells. In particular, their geometrical structures and crystalline phase have been extensively investigated as important issues in improving its photovoltaic efficiency. In this study, we present a new strategy to fabricate a photoelectrode having a periodic structured $TiO_2$ film templated from 1D or 3D polystyrene (PS) microspheres array. Monodisperse PS spheres of various radiuses were used for colloidal array on FTO glasses and two types of photoelectrode structures with different $TiO_2$ materials were investigated respectively. One is the igloo-shaped electrode prepared by $TiO_2$ deposition by RF-sputtering onto 2D microsphere-templated substrates. At the interface between the film and substrate, there are voids formed by the decomposition of PS microspheres during the calcination step. These holes might be expected to play the predominant roles as scattering spherical voids to promote a light harvesting effect, a spacious structure for electrolytes with higher viscosity and effective paths for electron transfer. Additionally the nanocrystalline $TiO_2$ phase prepared by the RF-sputtering method was previously reported to improve the electron drift mobility within $TiO_2$ electrodes. This yields solar cells with a cell efficiency of 2.45% or more at AM 1.5 illumination, which is a very remarkable result, considering its $TiO_2$ electrode thickness (<2 ${\mu}m$). This study can be expanded to obtain higher cell efficiency by higher dye loading through the increase of surface area or multi-layered stacking. The other is the inverse opal photonic crystal electrode prepared by titania particles infusion within 3D colloidal arrays. To obtain the enlargement of ordered area and high quality of crystallinity, the synthesis of titania particles coated with a organic thin layer were applied instead of sol-gel process using the $TiO_2$ precursors. They were dispersed so well in most solvents without aggregates and infused successfully within colloidal array structures. This ordered mesoporous structure provides the large surface area leading to the enough adsorption of dye molecules and have an light harvesting effect due to the photonic band gap properties (back-and-forth reflection effects within structures). A major advantage of this colloidal array template method is that the pore size and its distribution within $TiO_2$ photoelectrodes are determined by those of latex beads, which can be controlled easily. These materials may have promising potentials for future applications of membrane, sensor and so on as well as solar cells.

생활폐기물의 호기성처리를 통한 유기물 분해안정화에 관한 연구 (A study on degaradation stabilization of organic material through aerobic treatment before landfill of domestic waste)

  • 본 연구는 생활폐기물을 호기성분해 개념에서 유기물을 분해 안정화시킬 때 적정한 환경인자들을 도출, 검토하기 위해서 가정에서 배출되는 일반생활폐기물을 각각의 비율에 따라 섞은 후 함수율을 55%, 60%로 조절하여 분해 안정화정도를 평가하였다. VS량의 변화는 6번 반응기를 제외하고는 모든 반응기에서 초기에 투입된 음식물량이 모두 분해가 된 것으로 판단되었고, 1, 2, 3, 4번 반응기는 비슷한 분해정도를 보여 비닐/플라스틱의 첨가가 통기개량제로서의 역할을 한 것으로 사료되었다. 반응기별 온도는 모든 반응기의 최고 온도가 약 $57{\sim}59^{\circ}C$정도로 측정되었고, VS량의 변화와 비슷하게 1, 2, 3, 4번 반응기가 최고온도에서 지속기간이 5, 6번 반응기보다는 약 2~4일정도 더 지속되어 분해반응이 더 잘 일어난 것으로 판단되었으며, $CO_2$ 발생량도 온도 변화와 비슷한 경향을 나타내고 있다. 함수율 변화는 미생물의 산화열로 증발된 수분의 원활한 배출이 이루어지지 않은 관계로 수분 감소율은 모든 반응기에서 낮게 측정되었다. pH는 음식물쓰레기로 인하여 초기에는 약산성이었으나, 반응이 진행됨에 따라 pH가 상승하여 일반적인 경향과 비슷하게 측정되었다. 전기전도도와 C/N비는 전체적으로 소폭증가하는 경향을 보였다. 침하량과 무게감소율도 위의 다른 인자들과 비슷한 경향을 보였다. 즉, 1, 3번 반응기와 2, 4번 반응기가 더 큰 침하율과 무게감소율을 보였다.

