Let M = (R, +, $\cdot$, <, ... ) be an o-minimal expansion of the standard structure R = (R, +, $\cdot$, >) of the field of real numbers. We prove that if 2 $\le$ r < $\infty$, then every n-dimensional definable $C^r$ manifold is definably $C^r$ imbeddable into $R^{2n+l}$. Moreover we prove that if 1 < s < r < $\infty$, then every definable $C^s$ manifold admits a unique definable $C^r$ manifold structure up to definable $C^r$ diffeomorphism.

This study was performed to determine the changes of maternal iron status during pregnancy cross sectionally, and to evaluate the appropriateness of the cut-off points of hemoglobin (Hb). hematocrit (Hct), serum transferrin receptor (sTfR) and sTfR : ferritin ratio for assessing iron deficiency status based on serum ferritin level (< 12${\mu}g$/L). Serum Hb concentrations in the first trimester were significantly higher (p < 0.05) than those in the second and third trimester. Serum levels of iron and ferritin in the third trimester were significantly lower (p < 0.05) than those in the first and second trimester. On the other hand, sTfR:ferritin ratios in the third trimester were significantly higher (p < 0.05) than those in the first and second trimester. sTfR concentrations did not change significantly during pregnancy. The appropriate cut-off points of Hb were 11.5g/dL for whole period of pregnancy. 12.0g/dL for 1st trimester. and 11.5g/dL for both 2nd and 3rd trimester. The good cut-off points of Hct were 34% for whole period of pregnancy. 36% for 1st trimester. and 34% for both 2nd and 3rd trimester The suitable cut-off points of TIBC were 400${\mu}g$/dL for whole period of pregnancy. 360${\mu}g$/dL for 1st trimester, and 400${\mu}g$/dL for both 2nd and 3rd trimester. Any cut-off point of sTfR could not be selected because of its low sensitivity and specificity. The proper cut-off point of sTfR : ferritin ratio was 600 or 650 for all the periods determined except the first trimester. In conclusion, there were no reliable cut-off levels of sTfR and those of sTfR : ferritin ratio showed low specificity. The cut-off values of Hb and Hct for assessing iron deficiency were slightly higher than the values used to evaluate anemia. Thus, if appropriate cut-off levels were applied, Hb. Hct, or TIBC might be useful indices for evaluating iron deficiency as well as anemia.

Allyl (5R)-(Z)- and (5R)-(E)-6-[(2S)-2,3-isopropylidenedioxypropylidene]Penicillanate(10a and 10b) were prepared from allyl (5R)-dibromopenicillanate(6) via a sequence of reactions involving condensation with 2,3-O-isopropylidene-D-glyceraldehyde, reduction with $Zn-NH_4OAc$, and Mitsunobu elimination. Deprotection of isopropylidene and allyl groups of 10a gave potassium (5R)-(Z)-6-[(2S)-2,3-dihydroxypropylidene]penicillanate(4). However, deprotection of isopropylidene group of 10b afforded ${\alpha},\;{\beta}$-unsaturated-lactone(12). Allyl (5R)-(Z)- and (5R)-(E)-6-[(2S)-2-(t-butyldimethlsilyloxy)propylidene]penicillanate(18a and 18b) were prepared from ally (5R)-dibromopenicillanate(6) via a sequence of reactions involving condensation with (2S)-2-(t-butyldimethylsilyloxy)propanal(15), reduction with $Zn-NH_4OAc$ and Mitsunobu elimination or mesylation-elimination. Deprotection of t-butyldimethylsilyl and allyl groups of 18a and 18b gave potassium (5R)-(Z)- and (5R)-(E)-6-[(2S)-2-hydroxypropylidene]penicillanate(5a and 5b), respectively.

We examined the relationship between innovation capability of R&D and the firm's performance by mainly comparing regional strategy industry with non-regional strategy industry. Also, this analysis involved comparing the relationship by regional strategy industry. For the purpose of this study, we divided innovation capability of R&D into input, process and output. The first of main results in this study was that regional strategic industry was significantly higher than non-regional strategy industry in innovation capability of R&D with the exception of the CEO's mind for technological innovations. However, we found no significant difference in the firm's performance. Second, in the results of comparing innovation capability of R&D and the firm's performance by regional strategy industry, electronic-information equipment industry was significantly superior to other industries. Third, it was found that the relationship between innovation capability of R&D and the firm's performance was different by regional strategy industry. Also, R&D manpower and R&D process were more significant factors affecting the firm's performance rather than R&D input and output.

Objective; This study was designed to investigate the effect of Sa-am acupuncture and Arctii Fructus water extract on Post-herpetic Neuralgia. Method: We have treated them with acupuncture treatment of Sa-am acupuncture and Arctii Fructus water extract and evaluated the effect by Pain Rating Score(P.R.S.) and Visual Analogue Scale(V.A.S.) scale. Result: Before theraphy, the grades of Song's scale were P.R.S. 80 and V.A.S. 100, Kim's sclae's P.R.S. 77 and V.A.S. 100. After theraphy, the grades of song's scale were P.R.S. 5 and V.A.S. 10, Kim's scales's P.R.S. 10 and V.A.S. 10 Conclusion: The treatment of Sa-am-acupuncture and Arctii Fructus water extract on Post-herpetic Neuralgia was effective and will be attempted to the patients with it.

Anginosus group streptococci (AGS) were classified based on the nucleotide sequences of the 16S rRNA gene (16S rDNA) and comprised Streptococcus anginosus, Streptococcus intermedius, and Streptococcus constellatus. It is known that AGS is a causative factor of oral and systematic diseases. The purpose of this study was to discriminate the 56 clinical strains of AGS isolated from Korean oral cavities using phylogenetic analysis of 16S rDNA and species-specific PCR at the species-level. The 16S rDNA of clinical strains of AGS was sequenced using the dideoxy chain termination method and analyzed using MEGA version 5 software. PCR was performed to identify the clinical strains using species-specific primers described in previous studies and S. intermedius-specific PCR primers developed in our laboratory. The resulting phylogenetic data showed that the 16S rDNA sequences can delineate the S. anginosus, S. intermedius, and S. constellatus strains even though the 16S rDNA sequence similarity between S. intermedius and S. constellatus is above 98%. The PCR data showed that each species-specific PCR primer pair could discriminate between clinical strains at the species-level through phylogenetic analysis of 16S rDNA nucleotide sequences. These results suggest that phylogenetic analysis of 16S rDNA and PCR are useful tools for discriminating between AGS strains at the species-level.