뇌스캔용 $^{99m}Tc-HM-PAO$의 방사성 동위원소표지에 영향을 미치는 인자에 대한 연구 (Radiopharmceutical Factors in the Prepartion of $^{99m}Tc-HMPAO$ Images of the Brain)

  • Technetium-99m-hexamethylpropyleneamine oxime $(^{99m}Tc-HM-PAO)$ is a neutral-lipophilic chelate which is used for scanning cerebral blood flow. The labeling efficiencies of $^{99m}Tc-HM-PAO$ is known to be sensitive to the amount of pertechnetate added and the quality of the pertechnetate. Because of these factors, the manufacture recommends that HM-PAO kits be reconstituted with a maximum of 30 mCi pertechnetate which was eluted <4 hr earlier from a generator which had been eluted < 24 hr previously. So we measured the labelling efficiencies and the decomposition rate constant according to the amount of pertechnetate added, the volume of pertechnette added, and generator in-growth time. We used the 3-system chromatographic methods (paper & ITLC-SG chromatography) which analyzed the labelling efficiencies of the $^{99m}Tc-HM-PAO$. There was no significant difference in labelling efficiencies between variable pertechnetate acitvities added. ($39.9{\pm}4.9\;mCi:\;87.8{\pm}5.1\;(%)$, $60.8{\pm}5.0\;mCi:\;90.7{\pm}2.2\;(%)$, $79.0{\pm}6.0\;mCi:\;86.8{\pm}3.9\;(%)$, $106.6{\pm}11.6\;mCi:\;87.7{\pm}1.2\;(%)$, p>0.05) No significant difference in labelling efficiencies were found between pertechnetate of 4ml and 5ml. (4ml : $89.1{\pm}3.2(%)$, 5ml: $87.3{\pm}4.0(%)$, p>0.05). There was no difference between 1-6 and 10-48 hr of generator in-growth time. (1-6 hr: $87.8{\pm}4.0(%)$, 10-48 hr: $89.6{\pm}1.6(%)$, p>0.05) The mean value of decomposition rate constant was $0.196{\pm}0.097\;(hr^{-1})$, and there were no difference according to the amount of pertecnetate added and the volume of pertecnetate added, ($39.9{\pm}4.9\;mCi:\;0.208{\pm}0.059\;(hr^{-1})$, $60.8{\pm}5.0\;mCi:\;0.191{\pm}0.100\;(hr^{-1})$ $79.0{\pm}6.0\;mCi:\;0.192{\pm}0.118\;(hr^{-1})$, $106.6{\pm}11.6\;mCi:\;0.212{\pm}0.030\;(hr^{-1})$, p>0.05, 4 ml: $0.200{\pm}0.074\;(hr^{-1})$, Sml: $0.193{\pm}0.115\;(hr^{-1})$, p>0.05). In the case of using the first eluate, the labelling efficiency of $^{99m}Tc-HM-PAO$ W3S 82.1%. These data suggest that there were no significant alteration in labelling efficiency of $^{99m}Tc-HM-PAO$ according to the considerable range of pertechnetate activities and volume added, and generator in-growth time. Also, it was shown that one vial of HM-PAO kit supplied the $^{99m}Tc-HM-PAO$ which was used for 3-4 patients.

PIN形 非晶質 硅素 太陽電池의 製作 및 特性 (Fabrication and Characteristics of PIN Type Amorphous Silicon Solar Cell)

  • Silane($SiH_4$), methane($CH_4$), diborane(B_2H_6)그리고 phosphine($PH_3$)을 이용하여 rf글로방전분해법으로 PIN형 a-SiC:H/a-Si:H 이종접합 태양전지를 제작하였다. $SnO_2/ITO$층 형성치 태양전지의 효율은 ITO 투명전극만의 경우보다 1.5% 향상되었다. 제작조건은 P층의 경우 $CH_4/SiH_4$의 비를 5로 하고 두께는 $100{\AA}$이었다. I층은 P층위에 증착하였으나 진성이 아니고 N형에 가깝다. 이 I층을 진성으로 바꾸기 위해서 0.3ppm의 $B_2H_6$$SiH_4$에 혼합하여 5000${\AA}$증착했다. 또한 N층은 $PH_4/SiH_4$의 비를 $10^{-2}$로 하여 $400{\AA}$ 증착시켰다. 그 결과 입사강도가 15mW/$cm^2$일 때 개방전압 $V_{oc}=O'$단락전류밀도 $J_{sc=14.6mA/cm^2}$, 충진율 FF=58.2%, 그리고 효율 ${eta}=8.0%$를 나타내었다. 빛의 반사에 의한 손실을 감소시키기 위하여 $MgF_2$를 유리기판위에 도포하였다. 이에 의한 효율은 0.5% 향상되어 전체적인 효율은 8.5%였다.

물리적 인자의 변화에 따른 다양한 구성물질의 하운스필드 단위 평가 및 응용 (Estimation and Application of HU Values for Various Materials as a Function of Physical Factor)

  • 본 연구는 관전압(kVp), 관전류량(mAs)과 같은 물리적 인자의 변화에 따른 다양한 구성 물질의 하운스필드 단위(HU, Hounsfield Unit) 평가를 통해 전산화단층촬영(Computed Tomography) 장치에 대한 성능을 평가하고 이들의 응용가능성을 연구하고자 하였다. MDCT (Siemens SOMATOM Sensation 4, Germany)를 이용하여 밀도가 다른 다양한 물질의 물리적 인자의 변화에 따른 HU 값을 측정하였다. 실험결과 관전압이 증가함에 따라 물질의 HU 값은 대체적으로 감소하고, 특히 뼈와 조영제의 구성물질인 요오드(iodine)의 경우 관전압이 80 kVp에서 140 kVp로 증가했을 때 HU 값은 각각 32%, 42% 감소하였다. 반면, 50 mAs에서 400 mAs로 관전류량이 증가함에 따라 HU 값에는 큰 변화가 없었다. 그리고 물질의 밀도가 0.00 $g/cm^3$에서 1.82 $g/cm^3$로 증가함에 따라 HU 값은 선형적으로 증가하였다. 조영제의 구성물질인 요오드의 경우에는 농도가 증가함에 따라 HU 값은 선형적으로 증가하였고 관전압이 증가함에 따라 HU 값이 감소하였다. 관전압 증가에 따른 감소정도는 요오드의 농도에 따라 차이가 있으며 3%의 농도에서 가장 큰 차이를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 이용하여 single source CT 장치에서 혼합물의 물질분리 효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 다양한 물질에 대한 물리적 인자와 HU의 상관관계를 확인하였고, single source CT 장치를 이용하여 물질분리 효과를 구현함으로써 CT 장치의 효율성을 증가시키고, 응용분야를 확장할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

수확 후 고온처리가 참외의 저온장해 완화와 저장성 향상에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Postharvest Heat Treatment on Alleviation Chilling Injury and Improvement Storability of Oriental Melon)

  • 저장전 고온처리($38^{\circ}$, 48시간)는 참외의 당도, 산도, 비타민 C의 함량과 ${\alpha}$-tocopherol 활성을 높였으며, $3^{\circ}C$의 MA저장중 생체중 감소 이산화탄소, 에틸렌그리고 아세트알데히드 발생량을 낮게 유지시켰다. 또한 저장후 외관상 품질, 경도, 당도, 산도, 비타민 C, ${\alpha}$-tocopherol 활성 등 내적품질이 고온처리한 참외에서 높은 수준을 유지하였는데 특히 저온장해정도를 알 수 있는 이온용 출량이 고온처리구에서 낮아 수확후 고온처리로 저온장해가 완화되었음을 알 수 있었다. 고온처리를 하지 않은 대조구는 저장 25일부터 Alternaria rot이 발견되었으나 고온처리구는 저장 종료일인 39일까지 부패가 발견되지 않았으며 외관상 품질에 대한 저장일수로 세운 회귀식에 의하면 저장수명이 고온처리구에서 8일 이상 연장되었다. 참외의 경우 저장전 $38^{\circ}C$의 낮은 고온에서 장시간 열처리를 함으로써 살균효과 저온장해 완화효과와 더불어 수명연장까지 얻을 수 있었다.

폐기물 매립지 침출수에 의한 중금속 용출에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Leaching of Heavy Metals by Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Leachate)

  • Sanitary landfill is a general method as a final disposal of municipal solid waste(MSW), therefore leachate characteristics are very various as lime goes by because of highly concentrated organic acids are contained non biodegradable COD. So it is hard to abide by the mandatory standards of discharge eventhough applying the physicochemical and biological processes to treat the leachate. The process of treating leachate are determined by the degree of removal and components, but they are highly contained organic materials. It is a removal method to use jointly with the physicochemical process if the hard and fast rule is needed. The critical components of material are COD, ammonia, salts and heavy metals in the case of treating biologically. Biological process is to use metabolism of microorganism, therefore it is a desirable condition which heavy metals are not contained, because they acting as an inhibitor of enzyme. Of these are contained, organic decomposition and synthetic function of microorganisms decrease significantly. Consequently, this research paper lays emphasis on the concentration of heavy metals in leachate and for the purpose of forecasting the factors which are affecting the leaching of metalic waste in some degree, experimented the various reacting conditions. 1. When the concentration of heavy metals in leachate is in comparison with the level eluted after reaction, at pH 7.9 the result of reaction for PCB to CCL scrap showed that Zn, Mn, Cu was more eluted 11.6 times, 340.3 times, and 2,705.5 times respectively than the leachate undiluted solution. 2. At the condition of strong acid pH 4.7, the concentration of heavy metals in EM undiluted solution showed that Zn, Mn, Cu was more eluted 26.5 times, 147.3 times, and 3,656.3 times respectively than leachate undiluted solution. 3. When the ratio leachate to EM was 50 vs 50(V/V%), Mn was more eluted 198.7 times than leachate undiluted solution, but Zn and Cu do not show the meaningful results. 4. The color of landfill leachate was black-brown. And fulvic acid that is main ingredient of NBD COD contained, oxygen of 44~50%. For that reason, I estimated that the level of Zn, Mn, Cu was higher than the case of leachate. 5. COD of leachate from general landfill is difficult to remove. Because the solution of heavy metals is improved by the character of leachate(pH & ingredient of oxygen etc.) hence the Mn, Cu, Zn act as disturbing factor, the biochemical treatment is hard. Therefore the type of PCB & CCL scrap, iron, aluminum contained metals need to previously separate from general wastes as much as possible.

굴절/회절 하이브리드 렌즈 적용 슬림 모바일 렌즈 설계 (Slim Mobile Lens Design Using a Hybrid Refractive/Diffractive Lens)

  • 본 논문은 하이브리드 굴절/회절광학소자를 이용한 초슬림 모바일 카메라 렌즈를 보고한다. 먼저 앞서 보고된 23개의 광학 설계 사양 분석을 통해 전장길이(total track length) 최소화를 위하여, 광시야 렌즈 설계에서 일반적으로 적용되는 음(-)의 렌즈를 제1렌즈로 사용하는 리트로포커스(retrofocus) 타입이 아닌, 양(+)의 렌즈가 제일 먼저 선행하는 텔레포토(telephoto) 타입을 선택하였다. 이후 초기 최적 설계 및 제르니케 다항식 기반 수차 분석을 통한 보정 설계를 진행하였으며, 보정 설계 과정에서 잔여 구면색수차(chromatic spherical aberration)의 효과적 제거를 위하여 굴절 및 회절이 결합된 하이브리드 렌즈 1매를 적용하였다. 적용된 최종 설계는 하이브리드 렌즈 1매 포함 총 6매의 렌즈를 이용하여 F/2.0, 화각 90°, 유효초점길이 2.23 mm, 전장길이 3.7 mm를 달성하였고, 결과적으로 1.7의 낮은 전장길이 대 초점길이 비 즉, 텔레포토비(telephoto ratio)를 달성하였다. 동일 전장길이를 갖는 하이브리드 렌즈 미적용 비교 설계 대비, 공간주파수 180 cycles/mm에서 MTF 값이 중심 시야에서는 63%에서 71~73%로 약 8~10% 개선되었고, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9 시야에서도 2~3% 개선되었다. 또한, 가공성 및 회절 패턴에 의한 산란 등을 고려하였을 때 조리개에 위치한 렌즈가 하이브리드 렌즈로 적절함을 알 수 있었고, 이 경우 2개의 회절존으로도 성능 개선이 확인되었다.
